Chapter 195 – Phase 2 (1)
Yuria, Rachel, and Freya, who were released from their restraints, fell before they could come to their senses. Thanks to Minercia immediately catching them, they were all able to avoid falling to the ground.
Renia, who was close to me, hugged me in advance and prevented me from falling.
Even when the restraints were released, Renia did not come to her senses right away.
I gently shook Lenia’s body to wake her up.
“Renia! Renia! Wake up!”
As I was shaking Renia, I felt something flying towards me and I immediately used a defense skill in front of me.
〈Frozen Block〉
An ice wall was created at the right time to prevent the black flames flying towards me from hitting me and Renia.
“I can’t believe you can break this. It’s a magic that even my subordinates can’t break easily.”
Chaos Alcatraz said, extending his hand towards me.
Just now, Minercia’s breath, 〈 Destruction of World 〉, hit her from the front, but she still doesn’t seem to have any damage.
Despite such an attack, the fact that there was no sign of any damage aroused a sense of despair that was dormant in my heart.
If you could see the raid boss’ health gauge like in the game, you would recognize that the current attack is weak but your health is gradually being reduced, but since you can’t even see that, it’s even more frustrating to me that I can’t tell if I’m taking damage.
Is it possible that if the gimmick of the four people who were restrained just now is activated, their stamina will not be reduced like a barrier maintained by a magic circle?
Or maybe it’s a gimmick where you have to quickly rescue a character who’s been locked up because their defense increases so much.
If it were a real game, I would have completely figured out the pattern after numerous retries, but now I can’t even do that, so what should I do?
“Ji…Jinuni?”
Then, I came back out of my thoughts when I heard Renia’s voice in my arms.
“Renia! Are you awake?”
“I… Why am I in Jinu’s arms…”
Lenia muttered in a low voice and buried her head in my arms, like a kitten in its mother’s arms.
“Ah… It’s so nice, Jinu…”
It seems like Renia is in a half-asleep state, perhaps not having come to her senses yet.
I immediately tried to yell at Renia.
“You won’t have time to relax like that, will you?”
The voice of Chaos Alcatraz suddenly heard from behind me, giving me goosebumps.
I immediately turned my head and saw the figure of Chaos Alcatraz extending its sharp hand towards me.
Damn it, is it already too late to act?
At that time, my body was shaken by the rock blowing towards me, and thanks to that movement, Chaos Alcatraz’s hand was unable to pierce my body and split the air.
“I’m sorry, Jinu. I must have lost my senses.”
I heard the voice of Rhenia, who was in my arms, and Minerva, the spirit king of the wind, appeared next to her.
“Renia, are you awake now? Do you remember what happened?”
I asked as I dropped Rhenia into my arms. As Rhenia fell to me, she immediately used 〈 Spirit Unity 〉 to unite with the Wind Spirit King Minerva.
“Yes, after Jinu-nim left, I was fooled by that guy and got caught, and then my memory was cut off. And when I came to, I was in Jinunnim’s arms.”
“Then that means I remember it accurately.”
As expected, the four people who remained were no match for Chaos Alcatraz.
“Oh… Has it woken up? It was like a bug that was attacking me, so I caught it, but breaking the cage and releasing it again wasn’t too much of a hassle. If I want to catch it again, I have to bother creating magic again.”
Come back…
“Renia, were you four caught at once? Or were you caught one by one after some time?”
“That’s not true, Jinu. At first, Rachel, who couldn’t move quickly, was caught first and prevented from moving, followed by Freya, Yuria, and me. There was a little time lag before the next person was caught.”
Does this mean that they were not caught all at once, but one by one?
If so, I think you probably know a little bit about this gimmick.
I don’t know how they caught him, knocked him out, and restrained him, but if it were a game, he’d target one character, catch him, trap him in a gimmick, and then after a certain amount of time, catch another character and trap him again.
If users who are doing a raid do not quickly rescue other trapped user characters, the number of trapped characters will increase. When more than half of the characters are captured, the trapping gimmick will end, and if they are not rescued for a certain period of time, instant death level damage will fall on the entire field. I thought it might be a pattern.
There are three reasons why I think this.
First, if you can trap them all at once, you can capture all four remaining people at once.
But there is no way not to do that in part. Chaos Alcatraz wanted to use us as test subjects, so their goal would have been to capture us alive. Then, in order to catch those of us who left the spot, they would have to quickly organize and chase us down, so if they could catch all four of us, they would have used them immediately.
However, as Renia said, there was a good reason for capturing each person one by one.
Second, even though all four people were detained, that gimmick was not used against me, Ellie, Noah, and Lien, who had broken the magic circle.
As mentioned earlier, if you were planning on catching it to use it as a test subject, it would cause you to lose one power point immediately, so it is strange to exclude that gimmick.
But, doesn’t it mean that we couldn’t catch everything that wasn’t used?
Right now, 4 out of 8 of us were captured.
And finally, thirdly, if you think that Chaos Alcatraz’s gimmicks were created based on the game, it makes no sense in terms of balance to restrain more than half of them.
I don’t know how many people were selected to attack the level 110 raid, but at least one Buffer Crusader will be included, and one person will be included in each of the four detailed parties.
But what if 4 people are arrested and they are all dealers?
Can this pattern be solved with two buffers and the remaining dealers who cannot do proper damage?
I don’t know because I haven’t actually tried it, but I think this is probably close to a failed situation. The best strategy would be to prevent the situation from reaching this point, but what if more characters are detained?
But what if it happens to be a dealer again?
And what if the remaining two people are buffers?
Isn’t that the same as saying annihilate?
If you made a pattern like this, you would probably say things like, ‘You’re lucky, mangam’, ‘What’s in the head of the bastard who made this pattern!’, ‘Are you a sadist who takes money to make this pattern and laughs at the suffering of the users?’ Wouldn’t all kinds of swear words fill the Elion-related community?
Moreover, just thinking about the number of ultimates I used to destroy this gimmick, it would seem like a lot of damage would be needed, but if I were to get into a situation like before where I had a buffer left over, it would be like giving up.
Therefore, it doesn’t make sense to catch them all, and I think it’s probably better to make it take half of them.
This is my intuition based on my experience with Elion for a long time.
And just now, Chaos Alcatraz muttered, ‘Should I walk again?’
This may mean that this gimmick is not activated once and is over, but is activated periodically.
Those Elion operators… They added a more annoying pattern to the raid than I thought! I’ll just add some easy patterns…
I’m getting annoyed at the fact that even the patterns were made so difficult when we already lack combat power.
Moreover, there are only two gimmicks that I have confirmed so far.
A barrier that makes Chaos Alcatraz invincible, and a restraint gimmick that renders the character incapable of combat.
There’s no way the raid boss has only two gimmicks.
〈Thunderbolt Calling〉
As me, Rhenia, and Chaos Alcatraz were facing off, lightning fell overhead.
It was Rachel’s skill that I had seen so many times.
After seeing that, I lowered her head and saw Rachel using her skill towards Chaos Alcatraz.
Not only Rachel, but also Yuria and Freya were standing on the ground looking at us, as if they had come to their senses.
Okay, somehow everyone is back together again.
I wanted to think that the odds of defeating Chaos Alcatraz had now increased slightly.
But despite this, worries piled up like a mountain in my heart.
Because I haven’t taken any damage even though I’ve attacked so far? That could also be one reason.
Because there may be other gimmicks besides the two gimmicks shown so far? That’s natural, but it’s not the biggest reason.
This is a traditional gimmick that Elion’s raid bosses have had so far, and when a certain amount of stamina falls, they enter a new phase, contributing to harassing users.
When you move to Phase 2 and Phase 3, the raid boss’s patterns are strengthened and the damage done is increased…
Chaos Alcatraz, which we are currently fighting against, would naturally have this gimmick if it were a raid boss.
So… What phase is being shown to us now…
That’s what I’m most worried about right now.
