‘I’m fucked!’
Sang Joo-ok clutched his head.
Before his eyes, the dazzlingly bright sea shimmered. Waves crashed in from the sea. He was sitting on the beach, building a sandcastle. A sandcastle called the Glory Society. The sandcastle, meticulously crafted, was swept away by a single wave.
‘Is there any way to fix this…?’
Deny it.
Blame it all on Sung Yu-jin, the good-for-nothing son of the Cheonil Group.
Considering Sung Yu-jin’s notoriety, it would be easy. There were still plenty of posts online criticizing Sung Yu-jin.
But Ma Young-jae had already uttered the name of the Glory Society. The names of the Glory Society members were being tossed around. What was even more fucked up was that most of those names were true. If people investigated even a little bit seriously, the Glory Society would inevitably be exposed.
‘It’s impossible to hide it completely. The only saving grace is that not many Glory Society executives know me.’
Sang Joo-ok clenched his fist. His mind began to race.
The Glory Society was exposed overnight. South Korea would fall into chaos. That time would be the very time he could move.
During that time, he had to reorganize the Glory Society. Change the Glory Society to a different name, a different group. Leaving South Korea would be the best option, but even Sang Joo-ok couldn’t just throw away everything he had built up over decades without any regrets.
-These guys are all members of the Glory Society! Look!
On the screen, Sung Yu-jin was beating a man he had forcibly dragged along. The sound of leather tearing leaked from the speakers. Sung Yu-jin’s demeanor was quite ferocious, and the reporters were glancing at each other, wondering if they should intervene.
Then, something happened that shocked the reporters. The body of the man being beaten transformed into a monster resembling a parrot. It was a monster that was clearly not human.
-It’s a Bartio! A Bartio monster!
-To think that even Bartios were pretending to be humans!
-Damn it. How many monsters are pretending to be human?!
The reporters cursed.
Monsters pretending to be human, infiltrating human society, and dominating humans. That common conspiracy theory was revealed to be a reality. As humans, they couldn’t help but feel a sense of alarm.
-This guy is Jo Jang-soo, the president of Seoul National University. He was in charge of recruiting talented people from Seoul National University into the Glory Society. Hey, tell me about the Glory Society. Who else is in the Glory Society?
-Heh, heh heh. Screw you! Our Glory Society is ruling South Korea! You can’t escape the blade of the Glory Society!!
Sang Joo-ok frowned. The Jo Jang-soo he knew wouldn’t talk like that. Though he looked like a parrot on the outside, he was a sharp and weighty figure, like an eagle.
‘Drugs? Mind control?’
Either way, Sung Yu-jin would use it without hesitation. Because Sung Yu-jin was a madman.
-You evil bastard!
Sung Yu-jin suddenly lashed out. He punched Jo Jang-soo hard, then raised his red sword and beheaded him. Jo Jang-soo’s bleeding head was placed on the desk.
The reporters recoiled in horror. Even so, they hadn’t expected him to just kill him outright.
-Mr. Sung Yu-jin! Why did you kill him?!
-I am a Guardian. For humanity, for South Korea, I killed a monster.
-Well, even so, he seemed to have intelligence… Wasn’t that too hasty? We could have talked to them!
-Just because a monster can speak human words doesn’t mean it’s not a monster. A monster is a monster.

Sung Yu-jin suddenly lashed out. He grabbed the reporter he was talking to and threw him into the center of the press conference. The reporter, who was holding a camera and a laptop, was unable to regain his balance due to the shock.
Sung Yu-jin stepped on his back to subdue him. The red blade in his right hand gleamed menacingly.
-Mr. Sung Yu-jin! What are you doing?!
-Are you oppressing a reporter?!
-Looking at what you’re doing now, I don’t know who the monster is!
The reporters shouted. For their rights. There was also a naive calculation that he wouldn’t kill a reporter while broadcasting a press conference live.
Sung Yu-jin looked at the live broadcast camera and shouted.
-People of the nation! This damn group called the Glory Society is eating away at South Korea! The Glory Society is the next group to dominate the world after Korea! The Glory Society must be eradicated! That’s what’s best for humanity! But this guy, despite being human, took the side of the Glory Society! It’s not just that he received money from the Glory Society. This guy betrayed humanity by siding with the Glory Society!
Blue force flowed from Sung Yu-jin’s body, engulfing the surroundings. His eyes, like those of a drug addict, were filled with nothing but rage.
Sang Joo-ok trembled involuntarily. That was a mad inquisitor, wasn’t it?

The inquisitor brought down the red sword at the same time as the verdict. The verdict was death. The sword severed the head of the traitor to humanity.
Red blood splattered on Sung Yu-jin. Sung Yu-jin didn’t care at all. His murderous gaze turned to the members of the Glory Society who had been dragged in.
-Enemy of humanity… Tell me about the Glory Society!
The interrogation continued.
The terrified monsters told everything about the Glory Society. And they were killed by Sung Yu-jin.
At the blood-soaked press conference, Sung Yu-jin returned to a calm state. There was no madness, no murderous intent, no anger. Sang Joo-ok was more afraid of that.
-We must kill the Glory Society for humanity. There are many humans in the Glory Society besides monsters. Like the reporters here. They are already traitors to humanity. They are Judases who sold out humanity. They are enemies of humanity. We must kill them all to protect humanity.
-Mr. Sung Yu-jin. Even so, you don’t have the right to judge humans.
-I am a Guardian. I made a contract with an angel to kill monsters and protect humanity. I will fulfill that duty.
It was then.
A golden light appeared behind Sung Yu-jin. The golden light softly filled the press conference space. Sung Yu-jin and the reporters were bewildered. A pair of pure white wings appeared and disappeared within the golden light. The golden light also disappeared.
An angel.
An angel had come and gone.
-The angel told me! To kill the enemies of humanity!
Sung Yu-jin shouted.
Sang Joo-ok felt all the strength drain from his body.
An angel had intervened directly. Indirectly, it was just a brief appearance and disappearance, but the fact that an angel had appeared at this point was important. What did this mean? It meant that the angel supported Sung Yu-jin.
An angel was God’s representative. A super idol for religious people. The aftermath was obvious. Even religious people would go crazy.
-For humanity!!
A mad slaughterer had gained justification and began to wield it.
Sung Yu-jin revealed the list of Glory Society members on the TV screen. Most of them were members of the Glory Society, and some who were not members were mixed in. Sang Joo-ok turned off the TV.

“Chairman.”
His secretary called. Sang Joo-ok looked at him. He spoke with a stiff face.
“The members of the Glory Society are in an uproar. They are demanding a solution.”
Sang Joo-ok let out a hollow laugh.
A solution?
What solution was there in this situation?
The justification was already on their side. It was too late to negotiate. The angel had taken Sung Yu-jin’s side and acknowledged the justification. Humanity would not forgive the Glory Society. The Glory Society had become a veritable enemy of humanity.
‘My plan is shattered. After ruling South Korea with the Glory Society… I was planning to slowly reveal the other races and integrate them…’
Humans had defined other races as monsters.
It reminded him of the Middle Ages of humans. The time when witch hunts were rampant. Of course, he hadn’t directly experienced that era.
“Tell them. The Glory Society is over. If they want to live, they should run away on their own.”
The only option was every man for himself.
“Pack what you need. We’re running away too. We’ll have to hide in the villa we prepared in Jeju Island.”
The secretary was taken aback by Sang Joo-ok’s order.
“Are you really abandoning the Glory Society this easily?”
“I can’t die with the Glory Society. If I don’t die, if I just live, I can try again in a few decades. We have longer lifespans than humans. We have to actively use that.”
“Don’t we have congressmen who are cooperating with us?”
“There’s no one as untrustworthy as politicians. And no matter how much of a congressman they are, they can’t ignore the justification of being for humanity. Sung Yu-jin. That madman would hang and burn even congressmen. There’s no time. Prepare.”
“Understood.”
“To buy time to escape, we will urgently execute the MP Project.”
“I will execute it immediately.”

The press conference was over.
I sat on a chair in the waiting room and checked the public opinion on the internet with a tablet PC.
The internet was burning fiercely.
I killed a human? That wasn’t the problem. The fact that monsters were wearing human skin and dominating humans was more shocking than the fact that I openly killed a human. Besides, the angel had acknowledged me.
If it weren’t for the angel, this world would have been destroyed by monsters. As such, the angel was the god and savior of this world. An angel who had no interest in the human world but acted for humans anyway.
‘I didn’t know the angel would help me. What’s the purpose?’
The angel who had come without a word had disappeared without a word. It didn’t ask for anything in return. That was very unsettling.
