Chapter 18 – Episode 17 – Erebos!
Erebus. A name from some myth. When I saw the name Hero Eater next to it, I realized it intuitively. That this guy was the one who killed the veteran warrior and removed his qualification as a warrior. But what really confused me was the title attached underneath.
The one who brings destruction.
The homeless god who sent me to another world said that this world was going to perish. However, the destruction will come suddenly after hundreds of years, so I said that I would be able to enjoy it without worrying.
However, the guy named Erebos, who doesn’t know if it’s a monster or a monster, as if black smoke is spewing out in front of him, seems to emit a terrifying shape and energy that gives the impression that destruction is imminent. The first time I saw my horse’s face, I was shocked with a savage feeling, but that guy isn’t savage, it’s just terrifying. Lisbeth was completely frozen, and Ars was sweating coldly with a surprised face, as if feeling the same emotions as me.
“Grrrr!”
However, what he did later surprised us even more. We were about to get ready to run away, but the guy who was looking at us slammed his body like a cat leaping into the innermost corner of the boss room. It was crouching down, looking at us with six eyes on each of its two faces. Seeing him act like a cat with a height similar to mine, over 2 meters tall and a little less than 3 meters tall, I feel the tension in his body loosen up a bit.
“…Could that guy… Be different from what he looks like, is he a coward?”
When I said that, Lisbeth’s expression relaxed a little, and Als seemed to tighten her grip on her sword. However, since he did not know how strong he was or how he had killed the veteran warrior who was said to be over level 50, he couldn’t recklessly step out.
The moment I thought so, the magic circle on the floor of the boss room instantly became stronger, and on top of the magic circle, a blurry shape like the exit I saw after entering the dungeon appeared. Like a portal in an RPG game, the scenery outside is blurry. The sight appeared so large that my stature could barely get through it.
“Aaaaang!”
And Erebos, who saw that, started jumping into that dimension. Ars saw Erebos move and started running.
“Ah, Ars! No!”
“Liz! Prepare for checks at the entrance! Sema! You can’t let that guy go!”
Instantly grasping what Ars was thinking, I shouted at Lisbeth and started running together.
“Lizbeth! I’ll run away if it’s necessary, so stay near the entrance as Ars said!”
Seeing Lisbeth clutching her staff with both her hands, she ran after Ars to Erebos. Fortunately, the magic circle was closer to us, so we were able to block the magic circle first.
“Kiaaaaa!”
“Haaaaa!!”
Ars swung his sword at the jumping Erebos. However, the sword that entered Erebos’ neck stopped without giving any damage.
“Kiaaaaa!”
Afterwards, Erebos swung his forepaw to the side as if to get rid of Ars. After seeing that, I wrapped my foreleg around Ars and fired a soccer kick at Erebos’ foreleg.
With a puff, the hooves collided with the strangely tactile forepaws, which made it hard to tell whether they were hard or soft, and pushed away while wrapping Ars. All the monsters at the bottom of the cursed mountain range were one shot, and the soccer kick, which hadn’t felt any impact in the meantime, was pushed out of its power. This guy is strong on the subject of cowardice. I broke out in a cold sweat as I felt the tingling sensation in my hind leg muscles.
“Als! Sema!”
Lisbeth, who was at the entrance, sees us being pushed away and casts her magic. Did she say that was a fire shot? She flew to Erebos and exploded, drawing a curve as if about six fist-sized fireballs were being induced. However, Erebos only slightly frowned at the two eyes on the face where he was hit, and it seems that there is no other damage.
“Kuh, there’s not much damage…!”
Lisbeth frowns and continues to prepare her magic. For a moment, Erebos looked at Lisbeth and seemed to be aiming at her, and Ars and I ran back to divert her attention.
“Lizbeth! You need some big magic! Prepare the maximum firepower magic you can use! Sema! You take the right side!”
Saying that, Ars turned to the left of Erebos and jumped at his torso. I immediately turned right and fired a soccer kick at his side.
‘If it’s an animal like a cat, the side is soft! My side is empty dude!’
Thinking so, I threw a soccer kick that gave maximum muscle strength to the guy’s side, but his side was harder than I thought. It feels like hitting a hard rubber sheet. Ars’s sword on the other side doesn’t seem to fit at all.
“Kiaaaaa!”
Erebos rotated his huge body and swung his foot to knock Alswana away. With considerable impact, Ars and I each flew to the opposite wall and crashed into it with a thud.
“Cheuk…!”
This hurts a lot more than I thought. The wild boar monster of the cursed mountain range was my horse’s body, which was so hard that I fainted after colliding with it, and I felt the pain as if my intestines were coming up. Is this the bloody shock you see in cartoons?
“Kuh…!”
Ars on the other side also stood up trembling as he raised his sword to the ground. I was worried that Ars’ body might be weaker than mine, but I was shocked, but fortunately, it seems that he was not seriously injured.
“Als!”
Lisbeth calls out to Ars in a desperate voice. After all, it should be said that he is the one who killed the veteran warrior, but the situation is worse than expected. Lisbeth must have felt that too.
“Als! We have to run away! It’s a bunch of us!”
Hearing Lisbeth’s voice shouting that, she decided to prepare to run away and pictured in her head a route for her escape. However, Als shouted a different choice in this situation.
“No! If that guy goes outside, it won’t end with small damage! We have to stop it!”
“Ha, but Ars…!”
“I’m going to use warrior fighting…!”
When Ars said that, he immediately saw a blue aura rise from Als’ body. Could it be that energy, that fighting spirit?
“Als…! …Okay! I’ll prepare the flame blaster!”
Lisbeth closed her eyes and began to do something of her own, holding her staff in both her hands. And at Erebos, who was ignoring us and trying to jump into the portal, Ars radiated blue energy and rushed at him.
“Haaaaa!”
Speculation. Energy that is said to be a kind of buff to warriors. The speed of Ars, who emits such speculation, seems to match my top speed. He jumped up in that state and swung his sword at Erebos’ nape.
“Kyaaaaagh!”
Erebos’ body, which had not been hurt at all until now, was seen being cut by Ars’ sword. Black smoke like a liquid, not blood, spewed out from the wound, and it slowly disappeared.
“Kiaaaaagh!”
Erebos, feeling threatened by Als, chases after Als and tries to swing his foot. However, as soon as Ars landed on the ground, he quickly turned to Erebos’s side and swung his sword.
“Ha!”
“Kyaaaaagh!”
Ars and Erebos, in the boss room, wield their feet and swords, biting their tails like basketball players trying to prevent each other from entering the court. Ars’s speed seemed to match my top speed, or even slightly below it, but the turning power of his kicking and changing direction with his feet as if breaking the floor made it seem impossible to keep up with. In that state, he avoids Erebos’ feet and cuts himself, but every time he is cut, a small amount of black smoke that looks like liquid comes out, and Erebos doesn’t seem to get tired at all.
Thud! The moment he thought that, Erebos’ front foot was stamped over Ars’s head. He raised his sword to block it, but the floor Als was standing on cracked and Ars knelt down on one knee. The face of Ars, who was on his knees, was dripping with sweat, and he was breathing hard from his mouth.
“Huh…! Huh…!”
A workshop of only 1-2 minutes. Didn’t I say that a warrior’s energy is infinite? That sweat and rough breath couldn’t possibly be seen that way. In an instant, the description of the hero written on the wad of paper he received from the kwanliso came to mind. A hero can only use infinite energy, but stamina and durability are another story. If so, does that mean that even though it can be used infinitely in theory, it cannot be continued indefinitely for reasons of physical strength? As soon as I thought about it, I thought it was dangerous and tried to run to Als…
“Done! Get away from Als!”
Lisbeth, who was at the entrance, said while spreading a large red magic circle below. Right after that, Ars retreated to the wall opposite me, slashing Erebos’ feet.
“Flame Blaster!!!!”
In front of Lisbeth’s cane who shouted that, a magic circle the size of a floor spread out, and fire that reminded me of a huge flamethrower spewed out from there. Even though it was a fairly large flame, Erebos was hit by the flames that spewed out without spreading upwards or sideways.
“Kyaaaaa!!!!!”
Erebos being roasted by the flames let out a sharp sound and rolled across the floor. She evaded Erebus, took Ars and ran to the entrance where Lisbeth was. For a while, fire was emitted from Erebos, and then the flames gradually weakened and the magic circle became smaller and disappeared completely.
Erebos, which had been roasted in the flames, seemed to have turned into a golden-brown Erebos with smoke rising from his body, and his 12 eyes that had been shining red disappeared. Did you catch this…?
“Ha…! Ha…!”
For some reason, Lisbeth’s breathing is also rough. It looks like he poured a lot of Esser into it. Perhaps the hand holding the staff was weak, and the hand was shaking.
“Ha…! Ha… Lord, is he dead…?”
“Well…”
As Lisbeth questions, Als, her breath slightly restored, approaches Erebos with her sword. And after that, let’s stab Erebos with a sword…
“Kyaaaaagh!”
Erebos, who had been lying down, suddenly opened 12 eyes, blew her hind legs at Ars, and blew black spheres of smoke at Lisbeth from her mouth. Ars instantly defended with her sword and flew into the wall, and Lisbeth’s expression hardened into a look of fear.
“Lizbeth!!”
Unbeknownst to me, my body blocked Lisbeth’s path and was enveloped in the smoke of her black orb. And feeling dizzy, I lost consciousness.
