## Chapter 628 – 628. God’S Atlantis
I watched the sleeping Seira as if observing her.
Seira twitched in her sleep. It seemed like she was waking up, but she wasn’t.
When the time came, I approached her. When I was about 3 meters away, she suddenly opened her eyes.
“Princess Seira. It’s time for your shift. Were you perhaps already awake?”
“No… I just woke up. The moment I sensed your presence, I became fully alert.”
“……You don’t look well. Wouldn’t it be better for you to sleep more?”
“There’s no problem. My senses are just a bit more sensitive.”
Seira got up. A cold wind blew, hitting her body. She shivered and frowned.
“Sir, did you perhaps feed me Yet powder while I was sleeping?”
My heart skipped a beat. I had turned the Yet powder into a gas and fed it to her, which was the same as forcing her to take it.
“If I had, Princess Seira, you would have woken up.”
“I was just saying. There’s no reason for you to feed me Yet powder.”
“Is this how you feel after taking Yet powder?”
“It’s worse. My senses are so sensitive that the feeling of the air touching my skin is unpleasantly vivid. There’s so much information coming in that it’s giving me a headache. Did you put a large amount of Yet powder in the emergency rations we had for dinner?”
“Do you see me as that kind of person? You know very well that Yet powder takes effect immediately. If there was Yet powder mixed in the rations, there’s no way you wouldn’t have noticed.”
“I’m sorry, Sir. My senses became overly sensitive, and my nerves became sensitive along with them. I don’t know why my body is like this.”
“If it’s too hard to bear, please go back to sleep. I’ll stand guard.”
“It’s not that hard to bear. I’ll return to normal after some time. I’ll stand guard, so you go to sleep.”
“From my position, I’m worried about you, Princess Seira….”
“I won’t go far, so go to sleep. That’s an order. Are you going to refuse this time too?”
“I will sleep.”
I lay down in the spot where Seira had been. Her warmth still lingered.
“The stars are beautiful.”
“Yes. Sleeping while looking at the stars isn’t bad either.”
I pretended to close my eyes but peeked through a slit. I focused only on her in the dimly visible world.
“Go to sleep.”
Seira said. Her senses were so sensitive that she must have felt my gaze. I need to be careful about this. If I accidentally steal a glance at her chest or butt, things could go wrong.
‘Seira’s condition will probably remain the same for several hours. The effects and duration of Yet powder increase depending on the amount taken. The gas I used on Seira was roughly equivalent to 300g of powder…. Even if most of the gas was blown away by the wind, I have to consider that gas is more effective than Yet powder.’
I closed my eyes and tried to sleep, looking forward to her reaction tomorrow.
***
Cold water droplets fell on my cheek.
I opened my eyes.
The surroundings were already thick with fog, and the sky was full of dark clouds.
I looked around and found Seira without difficulty. She was sitting a little ways away, leaning against a rock. Her face was scrunched up, looking very displeased. Her wavy ash-gray hair was damp and drooping.
“You’re awake? I was just about to wake you up.”
“How is your condition?”
“I’m fine. What’s not fine is the weather. Raindrops are already starting to fall one by one. It’ll rain soon. And when it rains…”
“The Yet slugs will go wild.”
Humid environments are perfect for slugs to be active.
“There’s no time. We need to find and eliminate the Yet Slug Queen as quickly as possible. That way, the city’s burden will be reduced.”
“Yes. Let’s move right away.”
In less than 20 minutes, it started to drizzle. The fog made it hard to find our way. There were many obstacles in our path.
And Seira’s condition was getting worse. The hood on her coat could block some of the rain, but not all of it. Especially since her senses were several times more sensitive than usual.
The sound of raindrops falling, the feel of the raindrops, the coldness of the raindrops. She would be feeling all of it. With so much information flooding in, her mind would be confused and she would quickly become mentally exhausted.
‘The rain is actually a good thing for me. Yet Slug Queen. Please, I beg you. Stay hidden.’
I stared intently at Seira from a step behind her.
Ssssh. Ssssh. Ssssh.
I could hear the sound of Yet slugs crawling towards us from beyond the fog. If you couldn’t see them and only heard the sound, it would be like a scene from a horror movie.
Seira held the Zweihander she had on her back with both hands and swung it forward. The fog parted, and a large sword aura cut through five Yet slugs at once.
Seira put her sword back and started walking silently. I couldn’t tell if the liquid flowing down her face was sweat or raindrops.
‘She’s pushing herself too hard.’
When she unleashed the sword aura earlier, she had used too much force. If she were her usual self, she would have swung the greatsword more efficiently.
Even though I could have stepped in myself, I didn’t. I was hoping she would get exhausted.
As time passed, her condition got worse and worse.
“Princess Seira. I think it would be best to rest for a while.”
“……Alright.”
We sat down under a large tree. Thick drops of water were dripping through the leaves, but we could avoid some of the rain.
“Your gaze has been fixed on me since earlier. Is there something you want to say?”
“Your breathing isn’t normal. Your breathing is also erratic. How about we find a suitable place and rest?”
“I’m fine. It’s just a little awkward to breathe because my senses are sensitive. More than that, I’ve been thinking about the cause of why I’m like this.”
Seira deliberately changed the subject. If her condition was really fine, she wouldn’t have needed to do that.
“What do you think is the cause?”
“I think it’s because I killed the Yet slugs. I killed more Yet slugs than usual. I stepped in and killed them before you did. In that process, something from the Yet slugs affected me.”
“That explains why I’m fine. Then I’ll step in and eliminate the Yet slugs first.”
“What if you become like me? I’ll take charge of dealing with the Yet slugs.”
“But you could get hurt.”
“It’s better than both of us getting hurt. Think about efficiency.”
“……”
I nodded silently.
It was better for one person to be in bad shape than for both of us to be, just in case. And for my plan, I had to accept Seira’s opinion.
Seira’s condition worsened as time passed.
Now she couldn’t even unleash sword auras and instead approached the Yet slugs and swung her greatsword. Still, her excellent swordsmanship was still there, so she easily dealt with the Yet slugs.
In the afternoon, the thick fog cleared slightly. And finally, we found the Yet Slug Queen.
The Yet Slug Queen was among more than 100 Yet slugs. Just like a queen, she was being guarded by the Yet slugs.
The Queen’s body was pink instead of yellow, so she stood out. She was also at least twice as big as the other Yet slugs, and there was a hole like a volcanic crater on her smooth back.
A yellow liquid was flowing from her back. I had to focus my mind more to realize that it was small Yet slugs.
“……I see why she’s called the Queen.”
“The Yet Slug Queen gives birth to more than 20 Yet slugs a day. The Yet slugs also split more than once every ten days. When there’s a Queen, the Yet slugs become ferocious and their numbers increase uncontrollably. That’s why the Queen needs to be dealt with quickly when she appears. It wasn’t really a big mission, but… Haa. There have been too many variables along the way.”
I felt a sense of disappointment in my heart. If we killed the Yet Slug Queen, we would return to the city.
‘I was looking for a chance to take Seira…. Queen. You should have stayed hidden somewhere. Why did you crawl out…’
Seira had finished preparing for battle and spoke to me.
“Sir, can’t you drop lightning on the Yet Slug Queen? If the Yet Slug Queen dies, the Yet slugs around her will naturally scatter, so we can avoid unnecessary fighting.”
“I’ll try. There are dark clouds in the sky, after all.”
I had no intention of doing something clumsy in front of Seira.
Kwarururung.
Lightning wriggled in the dark clouds. As expected, I’m stronger now than in reality.
I gathered the lightning in the clouds and dropped it on the Yet Slug Queen.
With a roar, the surroundings flashed as if a flashbang had been dropped.
Kwaaaaang!
The ground was gouged out by the huge lightning.
But the Yet Slug Queen didn’t die. She wriggled and crawled out of the hole in the ground. Her antennae spun around, and she opened her large mouth threateningly towards us. Thousands of teeth moved like a chainsaw inside her mouth.
“……She’s fine. I used more than half of my mana to drop that lightning… It’s shocking.”
The Yet Slug Queen looked completely unharmed, moving normally after being struck by lightning. It was truly shocking.
“Don’t be discouraged. Now that I see it, the Queen is protecting her whole body with mucus. Not only your lightning, but most attacks won’t work at all. More than that, the annoying thing is that the Queen has found out our location. Now, a surprise attack won’t work. We have no choice but to fight head-on.”
“Should we retreat and come up with a plan?”
“We can’t let the Queen get away here. I’ll fight the Queen, so you cover me and deal with the Yet slugs.”
“Yes.”
Seira kicked off the ground and ran in a straight line. I followed behind her, continuously dropping lightning on the Yet slugs around us.
Kwaaang! Bang! Bang!
The sound of thunder echoed continuously. Seira, whose senses had become sensitive, didn’t show any signs of discomfort even though her ears must have been hurting.
The Yet slugs gathered in front of the Queen.
“I’ll open the way.”
Blue sword aura and red lightning crackled on the Hwaryeon Bido.
Shadow Heaven Style (影天流) Lightning Flash (雷閃).
I unleashed a blue sword aura wrapped in red lightning.
Numerous Yet slugs were cut down and collapsed on the ground.
I aimed for the Queen as well, but the Lightning Flash disappeared just before it reached the Queen’s body. Even if it had hit, it was questionable whether it would have been able to deal a decisive blow.
“Thank you.”
Seira ran. I burned to death the Yet slugs that were trying to rush towards her with lightning.
When she reached the front of the Yet Slug Queen, she gripped the Zweihander tightly with both hands. Blue sword aura rose from the blade, turning into a sword aura.
Just before Seira swung her sword, the Yet Slug Queen opened her mouth wide and spat out mucus.
Seira moved to the side. After clearly avoiding the Yet Slug Queen’s attack, she approached again and swung her sword. Her sword cut the Yet Slug Queen’s body in half. The two halves of the Yet Slug Queen’s corpse fell to the ground.
‘It’s over.’
She seemed to feel the same way, as she staggered for a moment and then planted her greatsword on the ground and leaned on it. She was trying to stand, even if she had to force herself.
That’s when it happened. The antennae of the Yet Slug Queen, which we thought was dead after being split in half, twitched.
“Princess Seira!”
Seira was surprised and gripped her sword tightly.
It was too late.
The Yet Slug Queen’s body swelled up and then exploded. Mucus covered her body.
“Aaaaaaaah!”
A painful scream echoed in the air. All the clothes she was wearing melted away in an instant, and she fell to the ground, naked and staggering.
I was shocked and ran towards her. There were no Yet slugs blocking me. From the moment the Yet Slug Queen self-destructed, they ignored us as if it wasn’t their business and began to scatter as if looking for their own tasks.
I ran to Seira and checked on her. She was still breathing. She had just lost consciousness.
‘It’s only natural that she fainted, considering the extreme pain she suffered with her already sensitive senses.’
The clothes she was wearing, including her underwear, had all melted away, but her skin was red.
‘This is a full-body burn. I can’t leave her like this!’
The moment I took out a potion.
Ssssh. Ssssh. Ssssh.
The Yet slugs were approaching me with hostility. The attitude of the ones that were scattering had suddenly changed.
‘Tch.’
I put the Zweihander in my inventory and picked up Seira.
‘Acceleration! Moment!’
And then I ran away at full speed.
