Chapter 50 – Episode 8. Cherry Blossoms and Fireworks.
I woke up a little early and watched the news on my phone, and saw that Yotsukaido was in an uproar over the Central Park terrorist attack. There were 32 dead and 54 injured… It seemed like many of the injured people had died overnight. As expected, there were many posts criticizing the police for their lax response.
Surprisingly, there was also a bit of my story, and the story about the man who fought a terrorist with his bare hands was spreading like an urban legend. I think the reason my story didn’t appear in the news or official media was because Taira Yukiko and Taira Danzo were reluctant to let my story become a hot topic, so they blocked it.
Because I went to bed early last night, I woke up earlier than I usually do. When I went out to the restaurant, I saw Taira Yukiko eating her meal. Taira Yukiko also eats earlier than usual, right?
“How are you, Mother?”
“Yes, you should eat too. “Sit here.”
I bowed and sat down in the seat in front of Taira Yukiko. Soon the housekeeper brought out food, which included Sunny Side Up’s fried eggs and bread toasted with butter. Maybe it’s because I ate breakfast earlier than usual, but it was okay.
“How much damage did the people in our company suffer yesterday?”
“Fortunately, the terrorist attack occurred far away from where the people in our company were stationed, so there were no deaths, and about five people were injured when they fell while running away.”
I’m glad. Well, since the terrorist attack occurred on the way back from the food stall, it was quite far from where the Human Resources Development Center was located. The employees at the Human Resources Development Center seemed to have suffered less damage because they had good seats far away from the food stalls early in the morning.
“I have to go to my parents’ house today to report, so let’s leave early.”
Yukiko Taira finished her meal in a hurry, got ready and went out. Tyra Danzo, is she going to get scolded by her grandpa? Or are you just reporting on this incident? I decided to go back to my old home, Tokyo, for the first time in a while and see my real mother, Mrs. Jin Mi-ja. I already had a lot of missed calls, so I sent a text message saying I’m okay and drove to Tokyo.
It’s been a while since I got to rest at home for two days. Sex and all, I need to take a break for a day or two. I got hit with so many bullets yesterday that I felt like I should refrain from doing too much.
###
When I opened my eyes, it was early again. Since I woke up early once, I guess my sleep pattern adjusted to that without me even realizing it. The best time is to wake up at 8:35, right before going to work.
Since I woke up early, I had a quick meal of bread, packed some clothes, worked out for a little over an hour at one of the gyms available at the Human Resources Development Center, took a shower, changed clothes, and went to the office.
“Good morning~.”
As I entered the office and said hello, everyone in the office looked at me. Just a few days ago, I was looking at me with disapproval when I showed up just 5 minutes before work started at 9:00, and the male team members in particular were looking at me with jealousy because I was friendly with the two beauties of the team, Misano Shinoe and Chieri Mimata. I looked and there was nothing like that today.
Is it natural since he is the son of the director of the Human Resources Development Institute? Until this time, he had only directly revealed that he was his son to Misano Shinoe, so other team members must have thought he was just one of the collaterals.
“The director was the junior’s mother?”
“Haha, yes. “Didn’t I tell you?”
Chieri Mimata asked me with a slightly resentful expression why she hadn’t told me until now.
“Yes. “I knew that my junior’s Tyra was that Tyra, but I didn’t know that she was the director’s son.”
“You’re my son. Just call me junior as usual, senior.”
It looks like Mimata Chieri didn’t really call him son either, hehe, right, junior? He said this and went back to his work. Suddenly, the office became noisy again with the sounds of typing and phone calls. A big thing had happened a few days ago, and this everyday scene felt rather abnormal.
“Good morning, everyone. “Some people may be having a hard time because of work a few days ago, but the busiest training period is just around the corner, so please bear with it just a little.”
Shinoe Misano was right in every detail because the company cannot afford to let uninjured employees rest ahead of the busiest season. Since I was taking a break, it occurred to me that I also have to take a break from work tomorrow. Last Tuesday was Saburo Taira’s 35th day, so two weeks later, tomorrow was the 49th. It’s the last day of the funeral ceremony.
I guess I can talk to Shinoe Misano later when we meet alone. Or maybe Yukiko Taira could have said it in advance like before.
“I have to go to the Thailand Lagoon business, so please get ready.”
Before I could even think about it, Shinoe Misano called me. Maybe it was because he starved over the weekend, but his eyes were not funny. Until then, there were many people who were suspicious of me carrying out Shinoe Misano’s external work, but today there was no such thing at all.
Everyone seemed to think that Misano Shinoe was taking me around and giving me her business training. It’s not business education, but it’s sex education…
Since I also saved up semen over the weekend, I will be able to properly press Shinoe Misano today.
###
I came back after only two weeks, but I still couldn’t get used to my hometown. This time, many relatives came, but Aris was in Milan for work, and most of her cousins did not come, only Taira Saburo’s brothers and a bunch of collateral relatives who wanted to get Taira Danzo’s attention.
Taira Yukiko wore her formal black funeral kimono and I also wore a black suit. Taira Yukiko’s complexion was particularly bad, and she seemed to be not just because of Taira Saburo’s final 49th. She seemed to have a bad expression on her face due to the malice mixed with the whispers, ridicule, and jealousy of many people.
Her husband died quickly because of her wife’s betrayal, and now she is a person who has nothing to do with Taira, so why does she continue to take on her important role as the director of the Human Resources Development Center? The words she throws become a dagger, and Taira Yukiko It’s stuck in my chest.
Of course, all these words were said by small, small people who could not even say them in front of the president, Taira Danzo or Taira Yukiko. They are just pouring out bad comments with futile hopes that Yukiko Taira’s big position as director of the Human Resources Development Center will fall to them.
I held Yukiko Taira’s hand.
“!”
“Mom, don’t worry.”
Yukiko Taira smiled faintly at my words. It was a faint but sincere smile. I need to be strong too. Otherwise, I will catch someone who is sane.
“Hmm! Everyone came, right? Yukiko! Ryuta! “These are Saburo’s wife and son, so take the lead.”
When Taira Danzo said in front of everyone that she was Saburo’s wife, the bad comments around her stopped. I don’t know if he knew it or just did it, but it was Tyra Danzo’s grandpa Nice.
Taira Danzo, Taira Shizuku, and Taira Yukiko stood in the front, followed by me, Taira Kanna, Ichiro, and Jiro Kokoro. Alice’s mother, Fitzgerald, also stood with me. I said hello to everyone and followed the lead.
The destination was the family grave where Saburo Taira is buried. A monk was standing in front of Taira Shiburo’s tombstone, and when we all arrived, he began the final funeral rites. After chanting the Buddha’s name and pouring water on the monument several times and wiping it down, the whole event ended after about 30 minutes.
“Ruler! “Let’s go to the banquet hall!”
After hearing Taira Danzo’s words, everyone headed to the large banquet hall. It was about 5 o’clock now, so it was a little early for dinner, but when we got to the banquet hall, the meal was ready. I’ve always had a big appetite, but I couldn’t eat well in this atmosphere.
Also, at the end of the meal, Taira Danzo called each of the children and told them they had done something well. She assessed that she couldn’t do anything. Taira Ichiro, who had previously been criticized, received praise, and Taira Jiro was robbed of the shipbuilding job he had previously received. Taira Kokoro achieved some great success this time and received a press agency.
“Ryuta.”
“Yes, grandfather.”
This time it was my turn.
“I heard you made a contribution to preventing terrorism this time, right? Is there anything you would like to receive?”
Everyone murmured at Taira Danzo’s words. Did you make a contribution to preventing the recent terrorist attack? It must be a murmur. I thought for a moment and then answered.
“I have never received pocket money from my grandfather, so please give me some pocket money this time. “I don’t think it’s been long since I received my salary, but I don’t have any money.”
Everyone burst out laughing at my joke. Ichiro Taira, Jiro, and other uncles who wanted to be the next president seemed wary of Taira Danzo giving it to them because I said something excessive, but if they were asking for pocket money, it was cute.
Other affiliated families may not have thought much of it, but they must have laughed because I thought I was foolish for only asking for pocket money from the chairman of the Taira Group, which is competing to be the best in Japan.
Of course, I would like to receive something big, but if my ambitions were discovered, my uncle or aunt could send an assassin. And now was the time to invest even a small amount of money in stocks.
“Haha! “You damn bastard!”
Taira Danzo called his secretary and brought him a check. And he called me to take it.
“Here you are, you bastard! “It’s pocket money!”
“Thank you, grandfather.”
The amount written on the check was 50 million yen. You’re pretty big, Grandpa Danzo.
