Chapter 19 – Getting Started (3)
A few days later
Mason and Sianna have a conversation. They talk to each other in a quiet atmosphere, without blushing or shouting as before.
One side offered a sincere apology.
On the other side, she just pretends to have received an apology she doesn’t like.
One side said I couldn’t stop you if you wanted it so much.
The other side hoped to block it somehow. Sincerely.
We nodded and talked a lot, but
After all, no one understands each other’s true feelings.
Indifferently, the sun goes down and morning comes again. It was an unforgivingly beautiful autumn morning.
A little house on the outskirts of a small rural village. In the morning for the first time, two women go out together.
It was the last day of the three-day period Isabella had given.
The old butler, with his tall stature, curly hair, and pretty nasty wrinkles, doesn’t sleep in the morning. It’s been like that since the beginning, but even more so after getting older.
He always gets up early in the morning, inspects the mansion, and finally heads for the gate. After passing through the trees that have begun to change color, and checking out the well-arranged fountain in the garden, I finally arrive at the gate made of huge bars and breathe in the morning air.
It was still early, and there were probably no visitors.
…I’m sure it must have been, but who were the two people walking towards the front door from afar?
He frowned a little and waited for people. Gently unlocking the mansion’s key hanging from her waist.
“…Hmm?”
One was a person he knew well, and the other was a woman he had never seen before.
Oh god
The old man unknowingly loses the key from his hand. It was a mistake he hadn’t made since becoming a skilled butler.
The keys he had dropped from his hands hit each other and made a clicking sound. I hurriedly pick up the key while hiding my shame.
A beauty that had never been seen before in my life was approaching.
Skin smoother than a piece of marble, eyes darker green than exotic jade trinkets, unusual gray-white hair and smooth, shiny lips.
Ha, the day will come when you will admire beauty even at this age.
He smiled self-deprecatingly and opened the door. The door opens with a squeaking sound and two women enter.
“…It’s no big deal, Mr. Germaine has made up his mistakes.”
Blood ran across Germaine’s white skin.
“…Kuh-hum, I’m sorry for showing you an embarrassing image.”
Mason said nothing and gave a weak laugh. The old butler, who had a keen eye for her, noticed that her condition was not good.
“Did you come here to apply for sick leave because you were not feeling well? Next time, it’s okay if you talk to the person in charge of the work…?”
“Ah, no. Today… This way.”
Mason gestured toward the beautiful woman next to her. Germaine, like her skilled butler, did not look at her face long enough to disrespect her.
“Oops, greetings are late. I am Germaine, the butler of this mansion. She is delighted to meet such a beautiful young lady.”
“…Siana, it is.”
Behind the beautiful voice in Germaine’s ear as she bowed her head, Mason’s words followed.
“I came to see Isabella. I’m just here to pick you up for a while.”
“Okay. Ms. Mason, would you like to rest for a while at the mansion? I think Lady Isabella will welcome you.”
“…Yes? Oh, no. I… I have to go to work now. Then…”
Mason said goodbye to him and left. As if he is running away from something, hurriedly.
“…Hmm.”
Germaine watched Mason walk away for a moment before closing the door.
“Follow me and I will guide you. Miss Siana.”
Hearing her footsteps, her footsteps following her brought her into her mansion. Cianna kept her silence the whole time she climbed her stairs.
Germaine begged Cianna to wait on her central staircase for a moment before she knocked on the door to Isabella’s room. After a while, the locked door opened.
In her dark purple dress, Isabella appeared in a dress decorated with pure white frills.
“…Jermaine. Good morning.”
“…Good morning. Miss. I know it’s early in the morning, but the guest…”
“Customer…? Ah.”
A faint smile appeared on Isabella’s face.
“Please let me in.”
“All right. Then-“
“Wait.”
“…Miss?”
Isabella’s hand gripped Germaine’s arm.
The sensitive old butler had stayed in this mansion for a long time. I mean, long before Isabella was born.
Her twinkling amethyst eyes gleamed with an indescribable joy.
“Germaine, could you ask the kitchen for some breakfast? Even for guests. Leave it at the door and tell me to go back.”
“All right. What would you like for tea after dinner?”
“Tea, please. With sugar.”
“All right.”
Germaine tried to go back, but Isabella seemed unwilling to let go of her hand holding her arm. She pulled Germaine a little more and whispered in her ear.
“Mister. Until I go to find it myself, don’t let anyone on the third floor.”
“…All right.”
It was only then that Germain was able to step out of her door. With the sound of the door opening wide behind her, she hears the soft voice of the lady she serves.
“Come in, Siana.”
He saw the dark shadow of a woman passing by her, but there was nothing he could do. She just doesn’t know what’s going to happen, and she has no choice but to hurry on her two decrepit legs to the kitchen cowardly.
“…”
The door was wide open, and the figure she had once thought to be her friend appeared and greeted her with her soft voice. Cianna walks in her steps. Even knowing that the door would swallow him.
It closed tightly behind it, and there was the sound of metal locking together. After that,
“You didn’t want to see me?”
A gentle embrace from behind. I can feel her soft touch through her clothes, but Ciana doesn’t turn her head.
“…Why no answer?”
It was a well-intentioned question.
“…I would have missed you.”
Her neck betrays her. The words she said in anticipation of her violence came out of her mouth much more pitifully.
A low laughing voice was heard.
“Whoops. Yes, I think I would have been rather disappointed if our Siana collapsed at this level.”
Her arm, which did not let go of her arms, is released. She is momentarily startled by the unexpected action and turns her head away. In the middle of her room is a small table and two chairs, and Isabella sits on one soft chair and points opposite her.
“Sit down.”
Sitting across from her, Cianna glared at Isabella. She wondered what she had planned since she hadn’t visited her house for three days.
Where else is Becky? If you are suffering because of me…
“What are you thinking so deeply about?”
When Cianna didn’t open her mouth, Isabella laughed mockingly.
“…Are you saying that our Sianna and Mason aren’t around?”
Suddenly, I remembered the day I carved a scar on her face.
It was regrettable that she did not leave her hideous scars. Isabella smiled softly, whether she knew her mind or not.
“Relax. Because today I won’t do what you think.”
“…Do you think I will trust you?”
“Do you have any other options? Do you really want to hear it?”
Isabella looked at her, crossing one of her legs. Sianna tried to meet her gaze. The three days was a painful time, but it also served as an opportunity to engrave her commitment.
That it would never fall apart easily.
Isabella closely monitors her behavior. She raised her body,
… She lifted a small notebook from the table. With a pencil.
“Name?”
Shiana, who lost her senses for a moment at her sudden question, couldn’t answer her question, and she just stared blankly at Isabella.
“Name.”
She continues to question Isabella’s repeated urging and answers.
“…Siana.”
“Age.”
“Now what the hell-“
“Me. This.”
“…Twenty three.”
Isabella asked each question and wrote down something in her notebook. What the hell are you up to? She tries to keep her tension and answers the questions. Thinking about what she will do soon.
However, the only thing that continued despite Shiana’s sharp nerves was her question and answer.
“Well, the family is Mason unnie, and it is small for now… Where are you from?”
“Isabella, what kind of play is this?”
In the end, at Cianna’s words, unable to overcome her frustration, Isabella, who had been facing her notebook until now, lifted her head for the first time.
“…Theater? You’re thinking about where to put you right now.”
“…What?”
“Did you think I was going to be a night shift when I told you to work at our mansion? Do you have an obscene corner while pretending not to? Ah, can’t you hide your slut nature?”
In an instant, her tension eased and Sianna’s face heated up. Because honestly, to be very honest, she didn’t think she had anything to ask for if it weren’t for that.
It was an idea she came up with as a condition of a bet that she had to try to seduce herself, but she said Isabella with her bewildered face.
“You are not alone. Everyone who works in this mansion has gone through it at least once. Did you expect any special treatment just because I played with you? If you see me with a slut like Becky-“
Shiana cut her words off, feeling embarrassed by the continued scolding.
“…Stop. Go ahead with your question.”
For a moment, Isabella looked at Siana with a cold expression.
“…Our slave. Are you talking to the master?”
Isabella held her pencil in her right hand and gently brought it to her chin.
“Why do you keep scratching my nerves? Since you don’t know it right now, you keep using bad words, and it’s been three days, so you forgot everything?”
Gritting her teeth and spitting out what she wanted was Ciani’s best of her.
“…Master.”
“I’m sorry. In the future, answer anything I say by adding ‘master’ at the end of every word.”
“…I understand, Master.”
“It is much better. What specialty do you know how to do?”
So the question and answer continued. The more I answered her questions, the more blanks or hatch marks appeared in the questions on Isabella’s scorecard, and I could hardly see her written or circled questions.
After all the questions and answers were completed, Isabella’s assessment of the totality of her scorecard responses was,
“You are incompetent.”
It was the answer that came back with a furrowed brow. Sianna felt her body shrink at her cold words.
“All I know how to do is a little housework and cooking, nothing else? But even that is at the level where I can only imitate it because I told you about it.”
Cianna bit her lower lip tightly.
“Aren’t you going to answer me?”
“…I’m sorry, Master.”
Isabella looked at Cianna as she lightly tapped her notebook on the palm of her hand. With a look of displeasure.
At that moment, she heard a light knock on the door. Isabella stood up from her seat with a bright smile that Cianna knew as if she had never done that.
“Well, let’s eat the rest for breakfast. Are you hungry?”
In fact, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t hungry. For the past few days, worry, depression, and even menstrual cramps have overlapped, so I’ve been eating and drinking, and my tight pockets, of course, couldn’t compare to a rich family’s meal.
So the smell of the food on the two plates that Isabella had brought was a smell she hadn’t smelled in a long time. Freshly baked bacon and sausage, mashed potatoes, two eggs each fried, not flipped, and freshly baked toast and butter.
It reminded me of a once-plentiful breakfast in the past that I can no longer go back to.
The savory, greasy smell quickly filled the room, and Sianna swallowed her saliva without realizing it.
So.
“Oh.”
The jingling sound of wide plates hitting the floor, and the food on top as it rolled across the floor leaving its own stain.
And Shiana saw her knocking over her plate with an exaggerated hand gesture and the natural smile on her lips.
“…What are you doing? Aren’t you eating?”
At Isabella’s words that followed as if it were nothing special.
“I can think of a way to eat that would be perfect for our slave bitch-“
Once again, I had to doubt whether the existence in front of me was the person I once felt affection for.
