Chapter 108 – Family (9)
When Mason was also intoxicated by the haziness of her sleep, a soft whisper reached her ear.
Likewise, a drowsy mumble.
-… Please call me Bella, sister…
Mason, hearing Isabella’s mumbling, momentarily takes a breath. Open her eyes wide
The first thing she felt was a tingling sensation in her arm. Mason instinctively looked down at her arms, where Isabella was asleep in her arms.
She was momentarily taken aback by the incomprehensible situation, but soon her memories began to come back to her little by little. It was not difficult to guess that she had passed out in her room, that Isabella had called her here, and that she had fallen asleep next to her.
Isabella’s actions gave me goosebumps. It’s hard to describe exactly, but she felt unpleasant and creepy.
After calming down her startled mind for a moment, she remembered the whisper that had completely driven away her sleep.
It was definitely Isabella’s voice.
Was Isabella talking in her sleep?
Of course, Mason was lost in his thoughts as he stared at Isabella, who was lying on her arm, unable to answer her questions.
Bella.
Mason never forgot that name.
No matter how much time passed, and no matter how strangely and irreparably twisted their relationship was, that name never disappeared from memory.
For her, her memories with Isabella and Lucia were the only support that helped her survive those difficult and lonely times.
She clearly remembered that when she was a child, Isabella told her to call herself Bella.
That was her name when she was young, and since we no longer treated her warmly and called her by her nickname, we had been calling her Isabella since she returned to her village.
Her request to call herself Bella only served to confuse her.
Even though every moment of your life is a hell, do you still want her to call you with affection?
After hurting Siana, Lucia, and me to the point where we can never get them back?
It was too much to describe this as selfish. It was a cruel greed that could not be called a normal way of thinking.
But, just in case.
Mason looked down at Lucia asleep in her arms. Her hair was as fine as ebony, and her beautifully closed eyes had long eyelashes.
It was a beautiful face.
It’s hard to believe that she has outgrown her cruel personality.
It was as if the emotions she felt when she saw Isabella as a child falling asleep, exhausted from playing with all her might, were unpleasantly mixed.
Her commitment to cherishing her as much as Lucia, her affection, and the memories that are now irreversible.
Right now, as much as I want to strangle her as she sleeps.
I’m hoping that this whole situation she’s going through is just an unpleasant nightmare in the middle of the night.
Mason watched her sleep in his arms until the dawn of time, not knowing what to do with her.
She felt a surge of nausea and, at the same time, felt sad.
As time passed, morning dawned, and Isabella opened her eyes and quietly woke up in her arms.
She soon saw her Mason looking at her, smiling at her with her slightly sleepy eyes and offering her greeting.
“Did you sleep well, sister?”
A gentle smile given to someone you love.
It was the beauty of a poisonous plant with bright flowers.
“…”
Mason silently nodded her head. Isabella got up from her bed with a brighter smile and pulled back her curtains.
Bright light came through the wide open curtains and hit the room. Isabella looked out her window for a moment and then spun around to face Mason.
“The weather is nice today.”
A bright and flawless voice, just like when I first returned to the village.
Is it because he heard her talk in her sleep? Or is it because she wants to somehow find a way to blame Isabella for her eccentricity and justify herself by saying that she is her victim?
Her attitude reminded me of Isabella in her childhood.
What Isabella said was not a lie. The weather was so nice.
Damn it.
When Mason tried to leave Isabella’s room, Isabella naturally blocked her path. As her mason tried to pass her and head to her door, her Isabella blocked her again with her body.
“… Get out of the way.”
Mason had no intention of going along with her antics. Especially now that she has Sianna, who can’t even function without her.
“No, Jennifer will take care of Siana for the time being.”
“… “Jennifer?”
In response to her question, Isabella nodded her head and took her hand. Mason instinctively tried to take her hand away, but when she realized again that she had decided to obey, she let it go.
“I have no intention of letting my sister out of this room until she gets better again.”
It’s going to be okay.
Of course, it was a situation that couldn’t be resolved, so her cursing rose to the top of her throat, but she managed to control herself.
“… Because I’m feeling better now. “Send it to me now.”
“You don’t think I’ll listen to that, do you?”
A firm answer with a smile. Of course, she didn’t expect her Mason to look at her with resigned eyes. Isabella seemed satisfied and led her hand towards the table.
“Sit down.”
A commanding tone of voice. Mason did as she was told and sat down in her chair. Isabella sat across from her and looked at her blankly.
Mason looked away from her uncomfortable gaze, but Isabella’s gaze did not leave her. Even though she was clearly not looking in that direction, every nerve in her body told her that Isabella was constantly watching her.
“Why are you doing this?”
Finally, Mason asked her, glaring straight at her. Isabella smiled and answered.
“Wouldn’t it be easier if I just said it was appreciating the loot?”
I laughed out loud. At one point she told me to be a part of her family, but now she says I am a trophy.
“Aren’t you busy?”
“Is it really so bad that I can’t even spend time with the person I love?”
The word love has never sounded so disgusting. Mason sighed and then looked at her.
During her childhood, as many people hoped and expected, she grew up very beautifully. She was the daughter of a large farm owner, a child with a sad family background, and yet a very upright person.
In fact, only a few people knew what kind of monster she had grown into.
“Why are you staring?”
Isabella’s provocative question. Mason didn’t answer. Isabella said with a small snort.
“It reminds me of when I was young. “The three of you often played house together, right?”
Isabella was shaken for a moment by her words. She intentionally spilled the words she said in her early morning sleep, and she wasn’t sure if she was saying it to shake her up or if she was just reminiscing about her old memories.
Whichever side she was on, the words were enough to shake her up.
Soon there was a knock on the door, and workers appeared, pushing carts loaded with breakfast. However, the food on the table was for one person.
As Mason, who had been looking at the food in front of her, looked at her in a questioning state, Isabella stood up from her seat, smiling.
“Enjoy your meal, sister. As my sister said, I’m busy, so I’ll go to work and come back.”
Isabella smiled and lightly tapped Mason on the shoulder.
“You have to eat well to be healthy, so don’t leave anything behind. Okay?”
She smiled and left the room with the employee, and Mason looked down at his meal in the quiet room and started eating.
As Isabella said, she had to save up her strength by eating a little more. She didn’t want to create a situation where she couldn’t go out when the opportunity arose due to lack of strength.
She forced herself to eat, put her cart outside the door, and slowly looked around her room. Perhaps Isabella left something of herself in her room, not in her office.
However, contrary to her expectations, the room was smaller and had less furniture than the office. The bookshelves were very small compared to the office, and there weren’t many drawers.
In her gaze, what caught her eye was the closet.
Mason opened her closet and took a closer look, but didn’t find what she was hoping for. She looked through each of her clothes just in case, but there was no foreign body feeling in her hands.
She didn’t expect much, thinking that there might be something there, and finally she looked around the large closet.
Rattle-
Then, a corner of the closet opened with the sound of something clicking. Mason felt her hand, and soon she figured out what it was.
It was a fairly large wooden box. She quietly took out her box and opened it, noticing that it was a long box without a lock.
Mason almost regretted opening it immediately.
No matter how you look at that box, it contained items that could only be used at night and that were hardly common.
Although she felt uncomfortable, she rummaged through the items to see if she could find anything. Soon she realized that there was an even smaller box among the various supplies.
When Mason carefully took out the box and opened it, a clicking sound was heard, and a little dust rose up.
The content she saw this time immediately caught her eye.
It was full of scuffed and worn items, and Mason looked at them closely.
Beads of different sizes.
A small toy.
Old handkerchief.
Unidentifiable, paper wrapped with crumbled pieces of grass.
And headdress.
Mason felt a strange sense of déjà vu, and only after looking closely at the bead did he realize what it was.
She was something that had been lost during her and Lucia’s childhood.
The beads and toys my parents bought me.
A handkerchief that Lucia asked her parents to give her as a gift.
The flower ring she made herself.
And.
It was a headdress that she had saved and sent to Lucia as a gift, using her small salary as an apprentice knight.
Mason took out her headdress with trembling hands and examined it, then hastily stuffed it into her pocket and organized her boxes.
After quickly cleaning it up, so it wouldn’t be seen that she had touched it, she put her hands in her pockets and fumbled with her headdress.
Clearly, the decoration decorated with flower sculptures was a gift to Lucia.
It was something I sent to Lucia as a gift a long time ago.
Why is Isabella doing this?
Soon, Mason was forced to admit the truth she didn’t want to face.
Isabella was there a long time ago, or from the beginning, than she expected.
She must have been deeply twisted.
