Chapter 27 – Later Story (1)
My head feels foggy as if I was asleep.
My body was strangely heavy and languid, so I couldn’t even open my eyes.
My head isn’t working well because I just woke up.
Only short-circuit thoughts flow out one after another, and soon they disperse like smoke.
I was so tired that I wanted to go back to sleep, but since I was awake, I thought I should get up.
When I tried to move my body, I felt that there was something in my hamstrings.
My arms were wrapped around someone’s shoulders.
Trudge.
The sound of footsteps rings in your ears.
It feels warm and sturdy.
I feel like I’m up.
To whom?
I didn’t think too long.
It’s obvious.
Mr. Einstein, it must be you.
If you ask me how I knew, what would I say?
Do you know your body odor?
Take care of your back?
Putting all those factors together, I thought there would be no one else but you.
A low-pitched voice was heard.
“Are you awake?”
His words made me want to pretend to faint more.
That would be a futile thing.
It’s blindfolded and screaming.
“… How did you know you woke up?”
“I could feel everything flinching.”
Embarrassed, I lifted my eyelids with difficulty.
I could see his broad back and the nape of his neck.
As expected, Mr. Einstein was walking with me on his back.
I looked around.
Upon checking, it was not the cathedral of the denomination, but Magdalena Street.
I reflexively checked my body.
I was obviously naked.
At some point, a neat sincerity is put on.
“Astein, this is…”
“I didn’t put it on. I asked the nun.”
Did my feet go numb?
You spoke quickly and remained silent.
I laughed involuntarily.
You too have a clumsy side.
“If it’s Mr. Einstein, it’s okay to look at it.”
I let out those words and inhaled.
Because thoughts and words have changed.
Aww.
Look, look, it’s okay!
Maybe I said it like a woman who is too cheap?
Unexpected silence came.
My lips are dry and my throat is sore.
Oh, how could I make such a mistake!
Mr. Einstein turned his head, took one look at me, and sneered.
“Don’t make fun of me.”
It’s not really a joke.
However, I thought it would be better to dismiss it as a joke, so I hurriedly nodded.
“Sorry.”
“Apologies… It’s okay, you won’t even listen anyway, so what are you talking about? Is your neck okay?”
I was offended.
At his words, I touched the nape of my neck.
The wound from the dagger had healed as if it had been washed.
“Yes, I guess.”
I remember it clearly.
That I was captured by Bishop Rhonin.
Before losing consciousness, remember the last sensation you felt.
The feeling of the cool metal piercing deep into the throat.
Pain that ran like lightning.
I thought I was going to die without moving because my blood was shed inexhaustibly.
But being on your back safely like this means that I’m having a sweet dream before I die, or that you saved me.
“It is not a dream.”
How.
Are you able to read my thoughts so easily?
My heart beat irregularly, like someone with an arrhythmia.
You can’t hear my heartbeat, can you?
I hope you don’t hear it.
Because it’s embarrassing
“… Thanks.”
“You saved me?”
“Thank you for just including everything.”
It was a nightmare I couldn’t get out of.
It was a life that was helplessly trampled upon.
How can I be grateful to you for breaking my shackles?
Mr. Einstein has told me a different story, perhaps because he was embarrassed by my gratitude.
“After you were washed and dressed, you came right out of the church. I didn’t want to stay there.”
“Didn’t they stop you?”
“It must have been difficult to block it from the other side. Because I have something done to you.”
Well, they probably won’t care about that.
Maybe you let go because you were scared and afraid.
Instead of arguing with Katabuta, I quietly agreed.
“Okay.”
He continued as if he was in trouble.
“Aside from that, I made a bit of a mess. The paladin guys were annoying, so they gifted me a few weeks of transposition, made the cardinal a crippled hand, crippled his eye, and even killed a bishop. Even after doing this, they noticed that I was there.”
Indeed, the atrocities committed by Mr. Einstein are too splendid to be overlooked.
I replied as if I was admiring it.
“You are amazing. Actually, you’re not a hero, are you a Demon King?”
“The way I seek people is a bit extreme.”
I bury my head in your laughing back.
I felt like I was really saved, and I felt like everything that oppressed me was gone.
I let out a sigh of relief.
Mr. Einstein whispers in a soft voice what kind of misunderstanding he was.
“Cry if you want to cry.”
“I don’t cry.”
Who do you know as a crybaby?
I got grumpy and put my chin on his shoulder.
Even if you look at it as if it’s ridiculous, it will continue to be like this.
“Don’t do that, look at the sky. The stars are bright.”
He points to a cloudless sky.
The dark blue night sky seen from Magdalena’s townscape.
An incalculable number of stars twinkle.
It was a rare sight that cannot be seen in modern times.
Thinking it was a truly lyrical landscape, I asked Mr. Einstein.
“Where are we going?”
“I am looking for an inn right now. I want to leave here, but I think I will have to stay while the church is doing post-processing. That blonde kid said it wouldn’t be good if he just left it out.”
Blonde kid.
You must be referring to the Makarov believers.
At those words, I realize that there is still something left to solve.
“Did Follower Makarov say that?”
“Uh. They say they will call you when the situation is sorted out, but I don’t know if I can leave it to the little boy.”
“He is a child, but he is a brilliant believer. It’s believable.”
“Looks smart.”
Because it is winter, the cold air blows.
Mr. Einstein must have a lot of questions, but he didn’t hesitate to ask.
Little care.
I like your consideration.
Still, I wanted to talk to Mr. Einstein, so I opened my mouth again.
“By the way, did you pass the test of the holy sword?”
You shook your head.
“No. The test was difficult.”
“A test that even Mr. Einstein would struggle with. Can I ask what kind of test it was?”
“This isn’t very good, do you want to hear it?”
His threatening.
I wrinkled my forehead.
“… Is it cruel?”
“Well.”
Please don’t just laugh meaningfully and talk.
I glared at Mr. Einstein with the eyes of a flounder.
“You don’t want to talk?”
“… Zombie.”
You chuckle and call my name affectionately.
“Aria.”
“… Why.”
“I feel fortunate to have met you.”
The words came out of his mouth suddenly and lodged in my heart like a stigma.
It’s lethal.
Why are you taking away what I have to say?
Then what should I say?
You have nothing to say, so you lick your lips.
“Was it too sudden?”
Yeah, it’s out of the blue.
The head is bent at will.
It’s to hide your reddened face.
“I’m embarrassed, but can you say something?”
I cleared my throat.
“Are you not asking, you must have a lot of questions.”
“Even if I didn’t listen, I would have known about it. Why did you wash your body so much, why did you look at others, it was expected considering your actions so far.”
“… Don’t you want to hear it through my mouth?”
“Are you sure you won’t mind talking?”
When I shut my mouth, Mr. Einstein says in a tone that he knew it.
“It wouldn’t be so foolish if you were hurt to satisfy my curiosity. Did you say that before? Please tell me when your wounds heal.”
“… It was.”
“I’ll wait patiently for you, so don’t be impatient. I’d rather stay at this inn, what do you think?”
The place Mr. Einstein pointed with his chin was a rather luxurious inn.
I just wanted to lean on him a little longer.
I guess it’s time to give up my simple greed.
“Yes. Please get off now.”
He put me on the floor
As soon as you step on the ground, it is Mr. Einstein who helps you stumble.
“Ah, thank you. Mr. Einstein.”
“Aria Rameld.”
You call me by my last name in an extremely serious voice.
I was stunned and stopped biting my tongue.
“Yes, four?”
“Couldn’t you call me by the title of honor now?”
“Well, what should I say about that? Sim, it’s not a psychological rejection, it’s not that big, but it’s weird. Would it be weird? I’m so used to being called Mr. Einstein…”
As I speak gibberish, he sweeps my forehead and says:
“Call me Einstein, now.”
It’s like a child-like tone.
May I call you?
“… Einstein.”
My chest is tight.
It may even tickle.
Since there is no honorific, it was infinitely awkward.
“Yeah, that sounds a lot better.”
You laugh
Its appearance is so brilliant and bright.
I couldn’t help but laugh.
“It’s nice to hear, but it’s awkward after all.”
