Chapter 20 – Bathroom (3)
Parasites laid eggs in my body.
Cockroaches that had burrowed into my ears rubbed their antennae against my eardrums, and roundworms that had burrowed into my stomach wriggled all over my body. And unknown bugs crawled on the skin and ravaged the whole body. Especially the lips and chest.
I couldn’t think of anything else. Otherwise, there was no way to explain why this discomfort did not go away no matter how much I washed myself.
After returning from the student president’s office, I ran straight to the bathroom. Roselia left with only one word to say to rest. I don’t know where it went. I don’t even have time to worry about it now.
After an hour had passed, I got dressed again and lay down on the bed. A musty smell wafted from the sloppily arranged sheets. I felt like I would have a nightmare if I continued to lie in a place like this.
It wasn’t just a feeling. I’m still having nightmares with my eyes open. No matter how much I think about it, I don’t think there’s anything more appropriate than that to represent the day.
I was already in a bad mood. But the day is still not over.
And maybe this won’t end in just one day.
Of course, I knew that my life would turn into a nightmare when the world collapsed. That’s why when I decided to follow Roselia, I didn’t even expect a pink future to wait.
But at least I thought it would be better than now. Because Roselia acted as if she was at the center of power in the academy. I had no choice but to believe it because it was she who said it, not anyone else, and I believed it blindly because the men accompanying me provided evidence. At least I expected to be treated differently than the common sluts at the academy.
And the truth we faced today completely denied that fact. Now, the best value in the academy was simple ignorant power. It is a virtue that Rogeria and I never possessed. It’s a savage who never even tried to have it.
Until that savage talent slapped me in the face today, I thought I might still be useful in this world. I believed that the knowledge I had learned and the status I had built would protect me. That trust was shattered like broken windows today.
No, maybe it collapsed last night. When I realized that the magic I cast in front of the assailants was blocked in vain and that the glass bottle I picked up from the floor was more effective. At that moment, the magical knowledge I had accumulated over the years betrayed me bitterly.
And fuck in the first place. I’ve never really used combat magic before. Who in today’s world learns that? Only fools who invite themselves to become butchers learn. Those stupid, stupid idiots…
…
It should be like this.
If this is the case, I might as well have followed such a stupid, asshole.
That thought suddenly crossed my mind.
But as soon as I remembered it, I unknowingly snorted. Well. Was it really so? Even if you’ve known him for a while, it wouldn’t have changed if you stayed with someone like a stalker.
Okay. Stalker. I liked to pamper him, so I took him with me, but when the academy looked at me like a dog in heat, it really made me sick. Did you really think that you could date me?
On the subject of jjinta with no one to talk to except me.
If I followed a bastard like that, I would have ended up being raped by him or gang-raped by other assholes who came in.
Yes, it must have been.
Perhaps in order to deny the uneven choices, he swears excessively. A baseless hatred surged like a wave.
“Hey, Lena?”
Then I heard a familiar man’s voice from outside. It was one of the guys who followed Roseria. The man, whose name he did not know, hesitated and knocked again.
“Lena? I brought you a meal. Can I go inside?”
“Don’t open the door for nothing, put it in front of it. I’ll eat it myself.”
“Oh yeah.”
Have a meal Looks like Rogeria still cares about me. But there was no emotion beyond that. At a time like this, you can’t go hungry without noticing. I bluntly pushed away the faint goodwill I had even intended.
After consuming my emotions like that, what came to me was heavy fatigue and drowsiness. Wanting to fall asleep after stress is an adult’s physiology, not a baby’s.
“Ha…”
I took a deep breath and buried my face in the pillow. Now my nose is paralyzed, so I can’t even smell that musty smell. I feel like I’m going to sleep at any moment when I close my eyes softly without yawning.
“Fuck…”
Laughter came out suddenly. It was not much different from the wish I made in the morning that I hoped after going through all those things in a short time. Then and now, there was only one thing I wanted.
I just want to sleep like this until the next day.
And tomorrow, I hope Rogeria doesn’t force me to wake up.
With such petty hopes, I plunged into the promised nightmare.
“…Lena.”
“…”
“Lena.”
“…”
“Lena!”
The hopes I had yesterday were shattered in the sunlight of today. The same fatigue as always weighs down my eyes, and my head throbs from the rest of the sleepiness. A day has passed and I haven’t changed anything.
Since that happened in the morning, yesterday I really slept all day. To come in the evening and tell Rogeria that the next meal will be served by the guy at her door. She said that she would come by herself if anything happened, but she soon forgot about it and went back to sleep. After sleeping like that, eating, sleeping, waking up, crying for a long time, and repeating sleep, the day ended.
Still very sleepy Maybe I just want to sleep like this for the rest of my life. When there was no hope of surviving, I actually harbored such a hope. So right before Rogeria came to visit her, she was looking for a rope to hang her in the annex.
Anyway, Rogeria eventually came to wake me up again. Her high-pitched voice kept ringing in my ears.
“Lena. I’ll go in.”
“…Ah.”
Unlike yesterday, she hastily went inside. She then looked at me buried under the blanket and said something like a nagging voice.
“You were still sleeping after all.”
“…”
“Hurry up. I have something to tell you.”
“Didn’t I say I didn’t have to go with you yesterday?”
“I didn’t say there was nothing to do. Get up, Lena.”
Why do people keep ordering me?
The familiar tone made the area that had been hit yesterday tingle again. It seemed that the ruthless handprints were still there. She resembled him in that she disregarded her opponent’s wishes and carried out her own will.
All I could do to such people was timid defiance. I deliberately swayed and slowly got up from the futon.
However, when he faced Roseria’s face like that, his blurry vision instantly became clear.
“Roseria…?”
“Did you wake up? Okay. There’s no time, so put on your clothes first.”
“Why are you sweating so much?”
“Yes?”
A drop of sweat trickled down from the hair that clung to her cheeks. She stared in amazement at the drop of sweat hanging from the tip of her chin, as if she didn’t even know she was sweating. Then he swallowed her saliva and answered.
“Because I had to hurry a little. Get ready to leave sooner than that, Lena.”
“Ready to go? But yesterday…”
“It’s not like that, so get dressed quickly!”
“What the hell is going on…”
“Ha… Mr….”
As I continued to procrastinate, she eventually threw off her mask of kindness. She then grabbed my arm, nervously pulling the hair that was clinging to her.
“Didn’t you hear that you have to hurry? Get dressed quickly.”
“Ah…Okay, I got it. But you don’t have to explain what’s going on.”
“…I need to find Lope right now. Come on.”
“What?”
I stopped my hand at that word while I was wearing my clothes compliantly. My expression hardened involuntarily, and a chill swelled in my voice.
“Why the hell. And why should I?”
“Because I need it. And I need it for you too. Can’t I just figure it out and leave?”
“No. I won’t be able to go until I understand it. I don’t know why you’re suddenly in such a hurry to find me in three days, and I don’t understand why you keep obsessing over that guy. And above all, I don’t have to go looking for you alone from this morning. I don’t want to risk it.”
“You…”
Roselia frowned at her as if she had a lot to say. But I didn’t even flinch this time. Some might say it’s useless pride, but I couldn’t keep ignoring me like this.
In the end, it was Roselia who broke her momentum first. Even though she gave me an annoyed look for the first time, she tried to answer calmly.
“Okay Lena. First of all, it’s late afternoon, not morning. I left you as promised and went to get in touch, and there I decided you should go find Lope.”
“So what’s the reason?”
“I don’t know that. And above all, being here is much more dangerous than going to find Lope by yourself. Are you satisfied?
She finally let out her screams as if to explode at the last second. Then he roughly pushed me on the back of my sloppily dressed.
“If you know, go. Go away.”
“I understand. But I don’t understand. Why the hell did Lope…”
“You still don’t understand, Lena! It’s true that you need Lope, but what’s really important is that you have to go find her!”
“What does that mean? I…”
“Don’t keep vomiting…!”
“Rogeria!”
Then a new voice intervened. She looked up and saw Baron leaning against the doorway, gasping for breath. He, too, was as drenched in sweat as Roselia.
“J… Right there…”
“Are you coming? That’s why I told you to hurry!”
“Coming… Are you?”
“It’s like time to explain everything…!”
“Ah.”
The moment Rogeria was about to heat up, Baron looked behind her and let out a sigh. The dull sound of footsteps began to be heard through his heavy flesh.
It was the sound of footsteps I had never heard before, but it was familiar for no reason. However, the feeling of déjà vu was not welcome at all and only amplified anxiety. Meanwhile, footsteps continued to approach.
Soon, a large hand touched Baron’s shoulder. The hand removed Baron so easily and went inside. Then he let out a husky voice.
“What.”
“…”
“I’ve been here too.”
“Fuck…”
Someone spat out a curse in a low voice. I thought it was Roselia, but it turned out to be me. Only then did I realize why Roselia was in such a hurry.
But it was already too late. Once again, yesterday’s wounds were burning up, and the lower leg became hot. All a weak victim could do in front of the perpetrators of violence was to ruminate on nightmares and build immunity.
The shadow that walked like that finally lowered its head. Then, in front of Roseria, who looked particularly small, Duke’s face was revealed. He made eye contact with the people in the room one by one and smiled.
“Why did you lie? Rogeria. I heard you went looking for him, Lope.”
“I didn’t lie. I just…”
“And why didn’t you come today, Lena. I told you to come. So when I asked Roselia, she made a useless excuse. Did you ignore my words?”
“I… I…”
“I don’t know why you keep rebelling needlessly.”
Before I could utter an excuse, he put one of his arms on my shoulder. The weight on him was so heavy that it felt like his shoulders would break.
“I guess you were talking about Lope by the way. I wanted to see her face anyway. I never had a chance with Hater.”
“…”
“But, anyway, I didn’t go looking for him, Lena.”
The Duke saw my expression and slipped his hand down and tapped his chest over his clothes. The nightmare I hadn’t had last night was about to unfold before my eyes. He asked calmly, savoring the scent of fear scattered in the air.
“I guess you wanted to play with me more?”
