Chapter 965 – 965. Rainbow Fruit

I succeeded in clearing the dungeon.

And without exception, every dungeon cleared comes with a reward.

Something sparkling appeared before me. Filled with anticipation, I immediately reached out and snatched it. The light faded, revealing its form.

It was a white leather glove. A wing and a mace were drawn on the back of the hand.

I examined the glove from all angles. Unfortunately, I had no way of immediately discerning its abilities. I would have to return to reality and take it to a professional appraiser, or use an appraisal scroll sold at a hunter shop.

‘I left the appraisal scroll at home… I’ll have to go back to find out what this glove does.’

It was a reward from clearing a B-class closed dungeon, so it couldn’t be an ordinary item. My heart was pounding after a long time.

‘This pattern on the back of the hand. The wing and mace look exactly like the ones on Coleman’s equipment. Is this something related to the Celian Inquisitors?’

I put on the glove. It felt nice and snug on my hand.

I looked up. A portal leading back to reality was visible a short distance away. The dungeon would soon collapse.

I walked towards the portal. Levre followed behind me.

“Levre, can you go outside through the portal?”

-Possible, it is, deemed.

I paused.

Levre going into reality? That was definitely not good. Levre was listening to me now, but there was no guarantee he would do the same in reality. He was a parasitic monarch called a natural disaster in the [Warmage] world. If this guy caused an accident, it would be nearly impossible to clean up.

The only saving grace was that his summoning period was 15 days, so I could somehow fix it using a regression ticket.

‘I can’t take him out of the dungeon just because I have a regression ticket. It’s too precious to use on something like this.’

So, I had to kill Levre here. Was it possible? If I ambushed and killed him before he teleported away, it seemed possible.

“Levre, you’re not going out. Stay here.”

-My, death, you, desire?

“That’s right. You’re too dangerous to take outside.”

I didn’t want reality to become an apocalypse. Even if Levre swore to follow my orders, I couldn’t trust him. There was no reason to take a bug, not even a beautiful one, with me while risking everything.

Levre stared at me. Levre silently expressed his dissatisfaction with his one eye. I didn’t back down.

-…Understood. I, respect, you.

“Good thinking. You’ll die here, but you’re not actually dying, you’re just being reverse-summoned back to your original world. I’ll summon you again later.”

Of course, I had no intention of summoning him again. It was more beneficial to summon Mireyeong than this measly larva.

-Here, can, I, do, as, I, please?

“Do as you please. But never come out of the portal.”

-Understood.

This dungeon would collapse soon anyway. There was nothing he could do inside the dungeon without going outside. Go outside the city? Even if he did, how far could he go? Levre’s teleportation wasn’t invincible either.

“Then I’m going. See you later.”

-Farewell.

“Yeah.”

I turned my back on Levre and went out of the dungeon through the portal.

The space changed drastically. The association employees waiting around the dungeon were startled. Among them was Kang Seok-soo, who had stayed behind instead of going to the hospital. Kang Seok-soo looked surprised and quickly approached me.

“You succeeded in clearing the dungeon? How did that happen?”

“Your guess was wrong. He couldn’t get up after I landed a proper final blow.”

“Damn it… I should have focused more on clearing the dungeon. My hasty judgment ruined my career.”

Kang Seok-soo sighed.

Then, questions from the association employees poured in. They were very interested, probably because of the unique nature of this dungeon. I answered their questions appropriately while keeping an eye on the dungeon.

‘Levre. That bastard might disobey me and come out into reality. I have to kill him the moment he comes out.’

I couldn’t easily trust the association employees here. They were all weaker than me. That’s why I kept an eye on the dungeon myself. The dungeon disappeared. Levre had kept his word.

I headed to the hospital with Kang Seok-soo. My left ankle was still a bit uncomfortable since I hadn’t used full recovery yet.

‘I’ll pretend to be a little hurt and then use full recovery when I get back.’

And the reason I followed him to the hospital was because I had something to say to Kang Seok-soo.

“Kang Seok-soo, that offer you made before. Is it still valid?”

Kang Seok-soo, with a bandage on his head, widened his eyes as if he had heard something unexpected, then smiled.

“Of course. I had a feeling you would join us.”

“That’s funny. I saw your surprised face just now.”

“I’ll tell you in advance, we don’t have a lot of funds. The support the guild can give you is limited.”

“I don’t expect that. If I wanted that, I would have joined a large corporation. What’s important is that I get paid for my work and that my will is respected.”

“That’s a given. Our Seventy Tier will be different from existing guilds. However, you’ll have to cooperate to some extent with guild-related matters.”

“I know. A guild is a guild, after all. And it’ll benefit me if the Seventy Tier guild grows bigger.”

I negotiated with Kang Seok-soo, signed the contract, and then went home.

Levre stared at the portal Seong Yu-jin had entered, deep in thought. Beyond this portal was a planet with countless hosts. Seong Yu-jin’s reaction made it clear. But Levre decided to follow Seong Yu-jin’s words.

Levre had a rough idea of Seong Yu-jin’s abilities. They were beyond the norm. Even with hundreds of billions of parasitic hosts, it would be difficult to do anything to Seong Yu-jin. Seong Yu-jin’s mind was more robust than his, making parasitism impossible. In the end, he would fail and return to his original world.

Levre wandered around inside the collapsing dungeon.

Levre wanted to reproduce. For him, reproduction stemmed from the desire to survive. Giving up and accepting death was not something Levre’s instincts would allow.

And he found a way. In the collapsing small world, he discovered a gap that led somewhere. It was a gap that only Levre, who was sensitive to mental waves, could find.

-Not, Seong Yu-jin’s, world. Different, world.

Judging from the brief analysis of Seong Yu-jin’s personality, Seong Yu-jin wouldn’t care what happened to other worlds as long as his own world was fine. And he had said that he could do whatever he wanted except go out of the portal.

Levre telepathically commanded the parasitic hosts.

Suicide.

The parasitic hosts and parasitic insects died en masse. Of course, it wasn’t ordinary suicide. The energy that the parasitic insects had absorbed from the parasitic hosts all gathered to Levre.

-Energy, sufficient.

Before teleporting, he briefly looked at the outside world connected to this place. A huge presence was felt. A presence powerful enough to be called a god. The god was moving further away. That god had already lost interest in this collapsing world.

He had no interest in Levre either. He knew that Levre would naturally disappear as this small world collapsed.

-Carelessness, fatal.

Levre was pleased with that arrogance. He was called a parasitic monarch, but his essence was a parasite that clung to a host to continue living. The more careless the host was, the higher the parasite’s survival rate. And secretly approaching the host was the most basic thing for a parasite.

The world was collapsing.

Space was breaking and falling down. It was a tremendous sight, but in the end, it was just a phenomenon.

Levre, floating in the air, waited for the perfect timing.

Just before the gap closed. At a moment when no one was paying attention.

-Now.

Levre succeeded in teleporting to another world.

It was a dark world. Corpses wandered around, screaming in pain. Monsters roamed everywhere, tormenting the corpses.

-Reproduction, start.

He scattered parasitic insects everywhere. They parasitized everything they could.

-Infection, activity, premature. Will, not, do.

He sensed the presence of powerful beings. If he recklessly engaged in infection activities like in the city of Revillidi, he would be killed instantly.

-Host, temporary, coexistence.

Of course, the host didn’t know that. It was a unilateral coexistence.

-Hatchery, production, necessary.

Deep underground, he needed a parasitic insect queen and a hatchery for parasitic insects. He would disappear in 15 days, but once he created a hatchery, his descendants would not disappear and would continue to reproduce.

-Parasitize, evolve, reproduce.

The parasitic monarch began parasitizing in the territory of an evil god.

And 15 days later, Levre was reverse-summoned and disappeared. But the hatchery and the parasitic insect queen he left behind continued to parasitize, evolve, and reproduce according to Levre’s orders.

Back home, I used an appraisal scroll on the gloves I got as a reward for clearing the dungeon. This appraisal scroll was very useful. It could appraise almost anything. It even included items drawn from the random draws in the Play Life app.

The effect was top-notch. However, it was quite expensive. One appraisal scroll cost over 20 million won. If you went directly to a hunter shop to get an item appraised, it would cost less than half that price.

‘But appraisal scrolls have their own advantages.’

If you get an item appraised at a hunter shop, the shop will know the item’s information. And there’s a chance that the information might leak out. But if you use an appraisal scroll, you don’t have to worry about that at all.

The method of using an appraisal scroll was simple. You just had to place the item to be appraised on top of or below the scroll and tear off a corner of the scroll.

Then, ta-da! Amazingly, letters would appear on the appraisal scroll, telling you the name and abilities of the item.

The mages in reality seemed to think of appraisal scrolls as great records of the universe, but I wasn’t interested in the principles behind them. If it was convenient, that was enough for me.

‘Let’s see. The name of the glove is Inquisitor’s Glove. It’s not surprising that it’s exactly as the name suggests. The effect is…’

Once every 24 hours, it had the effect of imbuing an item with holy power for 10 minutes.

‘Is this the same power that Inquisitor Coleman used on his mace?’

If it was holy power, it would be very effective against evil or impure enemies. I smirked.

‘There should be a lot of demons in the Play World. This glove will be a great help. If I put it in the Ascension to Light and enhance it, it will be even more effective. And while I’m at it, let’s go into the Ascension to Light world.’

Of course, not right now. I would rest a bit first.

***

[You have selected Ascension to Light.]

[Starting the game.]

I entered the Ascension to Light world.

Right now, it was the time when I, Namgung Rin, Namgung Seol, and a coachman were leaving the Namgung Clan for Nakwol Mountain. The purpose was to cure Namgung Seol’s Nine Yin Severed Meridians. Namgung Seol and I were already engaged. Namgung Rin was joining us ostensibly to learn from the Nakwol Goddess. But in reality, she was my sex toy, so of course, she was coming along.

We didn’t have any escorts.

The Namgung Clan trusted my and Namgung Rin’s skills, or rather, my third-stage Aura Mastery. And the distance between Anhui Province, where the Namgung Clan was located, and Nakwol Mountain wasn’t that far. It was about a week’s carriage ride from Anhui Province. In this world, that distance was very close.

Just before leaving Anhui Province, Mireyeong secretly joined us. She used magic to sneak into the carriage without the coachman noticing.

“My lord! We’re finally leaving!”

She said cheerfully, sitting across from me. I could feel the traces of the magic she used. It was familiar. It was probably a spell to block the sound from going outside.

“Why are you so happy?”

“I was frustrated because I couldn’t see you often, my lord. Now we don’t have to worry about the Namgung Clan’s eyes, right?”

“No. We’ll have to worry about the Nakwol Goddess’s eyes when we get to Nakwol Mountain.”

Nakwol Goddess. Mireyeong sighed deeply at that name.

I lifted my bare foot and placed it on Namgung Rin’s back. Namgung Rin was lying naked on the floor of the carriage. Her pure white back was at the perfect height for me to put my foot on.

For reference, Namgung Seol, who was sitting next to me, had her foot on Namgung Rin’s head. She hadn’t even taken off her shoes.

“Sister, your pussy has been leaking water and making the carriage floor dirty. Can’t you hold it in?”

Lmao MC didn’t get the reverse summon notification when the dungeon portal collapsed and he thought that his summon already get reverse summoned. Either this would become potential plot hole or author intended MC character to be like that.

Remember kids, thinking too much with your d*ck is bad.

  2. Myaha says:

Oh right, why the f*ck MC didn’t reverse summon manually? Well, he can still summon it again then enslave/hypnosis it with skill or items then ordered it to kill all parasites.
