## Chapter 67 – A Lady’s Memory (2)

It was reported that she was with her younger sister, Yui Kazunomiya, but she was the only one there.

The name of my sister in the voice of some man, mixed with a buzzing tinnitus, seemed to bring my dazed mind back to reality, at least a little.
Once the largest mansion in the area, now almost completely shattered and weathered, only ruins remained of the Kazunomiya family estate.
The wide and grand ‘home’ where I had played as a child had vanished.
The man carrying me shifted, and my head, resting on his back, turned slightly.
My eyes caught sight of a servant’s corpse, impaled like a skewer on the decoration at the very top of the eaves, which were on the verge of collapse – I didn’t know how he had gotten up there.
His upper body hung limply downwards, truly a ‘corpse’ in every sense of the word, yet I felt surprisingly nothing.
‘The Transcenders have finished their preparations!!
We are ready to exterminate them!!’
‘But there are still many survivors inside…!! At this rate……!!’
‘Get a grip!! The enemy is Enic!!
By the time we rescue all those survivors…

And so, with that giant tree engulfed in blue flames.
On that very day, I lost my sister, who had tried so hard to protect me, the entirety of my world.
And eventually, I returned to my original life.
People around me called me by my sister’s name.
Even when I didn’t understand, even when I asked why they called me by my sister’s name, they would only glance at me with pitying eyes.
