Chapter 66 – Episode 66 – Lotto Girl (2)
“Wow, that’s great.”
I genuinely congratulated Yoon Da-jung.
It seemed she had won third place, just as I intended.
“But why did you say it didn’t work out?”
When she said it didn’t work out, I briefly wondered if I had checked the numbers wrong. I had clearly given her a third-place winning ticket based on the numbers I saw with the Luck Tracker.
“Ah. I’m sorry… Um, it’s just that if I said I won, I thought you might take the lottery ticket you gave me…”
Yoon Da-jung fidgeted and confessed honestly.
Her cute behavior made me chuckle.
Well, I guess she could think that way. A million won is a lot of money.
Even when I first got a job and received a salary of over a million won, I couldn’t really grasp the large sum of money that came in at once.
“Why would I do something so petty? Don’t worry. I have a lot of money.”
“Oh. You have a lot of money?”
Yoon Da-jung’s pretty eyes widened. I nodded without hesitation.
I’ve won the lottery first prize three times and have over 4 billion won. I can’t say I have little money, at least.
My balance has increased 1000 times compared to when I had 4 million won, and I’ve become very relaxed mentally.
“Yeah.”
“Wow…”
Yoon Da-jung looked at me with envy. Her eyes sparkling, she asked me.
“So, um… are you like… a second-generation chaebol or something?”
That’s not it.
Even with 4 billion won, I’m just a rich ordinary person.
“That’s not it.”
“Huh? Then what are you?”
“I just suddenly got a lot of money recently.”
“Wow. Is that even possible? Tell me your secret.”
I chuckled at Yoon Da-jung’s surprised question and replied.
“Secret? You’re doing it too. The lottery.”
“Huh?”
I pointed with my finger. Yoon Da-jung turned her gaze in the direction my hand was pointing.
“Lottery store… oh?”
And then Yoon Da-jung finally realized that the writing on the lottery store was different.
Congratulations on winning first prize.
The number of times had increased from the previous 16.
“That’s my story.”
“That… are you saying you won first prize?”
“Yeah.”
Yoon Da-jung looked at me as if she couldn’t believe it.
“Ah, are you saying you won the lottery first prize?”
“Hey, hey. Quiet down. Everyone’s looking.”
Yoon Da-jung’s loud surprise made the people nearby look at us strangely.
“Ah, I’m sorry.”
Yoon Da-jung’s face turned red, and she shut her mouth. She said in a small voice.
“But is it real? Are you not kidding?”
“Why would I lie? I was the one who gave you the third-place winning ticket in the first place, right?”
“Oh, oh? Come to think of it…”
Yoon Da-jung made an ‘ah, I understand’ face.
“But is it okay for you to tell me that you won first prize?”
I nodded at Yoon Da-jung’s question.
Yeah.
Because even now, you’re shining gold in the glasses I’m wearing.
‘Is she the third heroine…?’
The golden path that appeared when I asked the Luck Tracker led all the way to this bus stop.
And as I was waiting here, the bus doors opened, and Yoon Da-jung, emitting a golden aura, came out.
Yoon Da-jung, looking up at me, was quite cute.
Her personality didn’t seem bad either.
But the problem is.
‘The fact that she’s a high school student…’
School uniform!
Minor!
Clang clang…!
‘But if you think about it, can’t I just raise her and then eat her?’
That’s right.
The Luck Tracker glasses were a helpful item that told me about winning the lottery first prize, Soo-jung’s maid outfit, and even that Delia had played a dating sim.
If age is the problem, I can just raise her. Nothing bad will happen if I trust this item.
“It doesn’t change anything if I tell you I won. It doesn’t matter much. And you asked, right?”
“That’s true. Hehe.”
Yoon Da-jung scratched her head, smiling.
“Ah. Come to think of it, did you collect your first-prize winnings?”
“Yeah. I collected it yesterday. Why?”
“When you collect it, do they do things like ID checks?”
I think I knew why Yoon Da-jung was asking that question.
“They do. I don’t know about third place, but I think they would for third place too? Since you have to collect it at the bank.”
“Ah, I see.”
“Don’t try to collect it alone. It can get annoying.”
“Okay…”
I asked her, seeing her look a little down.
“But why? Can’t you just collect it with your mom?”
“Come to think of it, my mom is very busy. Banks are only open until 4 PM, and they’re not open on weekends… My sister is busy too.”
“Ah. So, is that why you came here?”
“Yes, actually, I got on the wrong bus, but there was a Nonghyup bank near here, so I was going to collect the winnings. But then I realized I couldn’t collect it alone.”
Yoon Da-jung smiled awkwardly.
“I see.”
I thought for a moment and then said to Yoon Da-jung.
“Then, shall I collect it for you?”
“Oh, you?”
“Yeah.”
Yoon Da-jung looked a little hesitant.
I waved my hand.
“If you don’t trust me, it’s okay.”
“Ah, no, it’s okay. It’s also the lottery ticket you gave me… I’d be really grateful if you could collect it for me.”
“Okay. Then I’ll collect it for you.”
“Yes.”
Taking the smiling Yoon Da-jung, I went into the bank.
There were quite a few people waiting.
“Ugh. There are so many people.”
“Yeah… It’s going to take a while.”
“Um, should we just go?”
Yoon Da-jung asked me, looking a little apologetic.
“No, let’s wait. I have plenty of time.”
It would take quite a while until Soo-jung and Delia finished dinner.
“Really?”
“Yeah. I’m unemployed.”
“Wow. A rich unemployed person. I’m jealous.”
I laughed at Yoon Da-jung’s words and took a number ticket, sitting down in the remaining seat.
*Ding-*
Then a message came.
[Kang Soo-jung: Jin-hyun, where did you go?]
It was Soo-jung.
It seemed she had finished shopping with Delia and come home.
[Me: Yeah. I came out to do something for a bit.]
[Kang Soo-jung: Then when are you coming back? You’re going to eat dinner, right? I bought all the ingredients for soybean paste stew.]
[Me: Of course. I’ll be back soon.]
[Kang Soo-jung: Okay. Then come back before 6 PM. I’ll make it delicious~♥]
[Me: Okay, thanks~.]
That pretty thing.
I can’t help but smile when I text with Soo-jung.
Since I had the chat open anyway.
I replied to all the piled-up messages, as if doing a daily check-in.
After that, I heard a groan from next to me.
“Huuuuum…”
Yoon Da-jung was looking at something on her phone. It seemed she had been waiting while looking at her phone since I was on mine.
‘What is she looking at?’
She seemed very focused on something.
Looking at her face, she seemed to be thinking about something… I glanced at her phone, and she was reading a comic.
“What comic is it?”
“Haa! Y-yes?”
Yoon Da-jung was startled and turned off her phone when I asked.
“Ah, ah… It’s just a slice-of-life comic.”
“Oh, really? Is it fun?”
“Ah, maybe? I hope it’s fun…”
‘I hope it’s fun’ is something else.
Something was strange, but I decided to just let it go.
“Ah. It’s our turn now.”
After waiting for another 10 minutes, it was finally our turn.
When I received the first-prize winnings at the main branch, they guided me to a room, but this time, I just showed my ID at the counter and wrote my name and resident registration number on the back of the lottery ticket, and it was over.
They gave the winnings in cash.
I received the receipt and the money and handed it to Soo-jung.
“Here. The winnings. It was originally 1.58 million won, but after taxes, it’s 1.23 million won.”
“W-wow…”
Yoon Da-jung’s eyes sparkled when she actually received the money.
“It’s the first time I’ve seen so many 50,000 won bills.”
Her innocent smile made me laugh.
“Thank you so much.”
Yoon Da-jung bowed to me after leaving the bank.
“It’s nothing.”
I waved my hand.
“But why did you help me?”
I couldn’t answer, ‘Because I want to raise you and eat you.’
“I’m just kind of nice.”
“Hehe, is that so?”
I waved my hand at Yoon Da-jung, who was chuckling.
“Then I’m going.”
“Oh, yes?”
“Now that the business is over, you should go home too.”
My lovely Soo-jung and Delia are waiting at home.
I’m going to have a delicious dinner again today and do some fun stuff with Soo-jung. When will she wear the maid outfit I bought?
“W-wait a minute.”
Just as I was about to turn around and leave, Yoon Da-jung grabbed my sleeve.
“Why?”
“Um… I’m grateful for your help… so I want to give you something in return.”
“In return?”
“Like, um, a meal or something?”
A meal.
I suddenly remembered my first thought. That’s what I said when I tried to ask Yoon Yoo-jung out on a date. But Yoon Yoo-jung, Yoon Da-jung… Hmm. Their names are a bit similar.
“What time is it now? You haven’t had lunch at school for long, have you?”
“Ah… Then how about dessert?”
“Dessert?”
“Like ice cream. Okay?”
Well, it didn’t matter.
I eat a lot anyway. Even after eating ice cream, I’ll be able to enjoy the soybean paste stew that Soo-jung and Delia made.
“Okay.”
Yoon Da-jung nodded happily when I nodded.
There was a Baskin-Robbins in the building right next to the bank.
We opened the door and went inside.
“Wow. There are so many kinds.”
“Have you never been to Baskin-Robbins?”
Yoon Da-jung smacked her lips, looking at the many kinds of ice cream.
“No. I’ve been here before… but I haven’t been here recently. I’ve been holding back.”
“Is it okay today?”
“Today is just… special? Hehe.”
Cute.
Will this cuteness disappear and become mature if I raise her?
“What do you want to eat?”
“Hmm. I’ll have walnut.”
“Is that good?”
Yoon Da-jung was very indecisive about the menu.
She was indecisive for over a minute, so I helped her.
“If there are many things you want to eat, you can just buy them all. Take some to go.”
“Um, but that’s too expensive.”
“You won third place in the lottery, right?”
“Ah. I have to save that money as much as possible…”
“Hmm.”
It seemed like there was some reason.
“Then I’ll choose for you.”
Yoon Da-jung’s face brightened at my words.
“You? Okay.”
“What do you want to eat?”
“Hmm… I…”
Yoon Da-jung frowned and pointed at two.
“Mom is an Alien or Mint Chocolate?”
