The Japanese Prime Minister shouted. The Japanese ministers gathered in the Prime Minister’s office shrank back at his fury.

Explosions erupted on the monster’s body. The lump of meat, once a single mass, shattered into pieces, scattering in all directions. That was the beginning of the disaster.
The small pieces of meat used their psychic powers to latch onto the Self-Defense Force members. Even if the soldiers fired their rifles, most of the bullets were useless against the psychic powers. The small pieces of meat burrowed into the soldiers like parasites.
It was an infection. The infected soldiers turned into lumps of meat, neither vampire nor anything else. They roamed Tokyo, attacking humans. Then, at some point, they would walk to the main body at the Tokyo Tower and be absorbed.

A mushroom cloud billowed over Tokyo. The Minister of Defense held a press conference, declaring that he took full responsibility. He then committed suicide by poison at midnight that day.
However, to their horror, they failed to achieve their goal. The monster was still alive in the devastated ruins of the city. It was smaller, but it had not been annihilated.
“It didn’t die even with a nuclear bomb! This is impossible!”
The Prime Minister shouted. He had received reports that the lump of meat was spreading throughout Japan. His mental state was faltering. There was no way to respond. Use another nuclear bomb? That wasn’t a viable option unless they wanted to burn down all of Japan.

Outside, there was a damn plague and a monster roaming around. In the Prime Minister’s eyes, Japan was already doomed. His approval rating had already fallen to single digits.
