Chapter 2 – Episode 1. Funeral
“Do you think that’s all? I know everything about you. Why do you think the size of the suit you are wearing right now is perfect? “The classmates you were close with, the crappy grades you got… There’s nothing I don’t know about you!”
No. Grandpa probably doesn’t know me. I am not the Hata Ryuta you know, but ■■■. I refuted Taira Danzo’s words in my mind, but of course I didn’t say it out loud. It was clear that if I had been possessed by the game world, they would have immediately admitted me to a mental hospital.
However, looking at the content of the story, it seems that surprisingly, the old man was watching me the whole time. This is because you know their friends and grades from their school days. It’s a little creepy, but I guess this is Taira Danzo’s expression of affection in its own way.
“So what does grandpa want?”
“From now on, you are Taira Ryuta. “I put you on Saburo’s family register since you were born.”
Is that possible? That meant I had two family registers. There were two identities: Jin Yong-tae, the son of Jin Mi-ja, and Taira Ryu-tae, the son of Taira Saburo. You must have two passports, right? Before I had time to think about this information, Taira Danzo continued talking.
“I’ve already informed you that you can’t go to the small, dirty company you decided to go to. You said you were going to go to work in three weeks? “Start coming to work here in three weeks.”
He handed me an employee ID card. When I picked it up and read it, it was an employee ID card that said, “Taira Ryuta, employee of Taira Group Human Resources Development Center.” It was good that the affiliation changed from a small business to a megacorp. Still, it doesn’t change the fact that I’m going to work in three weeks.
“Your father Saburo has no property of his own. “If you want to receive something, you better work hard.”
Ah… What is legacy? To me, who was waiting with excitement, the sound was like a bolt from the blue. Grandpa Taira Danzo left behind only his employee card. Ah, Mr. Saburo, save up some money in advance. Why did you die penniless?
There was a bit of a fuss because of his grandfather, but soon the monk who was going to give him Gaimyo (戒名) came and all eyes were focused on him. To explain Gaimyo, if you die with a Buddhist name, you need a Buddhist name, Gaimyo, to go to Buddha and be reborn in paradise. In Japan, if you have a Buddhist funeral, a monk will come and give you a Kaimyo. They say that the high cost of gaimyo is a social problem… This family is overflowing with money, so it probably doesn’t matter.
Well, I wasn’t interested in that, so I talked to my mother alone. According to what my mother said, she had a brief relationship with my father, Taira Saburo, during college, and it was only later that she found out that he had me. Rather, Taira Saburo was said to be responsible, but his mother reportedly refused. I don’t like a marriage without love. Still, since half of them are Saburo’s children, they said they received child support from Saburo. So he was able to live without any shortage.
Then why didn’t you go to college? Jin Mi-ja said that she thought that my house could not survive because I was a single mother. That’s why I said I didn’t study in the first place because I didn’t think of myself as a college student. She didn’t believe me even though my mom said she had money to send you to college… Jin Yong-tae, this guy… I was stupid. She just believes it when her mom tells her, she guesses on her own and doesn’t even study.
As I was talking with my mother, two middle-aged men approached us. One was small but wore glasses and looked like a sharp intellectual, and the other looked like a large samurai.
“You are Ryuta. I am your uncle, Taira Ichiro. “This is my second uncle, Jiro Taira.”
“Hello.”
“You look like someone you look like.”
“Saburo also saw her face.”
The dwarf and intelligent one was Ichiro, Taira Danzo’s first son, and the tall one was Jiro. They both complimented my face and acted friendly, but their eyes were cold when they looked at me. It’s only natural. Only one person could inherit the huge empire called the Tyra Group. I was happy because my third son died, but now that his son has appeared, I can’t think positively about him.
“I have something to say to your mother, so why don’t you say hello to your cousins over there?”
There were several young people in the direction Ichiro pointed. Everyone seemed older than me. I am the third child of Taira Danzo and Taira Saburo is the youngest, so there was a possibility that I was the youngest in the Taira family. When I think about it that way, I am also the youngest son of Megacorp.
I approached my cousins. The oldest appeared to be in his early thirties, and most were in their mid to late twenties. There are people of mixed blood, like me, and Taira Danzo seemed to be careful that only one’s own blood should flow even if other bloods are mixed.
“You are Ryuta? “Your father has passed away, so you must be the highest ranked among us.”
“What are you talking about? Tabenobu is the tallest. “You don’t think I know that he inherited some shares from his great-uncle?”
From the first meeting, Guman shows a ridiculous attitude of discussing succession rankings. The parents’ generation hasn’t even inherited the chairmanship yet. For reference, Tabenobu was Ichiro’s first son and was studying abroad in the United States, so he could not come to his funeral.
“There is no need to talk about hard things like succession from the first meeting. “I am Taira Yuuichi, the eldest son of Taira Jiro.”
Here, the oldest, Yuuichi, in his thirties, introduced himself and everyone began to introduce themselves. For your information, Taira Yuuichi seemed like a small, studious type, unlike Jiro’s son, who was a large man.
The rest also introduced themselves, but since they weren’t really interested, I just remembered their names and passed on. Because everyone’s last name was Taira, Taira, Taira, it was a bit dizzy.
Aside from Taira Yuuichi, who first introduced himself, there were two people I could remember. Of course, the criterion for remembering was appearance, that is, a beautiful woman.
The first was the woman who had just brought up the topic of Tabenobu in conversation, and she was Taira Kisa, the eldest daughter of Taira Danzo’s eldest daughter, Taira Kokoro. She was a pretty but curvy-looking woman, and she said she was doing well by launching her own clothing brand.
Usually in Japan, when a woman gets married, she takes the man’s last name, but the reason why Taira Kokoro, Taira Kisa’s mother and Taira Danjo’s eldest daughter, did not take her husband’s last name was because her husband took Taira’s last name. So, the celebrities were reporting that Taira Kokoro had ambitions to become the next president of the Taira Group.
The second woman I had my eyes on was Aris Fitzgerald.
As Aris Fitzgerald appears from her last name, she appears to have inherited much of her father’s blood as a mixed race white person, and at first glance, she was completely white. She was a woman with blonde hair, green eyes, and skin as white as her eyes. She said she worked as a model, and although she wasn’t that tall, there was nothing missing about her body and her face. In short, she was pretty and her body was nice. Because it was her model, she seemed like a slanderer.
In fact, she didn’t have much to say when she first met and she didn’t seem friendly with any of these cousins. This is because their father and mother were rivals seeking the position of head of the Tyra Group. Since Alice Fitzgerald’s mother, Nae Fitzgerald, was not seeking the position of chairman, everyone just smiled pretentiously and coveted each other’s shortcomings.
Of course, we had a few conversations with her to find out about me, but she didn’t talk to me anymore, probably because she thought I was a no-brainer. Only Aris Fitzgerald, who had no interest in succeeding the Tyra Group, continued to talk to me.
“Are you a bit handsome? You look like a Korean idol.”
“Your sister is pretty too. Does she look like a Hollywood actress?”
“Really?”
Aris was laughing at my harsh comment. Don’t you like this so much? When I shared her story, I heard that Aris’s father was a promising businessman in the United States, and although it was not a megacorporation, she was the owner of a fairly solid company. And she said that because she spent a lot of time in the United States to begin with, she did not have much interest in the Tyra group. She said she spends most of her time in Japan recently doing her modeling work, so we exchanged her Line address and decided to have a meal outside.
She spent some time chatting with Aris Fitzgerald, and before she knew it, the coffin containing Taira Saburo’s body arrived. In Japanese funerals, the coffin is brought into the house due to the custom called tsuya (通夜), which involves staying overnight next to the coffin. The relatives went to the large room and sat down next to the coffin. I hated wasting my time like this meaninglessly because of her father, who didn’t even know her face, but I had supported her child support up to this point, so I guess I’d have to endure this much.
