Kukukarak, the prince of Braktasia, spoke in a solemn tone. He wasn’t talking to me. He was talking to the other Braktasians around him. I didn’t know what he meant, but I could tell he was up to something. I swung my sword and cut off his right ear.

Kukukarak’s scream was soon buried in the sounds of battle.
The people who came with me were doing well, but the moment I captured the Braktasian prince, their morale plummeted, and they couldn’t help but watch my every move.

Reisy’s father, my father-in-law, approached me. His eyes, as he looked at Kukukarak, were colder than a murderer’s. He had betrayed humanity by making a deal with Kukukarak, and then he was betrayed by Kukukarak. He looked like he wanted to tear Kukukarak to pieces right now if I allowed it.
“We can’t kill him.”
“I know. If this guy dies, we’ll all die too.”
Even though we had taken over the command center, it didn’t change the fact that we were in the middle of enemy territory. The invasion was still ongoing. There was no way that these guys, who had technology beyond Earth’s, would lose just because their commander died. Earth was probably still fighting. Just by looking at the monitors in the command center, I could get a rough idea of the situation on Earth.

Kukukarak’s thin, rough voice could be heard. But none of us believed him. It only irritated us.

A fist flew, and he went silent.

The floor moved and started moving quickly. The secret passage was heading towards the king’s residence. The Braktasian king could use the secret passage, so he had to be dealt with first.
The wall of the secret passage opened. Thirty royal guards, including the king, were waiting. As I expected, they were planning to retake the command center using the secret passage.
