Chapter 95 – Rules of Barbarism.
Early morning when the sun hadn’t risen yet. Outside the window was still immersed in light darkness, but the room where the girls slept was lit by a small candle. Then, without any premonition, Belka opened her eyes. Caught between Medea and Lyudmila, she got up from her seat, whimpering as if it was difficult to get up. She exhaled a small weary breath and looked at the candle that was still lighting her room. The candle, which had reached its limits by burning itself during the night, was destined to slowly go out without being able to light up the room any longer.
Belka took out another candle from the small chest of drawers on which the candlestick was placed, and connected it to the one that had gone out. The candle that moved the flame to a new candle was blown out by the girl herself. Putting a new candle in its place, she picked up her maid’s uniform so as not to wake Medea and Lyudmila, and walked cautiously into the bathroom. Originally, Belka was going to wash in her room, but it was Mediah’s consideration. It was when she came out of her bathroom that she had washed every inch of her body without falling out.
“Hee! I’m surprised!”
Lyudmila woke up and shouted in surprise when she saw her Belka. He seemed to wake up to the sound of a girl washing in bed.
“Why did you get up so early? What kind of maid outfit are you wearing?”
“Because I have to work.”
“Ahhh, I told you I didn’t have to wake up too early, Belka.”
When Belka answered Lyudmila’s question briefly, Mediah tossed and turned, probably awakened by the sound of their conversation.
“Mea, what do you mean work?”
“That’s it. Belka applied for her hired position because she needed her money, so I secretly moved to my maid position.”
“Is that something you can do on your own?”
“As long as there are no problems with public affairs.”
Lyudmila noticed that she still had some oddities left.
“As for money, if your parents are Aeolus-sama’s vassals, isn’t it not enough?”
Medea then realized that she hadn’t told Lyudmilla the peculiar circumstances of Belka and Usher, and that she was indebted to Donard.
“Huh huh? Then what are you doing?”
“Changing clothes? Belka is pretty, so it’s okay to wear anything.”
“…It’s just a puppet.”
“It’s not necessarily like that. I’m fine with it, but Belka dares to find work.”
For example, she helps Medea take a bath, and she changes her clothes and even simple cleaning.
“You should just be comfortable. You’re also very tired.”
Even at her words, the girl only blinked. Then she heard a loud clicking sound from somewhere.
“This sound…”
“It sounds like the gates are opening.”
Most of the castle’s gates were used when large wagons came in, knights went out, or Aiolus went out officially. Even in the dark of dawn, to see the beacon burning in the distance.
“It’s a monster.”
It wasn’t anything special. It was because monster attacks were a frequent occurrence, sometimes lasting all day or coming every day.
“I really can’t hit it once.”
The morning when the sun barely pokes its head out. Usher lay down on the floor and let out a sigh of relief. Logi, who was his opponent, was taking a break away from him as if taking a break. The knights, including Donnar, heard the news that the beacon would rise this morning and left the castle to deal with the monster. Still, he did not slack off and trained based on what Donnar had taught him. After that, he challenged Logi several times until he collapsed from exhaustion, but he couldn’t feed a proper attack.
“Can I make a difference like this?”
It was impossible not to know that Rogi was good at sparring several times. He must have been trained as a knight before that, so it was only natural that there would be a difference. Still, the fact that he lost without being able to hit a kid his age made Usher even more angry. In his heart, he wanted to get up again and attack Rogi, but he knew that he made sparring more rough than necessary. If you force yourself to continue, you will surely get hurt.
But I couldn’t help it. Rather than beating the guy who did that to Belka, the fact that he was losing unilaterally made him even more angry. That’s why it’s more likely that Rogi will lose control and get hurt, and if that happens, he’ll worry Belka again. It’s because I didn’t even get hurt today. I didn’t want to make her worry for a day. Besides, it’s mealtime soon.
“I’m going to eat with Belka.”
I could have waited until Donar returned after dealing with the monsters, but I was hungry because I had been training since dawn. Also, the stronger or more persistent the attacking monsters are, the longer they will return. Sometimes waiting for him would cause them to miss their meal, so they decided to eat before they waited for Donard. As he got up from the floor to go to dinner.
“What?”
Usher found many children surrounding him. How the hell did this happen? This place, which Donnar and Usher used as a gymnasium, was quite secluded even within the castle, so it was not used by other children or knights. That’s why there was no reason for many other children to gather here, let alone the knights. But why did so many children flock to it? But one thing is certain.
“What are you guys doing?”
It was a fact that he was never kind to Usher. The children who surrounded Usher, as if they were trying to lock him up, didn’t seem to have any intention of opening a way. He knew what had happened, especially when he spotted a familiar face approaching triumphantly through the distance.
“Now you can’t think of running away cowardly, can you?”
Because that guy was Pavel, who challenged Usher to a duel.
“What the hell are you fussing about dueling with?”
The reason was obvious, but I wondered why the guys who secretly harassed him all his life here were so proud of themselves.
“A coward who ran away from a duel, don’t insult the duel!”
But he’s rather angry, isn’t he talking like he’s angry?
“He’s the son of a knight, but he’s lazy in training, so he loses every time in Dalian, and he’s lost in a girl’s skirt and doesn’t know how to act like a child!”
Pavel threw the glove at Usher just like the last time. She snatched her glove this time, but it was the same glove as the last time.
“Fight! Fight!”
Usher frowned at the voices of the children around him. He was so pathetic that he didn’t even want to listen to his nonsense.
“If you want to play duels or something, find someone else.”
He threw away the glove he grabbed and tried to turn around. These are the children blocking the road. Because if I forcefully removed it, it would stop. If only I hadn’t heard that sound.
“Then it doesn’t matter if I fuck your girlfriend?”
“…What did you say?”
Usher stopped in his tracks. My stomach, which had barely settled down, began to boil.
“Your girlfriend said I was fucking her.”
Pavel spoke again as if he was laughing at him pretending not to hear.
“What kind of girlfriend are you dating when you’re wriggling because you don’t have the strength anyway? Can you protect me properly?”
The things the girl had been through all this time flashed through her mind. Horrible guys that Belka didn’t want to, but she forcibly raped and hurt them, laughing contentedly at herself. Because he was young because he had no strength. The girl had been forced to go through such things several times until now. Just like picking flowers just because they are beautiful. Every time that happened, Belka cried because there was no way to get rid of the pain. She just tried to wash away her wounds as she longed for his arms.
But Usher probably knew better than she herself that it was not just a wound, but a scar that could never be washed away. Belka said that she was always insecure without him and that unless she was like Usher or Donnar, she couldn’t even look at men properly and was reluctant to even receive her gaze. She was a girl who was hurt and hurt so much but didn’t show that she would worry him. She was the most precious Belka to him. But what is this guy saying now?
“If that’s the case, give it to me. A coward like you doesn’t look that pretty. I’ll use it well… Uh!?”
Pavel, who kept trying to provoke Usher into a duel, chewed her tongue out in the shock of a sudden hit on her jaw. What happened? Stunned, he soon realized that he was being grabbed and laughed.
“I’m mad at you for calling me your girlfriend. Kkeukeu!?”
“Don’t talk about Belka with that dirty mouth.
Pavel was hit in the jaw one after another and it hurt, but it didn’t matter. Because he thought that if he beat this guy hard enough, he would stop.
“Is this accepting a duel…?!”
Usher tried to break it off by hitting it with his hand, but it wouldn’t come off. Now he sensed something was wrong. He thought he would be able to win easily because he only saw how he kept losing in Dalian. Because he thought that he was secretly chasing after girls anyway. However, no matter how hard he tried to loosen his collar, he was gripped tightly and could not be released. And as if he had no intention of letting go as it was, Usher raised his fist.
“Yes, let’s do it. The duel you love so much.”
“What duel is this…”
Pavel wanted to say what kind of duel this was, but she was afraid Usher’s fists would smash him in the face first. He continued to struggle, but was beaten again and again. Blood was already pouring out of his nose and running down his face. But just because he was Pavel, he didn’t just get hit unconditionally. Compared to Usher holding him by the collar, both of his arms were free, so he hits Usher with his fist too, so he’s a mess too. But no matter how hard you hit him, he doesn’t think about loosening his collar.
His fists weren’t enough, he hit him in the head, and Usher beat him relentlessly. As if that was the only purpose, he didn’t care if he was hit and hit him. After struggling with her, Pavel managed to free herself from the collar and tried to pull out the sword she had been carrying for the duel, but she suddenly saw sand in her eyes.
“Oops! Oops!”
He forgot to pull out his sword and screamed, clutching his eyes at his pain, but it seemed like he was going to vomit at the pain that hit his stomach right away. It was very different, if not the same as the duel Pavel remembered. The duel he knew was an honorable one in which his father and the knights competed using the skills he had honed. It’s not such a painful fight. Pavel kicked him off, but his sandy eyes hardly opened.
The shock you feel in your stomach as you try to cover your face with your arms. I felt like my stomach would burst if I had kicked it with all my might. He writhes in pain, but the opponent does not wait for the pain to go away and beats him mercilessly. It was only a one-sided attack in the state of kicking and kicking with his feet. Pavel somehow rubbed his eyes with his hands to get the sand out of him, but the sand got back into his eyes. It hurt so much that I screamed out. This was not the duel he wanted.
It hurt so much that I forgot that I was in a duel and wanted to ask someone else for help. But Pavel knew that couldn’t be the case. It was he who dragged him into this situation, first challenging him to a duel. There’s no way he could do anything as unseemly as seeking help himself. He crouched down as best he could, though the bastard kept hitting him. Even so, he had to ease the pain and seize the opportunity. Finally, when Usher seemed tired and the number of hits had decreased, he jumped up and tried to punch.
“Turn it off?!”
If something hard and cold as iron hadn’t struck him on the head as he tried to rise. Pavel was stunned when he managed to get his head dizzy from his shock to see what it was. It was the knife he was carrying that struck him in the head. Pavel belatedly groped his waist, but all he could confirm was an empty scabbard.
