## Chapter 1649 – 1649. God’S Atlantis
“Dark Lightning!!”
Black lightning shot towards the Cyclops’ eye. The giant eye, recognizing the black lightning, wavered. It seemed to realize it was too late to dodge and squeezed shut.
The black lightning hit the eyelid and bounced off. The giant eye slightly opened. It hadn’t caused any significant damage. The Cyclops’ lips curled up. It was mocking me.
“You little….”
I wanted to show it what real lightning tasted like. But to do that, I’d have to change my status window, and with the special event going on, I didn’t know what would happen if I changed it now.
In the worst-case scenario, the undead army could evaporate, and I could lose the souls I’d captured. I might like gambling, but I’m not stupid enough to gamble when I’d lose more than I’d gain.
“It’s trying to use its laser again. Cannon Zombies, aim for its eye.”
“Kueeeh….”
The Cannon Zombies raised their cannon arms. Their ends were aimed at the Cyclops’ head.
Kwaaaang!
With a roar that shook the space, the attack began. The Cannon Zombies fired balls of fire, ice, and energy.
The accuracy was terrible. They aimed for the Cyclops’ head, but not a single one hit. Most of them hit the Cyclops’ upper body. That alone was helpful. The Cyclops’ massive body shook slightly from the cannon hits.
“Kuaaaaaaaaah!!”
The Cyclops screamed in rage. The laser shot from its single eye burned the Cannon Zombies, and its giant fists and feet slammed into them.
‘It doesn’t seem very intelligent. That’ll make it easier to deal with.’
I waved my hand. Giant grasshoppers began to run wildly in all directions. Startled, the Cyclops hesitated and swung its arms to catch the giant grasshoppers. From the Cyclops’ perspective, the giant grasshoppers would feel like pests biting its flesh.
Crack!
The Cyclops was so huge that even a casual swing of its arms and legs swept away and killed the giant grasshoppers. It wasn’t a meaningless death. The giant horsehair worms that had been parasitizing the giant grasshoppers had burrowed into the Cyclops’ body.
‘They can’t go in very deep.’
Even though they were giant horsehair worms, the Cyclops was too big. And the Cyclops’ flesh wasn’t ordinary. It wasn’t as hard as steel, but it was harder than stone. Because of that, the giant grasshoppers couldn’t easily tear through the giant’s skin.
Energy gathered in the Cyclops’ eye. I cursed it. An invisible curse, a curse that drained its energy. Hit by the two curses, the Cyclops couldn’t fire its laser.
‘At this rate, I’ll win. It’s certain.’
If I just kept it from firing its laser, the rest would be up to the undead army.
Even small damage, when accumulated, could become a large, life-threatening injury.
You can’t ignore an enemy just because it’s small. There are humans who have died from being bitten by ants smaller than a fingernail, and humans who have died from being stung by wasps. And these are undead. They’re much more venomous than ants or wasps.
“Kuaaaaaaaaah!”
The Cyclops let out a painful roar from the undead army’s continuous attacks.
That’s when the change happened. A huge wave of power erupted from the Cyclops’ body, shaking off the undead clinging to its skin. Red, complex patterns appeared on its skin, glowing. I felt an undeniable power from those patterns.
‘I need to be more proactive.’
I wanted to see the power of the undead army, but I felt like the worst-case scenario could happen if I wasn’t careful.
I used the black magic I had just learned. It was a black magic called the Shackles of the Wraith.
Chanting the spell, I slammed Moses’ Staff into the ground. Starting from that point, a dark shadow raced towards the Cyclops. The shadow, taking its place beneath the Cyclops’ feet, grew in size.
When the giant’s feet were completely darkened, ten giant tentacles resembling an octopus burst out. The tentacles grabbed and restrained the Cyclops’ body.
‘Is it because it’s so big? This is surprisingly difficult to concentrate on.’
Thanks to my Black Magic Aptitude (SSS), I could easily learn and use black magic. But using and maintaining black magic didn’t suit my personality. Unlike raising the undead, curses and offensive black magic required constant concentration.
‘It feels like I’m studying.’
Squirm, squirm, squirm.
The tentacles grabbed the giant’s body and pulled it down. The giant knelt.
“Kuaaaaaaaaah!”
The giant struggled. One by one, the tentacles were severed. The giant’s power was beyond imagination.
“What are you doing! Don’t just stand there, attack it! Finish it off!!”
I shouted at the undead army. I was furious at the undead’s attitude of just watching while their master was struggling. After being yelled at, the undead army rushed at the Cyclops with all their might.
Koo-oong!
The Cyclops’ upper body fell to the ground. Its wounds were covered in blood from the accumulation of small attacks. Its skin was torn, and its flesh was visible. The undead that had climbed onto its body continued their attacks relentlessly.
“Krrr….”
The Cyclops made a beast-like sound. Its single giant eye was shedding tears of blood and emitting light.
I sensed that the final attack was coming and leaped forward.
The Cyclops’ glowing eye stared directly at me. The light gathered in the center of its eye and became a laser with overwhelming heat, shooting towards me.
Heavenly Demon Divine Art, Heavenly Demon Palm.
I thrust my palm forward. I concentrated the Heavenly Demon Energy into my palm. Using my palm, overflowing with Heavenly Demon Energy, as a shield, I moved forward.
The laser fired by the Cyclops and my palm collided. I put strength in my legs and approached step by step.
“Kuaaaaaaaaah!”
It screamed. The laser output became stronger. I stopped moving forward. I put strength in my feet and dug them into the ground. I focused on holding my ground.
“While I hold it, kill it!”
The undead army’s attacks didn’t stop. While I held it, they continued to attack the fallen giant.
Smoke rose from my palm. My hand was burning. The Heavenly Demon Palm was also reaching its limit.
And then the laser output decreased. The Cyclops’ eye slowly began to close.
I saw a giant fly clinging to its eyelid. I squeezed out my mana and used black magic.
“Corpse Explosion!!”
The giant fly exploded. Blood splattered. The Cyclops couldn’t even scream. Its large eye closed, and its head slumped powerlessly to the ground, never to move again.
[You have defeated the Eye of Light (False).]
[You have slain a giant.]
[You have been given the title ‘Giant Slayer’.]
[Strength has permanently increased by 1.]
The Cyclops was dead.
Thump, thump, thump!
The undead attacked the Cyclops on its corpse.
“You clueless things! Get lost!”
When I shouted, the undead retreated from the Cyclops’ corpse.
Normally, when a being of authority dies, its corpse immediately disappears. Instead of the corpse, an item with special effects is given as a reward. But the Cyclops in front of me now didn’t disappear.
‘Is it because I’m a necromancer now? This corpse itself is a reward for me.’
I’ll raise the Cyclops as an undead. The type didn’t matter. The Cyclops’ size alone would make it a useful undead.
“Arise.”
I used black magic. The black magic seeped into the giant’s corpse.
The giant’s corpse didn’t even twitch. The black magic failed. Thanks to my Black Magic Aptitude (SSS), I immediately knew what had failed.
‘I can create even high-level undead. To make this guy into a complete undead, I need the highest-level undead creation method.’
Of course, there were other ways to utilize the giant’s corpse. Like using this corpse to create several high-level undead.
‘That’s a second-best option. The only way to properly utilize the giant’s corpse is to make the giant itself an undead.’
There was no need to be impatient.
By killing the Cyclops, I had met the condition to obtain the Book of the Dead (3). If I completed the Book of the Dead, I would be able to make it into a top-tier undead.
I separated about 200 undead.
“You guys, guard the giant’s corpse.”
While I was away, another group could appear and take the giant’s corpse. Or a monster could appear and eat the corpse.
“Guard it well. I’d like to take the corpse with me, but… that would take too long.”
“Do not worry. We will guard the giant’s corpse even if it costs us everything.”
The Skeleton Priest replied.
I confirmed the Cyclops’ soul, trapped in its corpse and writhing in pain, and turned away. Of course, that Cyclops’ soul was fake.
‘It’s the soul of authority. Even if it’s fake, it’ll be helpful.’
• • •
Chief Crisema of the Hot Wind Tribe greeted me with his warriors in front of the village. His expression was stiff. I approached him and said,
“I have fulfilled your third request. The giant is dead, and its corpse and soul are now my property. Now it’s your turn to keep your promise. Hand over the third seal.”
“Of course, I intend to keep my promise. Tutankhamun, do not forget the first request.”
Crisema held up his staff and chanted a spell. The light that came from him seeped into the back of my right hand. The third symbol was engraved. With this, I could break the seal on the Book of the Dead (3). I grinned silently. Because of my golden mask, no one could see my face.
“I will go to the altar.”
“I will guide you.”
“That’s okay. You’re too slow.”
I dashed towards the altar where the Book of the Dead (3) was.
I instantly climbed onto the altar and reached out for the Book of the Dead (3). The three seals glowed and disappeared along with the seal. My hand grasped the Book of the Dead.
“It’s time for fusion.”
I took out the Book of the Dead I had. Then, the Book of the Dead (3) was naturally absorbed into the Book of the Dead. I was finally facing the moment I had been waiting for.
