Chapter 301 – 301. God’S Atlantis
301. God’s Atlantis
Sector 601, the Red Mist Castle, was located relatively close to today’s city, Sector 2.
The size of the sector was somewhere between a village and a city. The sector’s territory was a small forest near the village below the castle.
Despite being a sector close to the City of Beginnings, there were three reasons why the Red Mist Castle had not been conquered until now.
The first was the entry condition. To enter Sector 601, a condition had to be met, but no one knew what that condition was.
Active legions found it more profitable to conquer other sectors nearby than to investigate and conquer Sector 601’s entry condition.
The second was the high difficulty. A reasonably well-known mid-sized legion had accidentally met the entry condition for Sector 601 and attempted a conquest, but failed. They were annihilated in Sector 601, so information about the entry condition was never revealed.
Because of this, rumors spread that once you entered Sector 601, you could never leave, and even legions confident in their abilities avoided Sector 601, which had no information at all.
The third was that it wasn’t very advantageous now. In the early days of Atlantis, today’s city was the base, but now that more than 2,000 sectors had been secured, today’s city was just a starting point. Other renowned legions had established bases far from here and were active.
‘If they knew what they could get by conquering this place, they would have rushed to try…’
However, the legions decided to leave it alone. They intended to conquer it later when they became stronger, but now it was almost forgotten.
“It’s creepy…”
Lee Min-jung mumbled, grabbing Kang Myung-jin’s sleeve. She was wearing leather armor and equipped with more than four short swords.
Lee Min-jung was introverted and timid. However, there were times when she seemed strangely eerie. And her chest was flat, an A-cup.
“Everyone, move as we discussed.”
Kang Myung-jin said, tightening his grip on the halberd.
Our gazes turned to the front where Kang Myung-jin was looking.
In front of us were a castle and a village. A large castle stood above a quiet, large village. The castle was surrounded by a red mist, making it difficult to see its detailed structure from afar.
“Don’t worry. We’ve reviewed the plan several times.”
All the legion members except me nodded.
Kang Myung-jin took a step forward. But his foot couldn’t move forward. A transparent wall blocked his path.
「A condition is required to enter Sector 601, the Blood Mist Castle.」
Kang Myung-jin took out a pouch. From the pouch, which was about the size of a human fist, he took out a green caterpillar. A total of six caterpillars wriggled on Kang Myung-jin’s palm.
Kang Myung-jin counted the number of caterpillars with his eyes and then dropped them to the ground. And without a moment’s hesitation, he stepped on the caterpillars, killing them.
「The condition has been met. You may enter Sector 601, the Blood Mist Castle.」
Six lives.
That was the condition to enter Sector 601, the Blood Mist Castle.
Of course, it didn’t have to be caterpillars. Any six lives near this sector, whether human or animal, would do. As long as six lives were taken within a certain time, the condition would be met.
“This is a dangerous place. Absolutely do not act recklessly.”
Kang Myung-jin warned us once again and went inside.
•••
“Welcome! We sincerely welcome you to the Moonlit Village!”
Soon after entering the village, people gathered around us. There were nearly 200 people, all of them emaciated and with hollow eyes. It was clear at a glance that they were not in good condition.
‘It’s similar to Sector 406, the Sunset Mountain. This sector isn’t open until it’s conquered, so the villagers are expecting us to conquer it.’
Most residents of unconquered sectors reacted this way. Of course, there were exceptions.
“We have come to conquer this sector. If it’s alright, we would like someone to tell us about this sector.”
Kang Myung-jin said politely. We guarded our surroundings behind him.
From the crowd of people, a woman stepped forward. The woman, with pale skin, was as emaciated as the villagers.
‘Her face is pretty… but she’s as thin as a twig.’
She was too thin. Not enough to get my dick hard. If she had a little more meat on her, my dick would have liked it. I clicked my tongue, feeling disappointed.
“We have been waiting for saviors for a long time. We will not spare any cooperation. So please… save us.”
The people fell to their knees and bowed their heads. It was a sudden situation, but none of us were flustered. We had already been warned by Kang Myung-jin not to be flustered and to stay alert no matter what happened.
“Please get up. You don’t have to do that. We will do our best to conquer this place. So please, get up.”
Kang Myung-jin said, and people began to rise one by one.
And after that, we followed the woman to the largest house in the village.
•••
The owner of the largest house in the village, a woman named Jenny with pale skin and light brown hair, treated us with the utmost hospitality.
Lavish dishes, including a steak that looked like it could feed at least 20 people, an attitude that didn’t offend our feelings, and fine wine that seemed intoxicating just from the aroma.
We ate the dishes cautiously. After the meal, we were able to get information about the sector from Jenny.
While she was talking, Jenny paused, looking out the window.
“Ah… it’s already this late…”
The sun was beginning to set.
“A-Plan Legion, I recommend you spend the night here and start the conquest tomorrow from noon. The beings in the Red Mist Castle are all vampires… they become stronger at night when there is no sun.”
“We will be in your care tonight.”
“In our care? You are the ones who will save us and become the rulers of this sector… it is only natural for us to serve you.”
We had dinner and gathered in one room. Kang Myung-jin and Yoo In-ha sat on chairs, while Joo Seo-hyun and Lee Min-jung sat on the left bed, and Yoo Seo-hee and I sat on the right bed, looking at Kang Myung-jin in the center.
“What do you guys think of the information she gave us?”
Kang Myung-jin, who knew everything with his knowledge of the original work, asked the question. I knew his purpose was to give us the experience of organizing information and making plans.
Later on, Kang Myung-jin wouldn’t be able to handle everything alone. He was trying to train the legion members in preparation for that time.
Kang Myung-jin looked at Lee Min-jung. Lee Min-jung, flustered, gave her opinion.
“Um… well… since they’re vampires, if we go during the day when the sun is out and drive stakes into them… wouldn’t that work?”
“Lee Min-jung. As I’ve said before, you shouldn’t blindly trust modern knowledge. The chances of the vampires in this world being the same monsters as the vampires known in modern times are not high.”
“…I’m sorry, Myung-jin oppa.”
“I’m not blaming you. Just don’t forget that this world is different from the modern world.”
Next, Kang Myung-jin’s gaze turned to Joo Seo-hyun.
“…Those vampires said they don’t come out of the castle. So, we can just take them out one by one slowly and run away.”
“Hit and run. It’s a good method. But we don’t know the structure of the castle at all. Also, they said they don’t come out of the castle, not that they can’t.”
“……”
Joo Seo-hyun closed her mouth. Kang Myung-jin asked Yoo In-ha, who was sitting next to him.
“Yoo In-ha, what about you?”
Yoo In-ha had witnessed Yoo Seo-hee being violated and trained by me from beginning to end. Because of that, Yoo In-ha disliked and avoided women. She even had a slight hatred for women.
“…That woman cannot be trusted. Her kindness is excessive. And she’s suspicious. During the meal, she served us a lot of food and meat. But if you look at the bodies of the villagers, they are emaciated. They have a lot of food, but the villagers are thin… it’s too suspicious. What that woman is saying might be a lie.”
“Yoo In-ha, you’re right. Some of the information she gave us is a lie. More than anything, the reason we can’t trust her is… she’s not human.”
“……!”
No one doubted Kang Myung-jin’s words.
Kang Myung-jin had recently revealed to us that he had a skill that allowed him to know information. We had no choice but to believe in Kang Myung-jin’s attitude and actions.
After Kang Myung-jin told us about the false information Jenny had given, he asked Yoo Seo-hee for her opinion.
“Yoo Seo-hee, what do you think?”
“Um… I think it’ll be okay with Myung-jin and Yoo-jin here, right?”
“……Okay.”
Kang Myung-jin just nodded. The reactions of the others were similar. They didn’t have much expectation for Yoo Seo-hee.
Yoo Seo-hee wasn’t very interested in combat or conquest. Her combat ability was also the lowest among us. However, her abilities of silence and seduction were quite helpful in combat.
I subtly stroked Yoo Seo-hee’s butt. It was out of Kang Myung-jin’s sight. Lee Min-jung was only looking at Kang Myung-jin, and I was already in a relationship with Joo Seo-hyun, so it didn’t matter if I got caught.
“Sung Yoo-jin, what’s your opinion?”
“The red mist surrounding the castle. It’s obviously not an ordinary mist. That’s what bothers me. It’s highly likely to be poison… or maybe even a curse. That woman glossed over the red mist.”
I said without hesitation. It wasn’t something I thought of myself. I was just reciting what Kang Myung-jin thought, which I had seen in the original work.
“…And like you said, if that woman isn’t human… there’s a high chance she’s a vampire. I looked carefully earlier, and she was human. But you’re never wrong. So, in my opinion, the villagers here… are human during the day and become vampires at night.”
“Indeed… it’s Sung Yoo-jin. It’s the same information I have.”
Admiration shone in Kang Myung-jin’s eyes as he looked at me.
“As Sung Yoo-jin said, the villagers in this village turn into vampires at night. They become our enemies.”
Joo Seo-hyun frowned.
“Why didn’t you say that earlier? If they’re vampires, it’s better to kill them during the day when they’re weak.”
“They’re human during the day. They asked us to save them. That’s not a lie. The reason the villagers turn into vampires at night is because of a curse cast by the owner of the castle. If we kill the owner of the castle and conquer this sector, the villagers will become fully human. So, I’ll say it now. Try not to kill the villagers.”
“Okay.”
Starting with Joo Seo-hyun, the others also answered.
‘Kang Myung-jin didn’t say not to kill them out of sympathy. Kang Myung-jin doesn’t abandon his comrades, but he’s the type who can easily abandon others outside of his comrades.’
Once the sector is conquered and the right to rule is obtained, the residents here become assets.
‘It’s only natural that the more residents there are, the more taxes increase. In an emergency, the residents can also be conscripted as soldiers.’
Kang Myung-jin began to explain the detailed plan to us. It was the same plan he had mentioned before coming here, but there were parts that didn’t make sense until we knew the details. Now, I completely understood Kang Myung-jin’s plan.
“Wait. Then wouldn’t it be easier to just hold out here until tomorrow and attack during the day? You said they get weaker during the day.”
Joo Seo-hyun’s words were valid. But Kang Myung-jin shook his head.
“Even if we fight during the day, fighting inside the castle where sunlight doesn’t enter is no different from fighting at night. And if we conquer this sector at night, we can get additional rewards.”
Before he could explain what those additional rewards were, the sun had completely set.
The villagers began to gather around the house.
Yoo In-ha looked out the window and turned pale.
There were far more than she had expected. Perhaps Yoo In-ha’s mind was currently playing a zombie movie.
“Master, there are too many.”
“As expected. Move according to the plan.”
