Chapter 1552 – 1552. Saint Unicorn
‘Oh Junhyuk. He’s too calm again.’
I glanced at Oh Junhyuk. He was different from when I saw him before. From his aura to his appearance.
People change. The me from five years ago and the me now are bound to be different, even if they seem similar. If nothing happens, the change is slow, but if it’s sudden, it can only mean something happened.
‘He looks haggard overall.’
His face is gaunt. His cheeks are sunken, and there are dark circles under his eyes.
The Oh Junhyuk I know is a guy who likes to play around. He also worked out consistently, but that was to pick up girls. But looking at him now, it seems like picking up girls is the last thing on his mind.
He took out some clothes from a drawer and gave them to me.
“What’s this?”
“It’s clothes. There are internal club regulations, so change into these. That’s the only way you can get inside.”
I didn’t like it, but I changed as he told me. It wasn’t just anyone, it was Oh Junhyuk himself telling me, so I decided to listen.
After roughly changing, I went to the VIP table with Oh Junhyuk. The rooms were all full, so that was impossible. He sat across from me, drinking beer and grinning.
“How is it? The quality is amazing, right?”
I looked around. Everyone, men and women alike, were exceptionally good-looking. Especially a few of the women, who were eye-poppingly beautiful.
“Why is the standard so high here? How do you manage the quality?”
“We filter them. If they’re too ugly, they can’t get in. And coming in wearing weird clothes like you is absolutely not allowed.”
“Isn’t that discrimination a problem?”
“Why wouldn’t it be? There are more than a few posts online criticizing our club. Last time, some crazy guy even protested in front of the club.”
“For a place with problems, it’s operating pretty well?”
“Ironically, those rumors have brought in more customers. Good-looking guys and girls want to hang out in places with good-looking people.”
“Your profits must be better too. If the quality is good, rich bastards will come looking.”
I glanced at the second floor. That’s where the rooms are. The rich VIPs must be watching from up there. And if they find a woman they like, they’ll call her up.
“That’s right. More than half of our profits come from those people. They’re very grateful people. Hehe.”
I drank beer with him. I had been curious about something since earlier, but I had been holding back, but now I couldn’t hold it in anymore. I decided to ask him directly.
“Oh Junhyuk. Are you doing drugs?”
At the sudden question, Oh Junhyuk’s face instantly hardened. He looked around nervously. Thanks to the loud music, it seemed like no one had heard properly. Even if they had, they would pretend not to.
“Why are you suddenly talking crazy?”
“You look exactly like a drug addict right now. Five Sad. Is it even a proper guild?”
“Haa. Yujin, I don’t do drugs. And our guild is a proper one. We even cleared a B-class dungeon recently.”
Then, Oh Junhyuk slammed his beer glass on the table. He looked around again and said,
“And even if I did do drugs, it’s none of your business.”
“This bastard is definitely doing drugs.”
“I’m telling you I’m not.”
It’s true that it’s none of my business. Whether Oh Junhyuk does drugs or commits murder, I don’t think it has much to do with me. If it seems dangerous, I can just cut ties.
But shouldn’t I pay back my debt before cutting ties?
Before I awakened the Game Life app, I received a lot of help from Oh Junhyuk during my freshman year of college. If it weren’t for Oh Junhyuk, I might have dropped out of college. If I had known I would awaken the Game Life app, I would have, but at the time, dropping out of college wasn’t an easy choice.
‘This guy helped me back then, so I should help him too.’
It’s a bit annoying, but it’s not something I can’t handle.
“You said you wanted to become an association employee, right? I’ll help you. I know a sister at the association. We’re graduating soon. After graduation, I’ll ask her to get you a job at the association.”
It’s Baek Jieun, an executive at the association. She’ll accept someone like Oh Junhyuk. The association is short on people these days anyway.
“Thanks for the offer, but I’m satisfied with the Five Sad guild right now. I get a lot of help from the guild.”
If you’re satisfied, that’s fine. But I had a bad feeling. Usually, in shady organizations like this, the first ones to be abandoned when problems arise are the lower-level guys like Oh Junhyuk.
I don’t think a guild called Five Sad will last long. If someone’s tail gets stepped on, an investigation will start immediately, and the Five Sad guild will be destroyed.
‘If I leave this guy here, he’ll ruin his life.’
If it weren’t for the debt from freshman year, I would have left him to ruin his life.
‘I received help, so I should help him. First, should I report to the police that drugs seem to be circulating in this club?’
A brief silence followed. Oh Junhyuk lowered his head and fidgeted with his fingers. His eyes were shaking. It seemed like a kind of anxiety symptom.
Just as he was about to open his mouth, someone came over. It was a man wearing a suit, which didn’t fit the club’s atmosphere.
Oh Junhyuk’s eyes widened as if he was surprised to see him.
“Junsu hyung?! W-Why are you here?”
“The Master sent me.”
The man, who briefly answered Oh Junhyuk, looked at me and bowed politely.
“Hello, I am Lee Junsu from the Five Sad guild. The guild master wants to meet with Sung Yujin. Could you spare some time?”
The man called Lee Junsu had an unusual aura. I couldn’t tell his exact skill level, but he was definitely at least a B-class or higher. Even if he was an A-class, I didn’t think I would lose.
“Okay. I’ll meet them. Lead the way.”
I got up from my seat. Oh Junhyuk was sweating profusely and rolling his eyes. He seemed flustered by the sudden situation.
“Oh Junhyuk. What are you doing? Let’s go.”
“No. I don’t understand. Why would the guild master want to see you… You didn’t even say you were coming.”
I was led by Lee Junsu to a room. It was clearly a room for VVIPs only.
Inside, a woman was sitting in the center.
She had a black bob and a tight-fitting mini dress. Her voluptuous chest and slender waist were eye-catching. She had a mix of decadent and sexy charm.
“Welcome. I’m Noh Jisu, the representative of this club and the guild master of Five Sad.”
“I’m Sung Yujin.”
“You’re speaking informally?”
“S-Sorry, Master. This guy isn’t usually like this…”
Oh Junhyuk waved his hands. Regardless, I sat down. Oh Junhyuk couldn’t even sit down, too busy watching Noh Jisu’s reaction.
“Junhyuk, you should sit down too. You came with your friend, you should enjoy yourself.”
“Y-Yes, ma’am!”
Oh Junhyuk sat across from me. Lee Junsu was wiping the door outside. I could feel his presence at the door. He was guarding the door in case of an emergency.
“Junhyuk, if you had told me you had a friend like this coming, I would have personally guided Sung Yujin.
“That’s… he came suddenly… I’m sorry.”
“No, I’m not really blaming you. I’m a fan of Sung Yujin, so I wanted to meet you at least once.”
Noh Jisu smiled subtly. It was a smile that wasn’t exaggerated but still drew men’s attention. She was no ordinary woman.
Normally, I wouldn’t be able to see through her, but now I had a skill that allowed me to see a woman’s true feelings.
‘Taste of the Vagina! Activate!’
I could taste Noh Jisu’s vagina on the tip of my tongue. It had a slightly sour taste.
[Noh Jisu, 28 years old, not a virgin.
Sex experience: 12
Number of partners: 3
Lust level: 50
Inner thoughts: Sung Yujin. A hunter who’s been rising in popularity lately. If I could bring him into the guild… He seems young, should I try to seduce him?]
Even if I fall for Noh Jisu’s seduction, I’m not joining a guild like this.
I asked her directly.
“Are you selling drugs here?”
“…What are you talking about all of a sudden?”
[Noh Jisu’s inner thoughts: What? Does he know something? Did Oh Junhyuk say something?]
“Look at Oh Junhyuk’s face. He looks like a drug addict. Aren’t you feeding my friend drugs and using him?”
“You seem to have misunderstood. Junhyuk has been working hard lately. Please don’t undermine his efforts with such nonsense.”
[Noh Jisu’s inner thoughts: He seems to be testing me… What does he want?]
“Isn’t the drug that’s been popular for the past few years called Flash Powder?”
A powder made by grinding the petals of a plant-type monster called Perelplasia. This yellow powder was famous and serious enough to be mentioned in the news several times.
“What are you talking about? We’re not that kind of place. That’s the problem these days. If it’s a club, people start by looking at it negatively.”
“Well, that’s because you have a record. If you’re so confident, you can report it to the police, right?”
“Haa. I’m telling you, it’s not like that. If you want to report it to the police, go ahead. Our club is clean.”
[Noh Jisu’s inner thoughts: Report? Go ahead and report as much as you want. Do you think I’m paying off the police chief for nothing? And how many people are involved here? Do you think the police will move with just one report?]
Noh Jisu was sneering at me internally. If the police chief was involved, it meant it wasn’t a small operation.
‘Are other chaebols or politicians involved? Maybe other guilds are involved too.’
It didn’t seem like Noh Jisu could handle everything alone.
“Who’s behind you? It can’t be a simple criminal organization… And there’s no reason for a company to do something like this… Is it from overseas?”
“Haa. I’m telling you, we don’t sell drugs. We don’t distribute them either. It’s not right to say that without any evidence.”
[Noh Jisu’s inner thoughts: Does he know that China is involved? No. If he did, he wouldn’t have acted like this. He’s just testing me. There’s no way he knows about the Yellow River Gate. It’s an organization that’s not even known in China.]
“The Yellow River Gate of China. Did you really think I wouldn’t know?”
Noh Jisu’s expression hardened. She dropped her friendly attitude and looked at me with cold eyes.
“What do you want? Don’t beat around the bush, just tell me.”
“Let Junhyuk go. This guy needs to get a job at the association. He’s not someone who should rot here.”
“…Okay. Junhyuk, you’re no longer a member of our guild. Thank you for your hard work. I believe you won’t spread the guild’s secrets. If you do, you’ll only be committing suicide.”
[Noh Jisu’s inner thoughts: Sung Yujin knows things that Oh Junhyuk doesn’t know. It seems like he came here knowing a lot already. Let’s back down for now. I’ll think about silencing him later…]
“Huh? W-Wait a minute. Guild Master! What are you talking about all of a sudden! I was prepared to be buried with the Five Sad guild!”
“That’s enough. Flash Powder. I told you not to touch it, but you did, didn’t you?”
“T-That’s not just me, the others too…!”
“Junhyuk, you broke the rules. We’re done here. Would you please leave with your friend?”
I stepped forward. I couldn’t back down like this.
“Wait. My conditions aren’t over yet.”
“Haa. What do you want? Do you need money?”
“No. Give us a turn. First, give me a turn, then give Junhyuk a turn. Then I promise I’ll keep my mouth shut until I die.”
Oh Junhyuk’s eyes widened. And he looked at Noh Jisu as if he was expecting something.
Noh Jisu’s face crumpled.
“You crazy bastard! Get out of here right now! If you don’t leave, it’s war!”
I decided to back down for now. I could feel the presence of hunters gathering here. Even for me, it was impossible to fight the Five Sad guild alone.
“I’m warning you, watch your mouth. As you know, there are many people involved with us.”
•••
“You crazy bastard!!!”
As soon as we got outside the building, Oh Junhyuk grabbed my collar.
“Because of you! Because of you, everything’s ruined! Everything’s ruined!!”
