## Chapter 69 – Ogre Raid
I arrived at the assembly point.
It was a large clearing on top of a mountain. There was an old watchtower in the center, which they said was now an abandoned base of sorts. Old boxes and traces of bonfires were scattered around, looking exactly like the remnants left behind by departing soldiers.
I dragged a box over and sat on it. Cloudi sat next to me, and I leaned my head on her shoulder.
“Looks like we just wait here.”
As time passed, more and more adventurers gathered. They, too, seemed to be taking a rest, sitting around the area. When their number had grown to about two platoons, a man in full armor shouted.
“I will now call out the roster! We are not responsible for any problems caused by your mistakes! Everyone, gather over here!”
At his words, the adventurers moved forward and gathered in front of him.
“When I call your name, answer loudly and then stand next to the watchtower! Then I will count you! I’ll start calling now, so answer me! Melta, E-rank! Bruter, E-rank!”
As the man called out names, people responded loudly from various places and moved towards the watchtower. The armored man checked their numbers and appearance. The roll call continued for a while. Some people didn’t show up even when called, and some arrived at the assembly point a little late.
“Katt, E-rank! Cloudi, E-rank!”
Finally, we were called. Cloudi and I answered and went to the watchtower. He confirmed our presence and called out more names.
The procedure continued in that manner.
Looking at the people lined up on both sides and behind me, it seemed even an ogre would have a hard time surviving this. No matter how thick its hide, unless it was made of something other than steel, blades would still penetrate it. At least, that’s what I thought.
Well, more than that, I was worried about Cloudi. Many adventurers were glancing at Cloudi. Even though she was wearing a hood, she couldn’t hide her natural beauty. I put my hand around her waist.
“Just look at me.”
“…Okay.”
Cloudi is mine. I pulled her closer to me. I needed to show everyone around that she was with me, so that the same kind of trouble from earlier wouldn’t happen again. Good, I’ll show them my masculine side.
Cloudi’s body emitted a clear fragrance. Inhaling it seemed to clear my head a little. With that refreshed mind, I made a plan. Ogres are going to be incredibly big and fast, so I’ll have to react appropriately in each situation.
“Copson, E-rank!”
“Here!”
At that moment, Copson was called. I looked in his direction. It was the Copson I knew. I waved to Copson, who was coming towards the watchtower. He spotted me and ran over.
“Hey! Over here!”
“Oh, Barbarian. You were here first… But what’s this? Is it okay for me to join you?”
Copson, who had been running over, hesitated when he saw Cloudi in my arms. He seemed surprisingly considerate, reluctant to intrude between a couple.
“Why wouldn’t it be?”
“Really? Well, anyway, listen to me, Barbarian. It seems some D-rank and C-rank adventurers are also participating in the subjugation. Apparently, there’s a 1 gold bounty for the one who ends the ogre’s life, so they seem to be aiming for that.”
“Really? I honestly don’t expect anything.”
If those kinds of guys are gathered, there’s no chance for me. Cloudi might be able to aim for it, but just because she can do it doesn’t mean I can.
“Still, it would be good to aim for it as much as possible. If the three of us combine our strength, there will definitely be an opportunity.”
“Is that so…”
Well… if it happens, it happens.
First, I’ll take a look at the ogre and see if I can make an estimate, and if not, I’ll fight while being flexible and keeping an eye on the situation. I asked Cloudi.
“Cloudi. Do you think you can do it?”
“I’m confident. But C-rank? I wonder what level of skill a C-rank adventurer from the Adventurer’s Guild has.”
“They’re ten times weaker than you. I guarantee it.”
“Is that so? That’s kind of anticlimactic.”
C-rank, huh. A C-rank adventurer is definitely really strong.
But having seen their strength firsthand, I could confidently say that Cloudi was several times stronger than them. William was there when we subjugated the Cockatrice last time, wasn’t he? He was strong, but he didn’t seem to compare to Cloudi. Cloudi’s speed is literally ‘invisible’.
“By my standards, C-rank is really strong…”
Well… thinking back to that time, Winia was also there.
She’s a powerful mage.
She was the owner of magic that could instantly turn a Cockatrice into a roast. If that level is C-rank, then Cloudi would be around A-rank.
No, is A-rank too low? Actually, I haven’t really seen what people above C-rank are like. Once they become that strong, they usually quit being adventurers and go do something else. They’ll change their occupation to various places based on their accumulated experience and trust.
“Huh?”
But wait a minute.
There are a few C-ranks mixed in?
Suddenly, I had an ominous feeling.
—Winia.
Then, suddenly, goosebumps started to rise all over my body. Recalling Winia caused goosebumps as a conditioned reflex. I became uneasy. My heart was pounding as if I had been caught lying.
I tried hard to dismiss the bad thoughts, but like a balloon being filled with wind, the thoughts only grew bigger and bigger. Ominously, ominously, and ominously, as if about to burst… the balloon grew a little more. A balloon that gets too big is bound to burst.
Could it be.
Could it not be?
How vast is the world, what are the odds of running into her again in a place like this. No, but she came to catch the Cockatrice last time, didn’t she? So, wouldn’t she have come right away after hearing the ogre rumors?
No… that can’t be… Calm down, Kim Geuntae. How many days has it been since the ogre appeared for Winia to come here? Today is the 5th day. If I think about it calmly, the timing is a bit off… No, could it be right? Anyway, there’s nothing to worry about. Winia coming here, it’s absurd.
And then the armored man shouted.
“Winia, C-rank mage!”
“Here!”
—Thunder out of the blue!
What?
For a moment, I doubted my ears.
My whole body stiffened. A chill ran through me as if a large hole had been punched in my chest, and beads of sweat began to flow from my forehead. I couldn’t bring myself to turn around. It must be a person with the same name. It must be. Something’s wrong. It’s a mistake. I must have misheard. I must have misheard because I always have a dick in my ear.
But unlike that self-rationalization, my body was honest.
Seeing me trembling, Cloudi asked.
“Katt…? What’s wrong? Are you sick?”
“Mo, mo… mo-more…”
I was going to hide between Cloudi’s breasts, so I pushed my head into that space. Cloudi’s breasts were subtly large, so even an adult man like me could easily hide my body… No, that’s not it. I’m in a state of confusion because of fear. I’m screwed.
“Ah, my chest tickles! S-stop it, not in a place like this… Everyone’s looking! T-those kinds of things are only when we’re alone… I’ll do anything for you then, ah…!”
That’s how much Winia was a terrifying existence to me.
Didn’t I escape Krassheim as if running away back then? If I were discovered here, she might try to kill me, demanding why I ran away. With her magic, I would surely be roasted in two seconds.
My past, stained with pain, quickly flashed through my mind. Ah, shit, I can’t breathe, help me, please.
“Hoo, hoo… hoo…”
“Heuh…! Huh? Katt? Wait, are you trembling?”
Then Copson shouted, oblivious.
“Ah, Winia-nim! It’s good to see you!”
I was horrified and pulled myself out from between Cloudi’s breasts. I thought I should punch Copson in the face right away. But it was already too late. Copson continued to shout.
“Hmm? Who are you?”
Winia came closer.
Hearing her voice, it was definitely her. My body trembled.
“I’m Copson, who was with you when we subjugated the Cockatrice last time!”
“Ah, that’s right. I remember. You were with that darkie then—”
The words stopped.
“—Huh?”
And our eyes met.
For a moment, a light of joy flickered across Winia’s face.
Wh-what is it? Is it okay?
I tried to say something with trembling lips.
“Da… Darkie!”
But Winia’s face instantly contorted like a demon. A shrill scream burst from my mouth.
“Eek!”
“Y-you son of a bitch! Where have you been all this time, abandoning me…! I looked so hard for… Huh?”
Winia pulled out her staff and strode over.
I quickly went behind Cloudi, hugged her waist, and hid my body.
“Cl, Cloudi-san!”
“Kyaa! K, Katt? My back is… sensitive! Kkyaang!”
“Help me!”
—Thud.
I slightly lifted my face and looked at Winia.
She had a somewhat despondent expression on her face as she looked at me.
I trembled in fear and hugged Cloudi’s waist even tighter.
“…Who is that woman?”
Winia suddenly said, glaring at me. That woman?
At those words, I came to my senses.
That’s right!
I had Cloudi!
What do you mean who is she, you fucking bitch! She’s my bodyguard! You’re dead now, you piece of shit!
Until just now, my mind had been paralyzed by fear, and I hadn’t even thought of it, but I had Cloudi. Cloudi could beat up that Winia trash with ease!
“Darkie, are you ignoring me? Wh, who is that woman!”
She started acting up again without fear. I lifted my face and looked at Cloudi. She looked back and forth between me and Winia, then opened her mouth.
“Hoh. Is that so?”
With those words, Cloudi gave a bitter smile and grabbed me, pulling me out as if lifting me up. I naturally ended up in her arms.
“After all, a good man is bound to attract women.”
Then Cloudi kissed me.
—Haaah?!
H-here? I tried to pull her away, but Cloudi exerted a strong force, restraining my body and kissing me violently. Her tongue reached as if it would touch my throat. My body twisted with pleasure.
“Da, Darkie?!”
—Chuuup, tsup. Chuu, chuu tsup!
And she started sucking blatantly, making a tremendous sound. It felt as if my soul was being sucked out of my mouth. After kissing me like that for a long time, Cloudi took her lips off me. And she looked at Winia and said.
“This one. Mine.”
“……!!!”
With a melted face, I looked at Winia, exhaling hot breaths. I had no strength in my body. Having had all my energy sucked out by Cloudi, I was relying on her just to stand.
Then Winia’s face turned red and she turned her body away.
“Y-you idiot! Darkie, you idiot! You fucking idiot!”
Winia ran away as if fleeing, cursing at me.
I watched the scene with a blank expression.
What is it? Did I chase away the monster with the power of love?
Hey, hey, the power of love is great!
Intense joy surged.
“…Katt. Do you know that child?”
Cloudi asked.
I nodded weakly.
“She seemed scared.”
“That guy’s a mage… I’ve suffered a bit from her since a long time ago.”
“You’ve suffered a lot?”
I recalled the past. It was a terrible memory. I told Cloudi about it.
“Yeah. I suffered a lot of pain. I lost a lot of money too. If she were just an ordinary opponent, I would have resisted, but because she’s a mage, I couldn’t do that and kept suffering.”
“Heh, is that so?”
Cloudi stroked my face with both hands.
“Then you don’t have to worry now that I’ll protect you, right?”
“…”
“I love you, I love you… Katt…”
Exhaling hot breaths, she kissed me again.
I, Katt, had no choice but to declare that my ownership had been transferred to Cloudi.
Looking at harem tag, yeah good luck trying to stay loyal MC
