Chapter 1920 – 1920. Dark Moon
The next day.
I faced Kevin in the warden’s office.
“We’ve found out that the guys who attacked you yesterday were low-level members of the Kabrahim gang.”
“Kabrahim gang?”
It was a gang I’d never heard of before.
The fact that I didn’t know them meant they were a minor force in the original game, insignificant thugs.
“Yes. They’re a gang from the west, from a minority tribe. Unlike gangs that operate in the city, gangs in the provinces are all pretty much the same. It’s a case of minority tribes not adapting to the Empire and becoming gangs.”
“Why did the Kabrahim gang attack me?”
“The boss of the Kabrahim gang is currently imprisoned in Rumen Prison.”
“Was it his doing? Why? I haven’t done anything to earn the hatred of a gang.”
Kevin stared at me as if I’d said something ridiculous. He quickly hid his expression and continued.
“There are various gang bosses and members in the prison. They occupy areas and growl at each other. Some even form gangs within the prison.”
“What does that have to do with me being attacked?”
“A docile gang that can’t do anything is ignored. Especially recently, the Kabrahim gang’s position was shaky. The Kabrahim boss tried to show off his influence by killing the new warden outside the prison. Once a gang is looked down upon, it’s over.”
“That’s absurd.”
“Even if it’s absurd, it’s always happening here.”
“The guards are the masters of the prison. It’s your job to manage the prisoners. You’re letting the prisoners get too out of hand.”
“…We can’t help it. There are too few guards compared to the number of prisoners. More than anything, the guys imprisoned here are not ordinary. They’re all big shots… You can assume there isn’t a single ordinary person here.”
“They’re still just prisoners. To be intimidated by prisoners… I’m disappointed.”
“……”
Kevin flinched at the word “disappointed.”
“Captain. Did you embezzle funds?”
“W-What do you mean?”
“I asked if you embezzled funds like Lieutenant Stefan.”
“I never did!”
Kevin shouted, flustered. I had already secured the ledger. Kevin would know that too. To deny it so openly? Either he really didn’t embezzle funds, or he was confident he wouldn’t be caught.
My gut feeling was the latter.
“I see. You can go now.”
“……What are you going to do with Lieutenant Stefan?”
“I’ll take care of it.”
“Warden. All the guards are afraid of you. No one looks down on you. Please be a little gentler. The guards are all your subordinates.”
“How dare you advise me?”
“It’s all for your sake.”
“I’ll give you some advice too. Don’t talk to your superior like that. Lower your eyes and look down. I feel bad because it feels like you’re looking down on me.”
“…I would never think that.”
“Of course, you’d say that. Captain Kevin. I told you to leave, why are you still in front of me? If this isn’t insubordination and treason, then what is it?”
“…I still thought we could get along until just now. But I was wrong. I’ll leave. No one here will respect or follow you.”
“You insolent bastard.”
Bang!
I pulled out my pistol and pulled the trigger. The bullet lodged in his shoulder.
“Ugh!”
I got up from my chair and approached him, clenching my fist.
“Captain. I don’t want anyone’s respect. The only thing I want from my subordinates is obedience.”
I swung my fist at Captain Kevin. Thwack! Thud! Thwack! Blood splattered every time I hit his face.
As a mage, it might seem a bit crude… but the feeling of punching was quite satisfying. It felt like a huge stress reliever.
‘I’d like to cut off this bastard’s limbs and throw him in solitary too.’
Unlike Stefan, there was no concrete evidence. And I didn’t know how far this guy was involved yet. So, I’ll end it with a moderate beating.
“Captain. Please, don’t disappoint me.”
“Ughhh!”

After Kevin left, a new person entered.
It was a beautiful woman with purple hair. Underneath her deep-set uniform hat, her face had a striking impression. Her eyebrows were thick, and her eyes were provocative. She wore heavy, Western-style makeup that made her already three-dimensional face look even more so.
She had modified her uniform. Her cleavage was clearly visible, and her skirt was short, revealing her thighs. She sat on the chair opposite me, crossing her legs, and a glimpse of her black thong was subtly visible. She wore high-heeled leather boots that wrapped around her calves.
Her posture was very arrogant. In terms of attitude, she was much more arrogant than Kevin. But strangely, I wasn’t angry.
“Lieutenant Ance Schultz.”
She was the third warden in charge of managing the female guards.
“Yes. What did you call me for?”
Her voice was full of annoyance. But I didn’t have time to care about her voice. I was struggling just to keep my eyes from wandering towards her skirt.
“As you know, I was appointed warden yesterday, so I don’t have much information about Rumen Prison.”
“I don’t understand. What does that have to do with me?”
“To put it simply, be my right hand.”
“Hmm…?”
“I plan to clean up this prison from top to bottom. And Captain Kevin is the most annoying one in the process.”
“I saw Captain Kevin earlier, he looked terrible… Just do whatever you want. Do you need my help?”
“That’s not bad, but… it’s better to clean things up more thoroughly. Or are you also in cahoots with Captain Kevin?”
“With that boring old man? No way.”
“So there’s no loyalty between colleagues. That’s a relief.”
“That doesn’t mean I have a reason to cooperate with you. What do I get if I stick with you?”
“I’ll give you the position of deputy warden.”
“Hmm. That’s a bit tempting.”
“Is there anything else you want?”
I thought she would ask for money. Most people want money.
“The right to punish.”
“What?”
“I really like tormenting people. The reason I applied to Rumen Prison was because I thought I could torment the prisoners as much as I wanted. I was actually satisfied at first. I could legally torment prisoners who didn’t listen. But at some point, punishment was banned. Yes. After Captain Kevin became deputy warden. I want the right to punish prisoners.”
“Okay. I’ll give you the position of deputy warden and the right to punish. But you can’t punish the prisoners I designate.”
“Oh my. You’re setting conditions? Then I’ll set a condition too.”
“Go ahead.”
“They say you’re a madman? The rumors are already out. I want to see if those rumors are true. Show me how crazy you are.”
What’s her intention?
I looked at Ance, who was smiling, but I couldn’t guess her intention.
“I want something intense. Not something lukewarm like Rumen Prison is now.”
Ance smiles. There’s a sticky malice in her provocative eyes. I had a rough idea of what she wanted.
“Okay. Follow me.”
I took Ance to the cell block.
The men’s cell block. A foul odor permeated the air. As soon as the men saw Ance, they started cheering.
“You bitch! You’re so hot!”
“Want me to fuck you? I’ll fuck you right now!”
“You whore! Come here and spread your legs!”
“Sex! Sex! Dick, pussy, sex!”
“Your ass and tits are amazing!”
The prisoners were going crazy. There were many guys here who hadn’t seen a woman in years. In the midst of that, a beautiful woman in provocative clothes appeared, so it was natural for them to go wild. Moreover, Ance was walking, wiggling her hips as if she was teasing the prisoners.
“Warden! The prisoners are harassing me so much, I’m scared~”
She seemed to be enjoying it instead.
‘I don’t like the guys yelling like that.’
I took out my pistol and held it in my hand. The heavy, cool sensation felt good. I aimed at a guy who was holding the bars with both hands and pulled the trigger.
Bang!
The gunshot echoed throughout the cell block. The prisoner who was holding the bars fell backward with a hole in his forehead.
Everything went silent. I slowly put away my pistol.
“Wow.”
Ance was impressed.
“To pull the trigger without hesitation. Amazing. That prisoner wasn’t even on death row. Can you handle this? No, do you even plan to handle it?”
“I just suppressed a prisoner who showed signs of rioting.”
“Ah. I see. But that’s not what I mean by handling it. The gang that prisoner belonged to. They’ll definitely go wild.”
“No matter the reason, rioting is not allowed.”
“Ah ha ha ha.”
We arrived at our destination.
Inside the cell block, there was a cell that was slightly larger than the others, with about a dozen people inside. In the center, there was a bald, middle-aged man with tattoos all over his body. He was the boss of the Kabrahim gang.
“What brings the new warden here?”
He grinned.
He was even more arrogant than Captain Kevin.
I took out a knife from my pocket. His lips curled into a sneer when he saw the small knife.
“You’re scary with that blade. What are you going to do with it? Or did you come to give it as a gift?”
Without answering, I slashed my palm with the knife. Red blood flowed out. The sudden self-harm made the prisoners, including the Kabrahim boss, widen their eyes. Ance was the same. But no one stopped me.
“A self-harm show? This is, this is interesting. They said the new warden is no ordinary madman… But is that all you’re going to do? If it were me, I would have cut open my stomach and shown my insides. Heh heh.”
“Do you know about bloodline abilities?”
I opened my mouth. Blood dripped onto the floor.
“Heh heh. Who doesn’t know about that? Abilities passed down through blood. It’s a lineage as blessed as the nobles. To have power from birth. It’s an enviable ability.”
“My Schneider family also has a bloodline ability.”
“What is it? Did you come to brag? Since you’re the new warden, I’ll listen. What kind of ability is it?”
“Material conversion. I can temporarily convert the material of blood. For example, I can turn it into gold like this.”
The blood flowing down turned into glittering gold. The prisoners’ eyes widened. They reached out towards the gold.
“I can also turn it into oil.”
I scratched the bars with the knife. Sparks flew as friction occurred. The sparks ignited as soon as they touched the oil.
The cell was instantly filled with flames.
