Chapter 44 – Sewers
The three women were surprised to see the goblin Jason had killed.
It was three.
Even if he was a warrior of some ability, he could be hit with one sword.
Although they were goblins that only grew to the height of an adult man’s waist, the daggers they wielded were by no means weak.
But Jason was literally unscathed.
The three women became curious about the secret.
**
As Jason went out on reconnaissance, he remembered the time when he was a Korean gangster in his previous life.
He was a gangster who succeeded in prostitution, but also used violence if necessary.
A gangster who only earns money without violence was implied to be ignored by his younger siblings.
And most of his violence was planned under careful calculation.
He was often said to be working.
It was cleaner and less bloody to investigate in advance and deal with only the enemy cadres than to rush into a group of his men and fight.
Even then, he did a lot of research beforehand.
There was a time and place where gaps were inevitable.
And most thugs do that when they go out to their lover’s house.
After spending the night in a woman’s arms, strangely, his legs were a little weak and his mind was restless.
Even a gangster who was normally like a tiger couldn’t use his strength if he attacked at such a moment.
When I went to my lover’s house, there were many cases where he didn’t bring many of his men.
It was the best time to work.
Walking through the dungeon now, I remembered the time I waited for my goal in the underground parking lot.
Hearing was more important than seeing.
The field of vision was limited, but the sound provided information in all directions.
It was like that even now.
Although I could see through the darkness with my dark goggles on, it was as if I was seeing the world on a black-and-white monitor.
Information coming from farther away was sound accurate.
Spear also taught me many things like this during her thief training.
Jason even controlled the sound of his own footsteps and breathing.
He could even hear the wind brushing against the stones in the dark cave.
I could even hear the sound of his heart beating.
When I got used to the surroundings and the sound of my heart, I heard a small cacophony in the distance.
The sound was extremely small, but it annoyed him.
The experience of the previous life and the ability close to psychic power created under the system of the status window made it possible.
Jason quietly moved in the direction of the sound.
I saw three goblins.
They were inferior monsters that could not even be compared to the Dark Elves.
They were already eating all the flesh, crushing the bones with their teeth and sucking out the marrow inside.
And they were talking to each other in sounds that were hard to see as language.
Jason slowly looked around.
If this were a normal adventurer’s party, the thieves would have gone back immediately, informed them of this, and prepared for an all-out war.
‘But why?’
A warrior blocks the attack of a monster, a thief delivers a fatal blow, a wizard spreads wide-area magic, and a priest heals wounds.
Jason denied the strategy of the adventurers’ party, which had become common knowledge in this world.
He had memories of his past life.
Among them were modern tactics.
He had seen a movie about snipers.
‘If I can handle it alone, I’ll be able to grow bigger if I do it alone.’
There was a corner like a game somewhere in this world.
That was something only Jason knew.
Jason liked to grow his men, but he was more in a hurry to become stronger himself.
I looked at a goblin’s status window.
Name: None. Goblin.
Past Life: None.
Occupation: None.
Strength: 42.
Agility: 70.
Intelligence: 49.
Charm: 39.
Its strength is at the level of an adult woman and it is agile.
The fact that those guys who can’t speak properly have that level of intelligence must mean that their brains are spinning when it comes to combat.
The intelligence of this status window is very comprehensive.
For wizards, it was about understanding mana and ingenuity, and for warriors, it was about combat and strategy.
That’s why there were wizards who had an intelligence of 90 but no common sense about social life.
The goblin’s intelligence could also be understood in that sense.
‘If your agility is that level… ‘
And agility was about speed and finesse.
At that level, it seemed that he could run faster than most adults.
Jason checked the distance between himself and the goblin.
It looked like it could attack at least twice.
‘Three enemies.’
There was a huge rock.
If you hide on top of that rock and shoot arrows, the goblins won’t even notice what’s going on.
‘But even if they shoot two, they’re saying that one has to fight head-to-head in the end.’
The real battle was not the subject of gambling.
For Jason and Kyu-Chan Cho, the actual battle was to implement when a clear victory could be achieved.
He set a small trap in front of the rock.
It was a notification trap that was often set up by an adventurer party while taking a break in a dungeon.
It was enough to put a coin in a tin can and tie it here and there with string.
Jason tied a thread to the stalagmites around the rock, being careful not to trigger the trap.
He climbed the rock
All plans were perfect.
Now all I had to do was run it.
He took out an arrow and put it on the bowstring.
Pulled.
The goblins still didn’t know that a hunter was hunting them.
Jason raised his concentration as he quietly kept his life to himself.
And a familiar sensation came to mind.
It was an assassination attempt.
The surroundings seemed slow, and the goblins in the distance were clearly visible one by one.
He pictured in his mind where the arrow would fly if he let go of the bowstring now.
Assault was the best skill to aim for when the enemy was unguarded.
Fit.
In the darkness, only the faint sound of a bowstring could be heard.
An arrow flew and pierced the skull of one of the goblins.
The goblin collapsed without even screaming.
It was an arrow that had been strengthened by a cover-up.
His head has become an arrow holder.
“Kieack!”
The two remaining goblins were no fools.
I couldn’t figure out where the arrow came from in the darkness.
These two were beings living in depth.
As you can see from his intelligence of 49, he wasn’t stupid.
They quickly found rocks in the direction and surroundings of the arrows where they could hide.
Their bodies were small and there were many stone pillars made naturally in this cave.
The two goblins hid behind a pillar-like pillar.
‘It’s not easy after all.’
If two goblins jumped in, they would have been able to feed the lightly shot with arrows.
However, they chose to take cover rather than rush at the unseen foe.
‘Then is it a battle of waiting?’
Jason was willing to wait.
Now the situation was on his side.
He could have quietly backed away and joined his party.
And the goblins only went to the nether road the moment they put their heads out.
The goblins also knew the situation.
They looked at each other and exchanged glances.
They had to play the best they had left.
The armament of the goblins was not great, but it was enough to defend against arrows.
There were leather armor and wooden shields taken from the adventurers they had killed.
The leather was rotting because it wasn’t maintained, and the wooden shield was crumbling little by little, but it seemed to be able to block at least one arrow.
The two of them came out of the stone pillar at the same time.
And at the same time, they started running in the direction the arrow had come from.
“Kieack!”
It was a strategy to win if even one of the two could reach the enemy.
It was the best way to hit the enemy.
The two covered their heads and upper bodies with wooden shields and ran.
Because goblins are monsters, they can see into the darkness, so they run without hesitation.
Hiss!
And another arrow flew.
There was only one thing these goblins failed to calculate.
It was that Jason was already capable of skillfully using covert attacks.
His assault was capable of slicing through two thick shin bones at the same time.
The wooden shield swayed and one goblin shot her in the eye with an arrow.
The arrowhead penetrated his brain, and another one died.
“Kieek!”
The last surviving goblin did not look back.
Dying and killing was the life of a monster.
It was first to deal with the enemy rather than mourn the death of a colleague.
Thanks to the sacrifice of his comrades, he was able to reach the front of the rock.
I saw a human standing on a rock with only his head sticking out.
It was a distance where he could jump up and swing his sword at once.
“Kyaaak!!!”
And the moment he jumped, he heard the sound of his coins rolling around in the can.
The goblin hadn’t even swung his sword yet, and it was too early to hear the sound of metal clashing.
The goblin realized one thing.
Human adventurers never travel alone.
Maybe he has a colleague.
The goblin unknowingly surveyed the surroundings in the air.
And the moment the goblin lost focus from the enemy in front of them, Jason’s cover-up was activated.
Jason pulled the dagger from his waistband and moved it in the way that would most definitely kill the enemy in the slowed down time.
The dagger was driven into the goblin’s heart.
The goblin’s hot blood spurted out on Jason.
The thief, who was evaluated as having to hide behind a warrior and target weak points, took care of three goblins by himself.
