Chapter 10 – Cleft (2)
Mason carried his weary steps home. Her head was full of her thoughts about her Sianna.
I should have been more patient, but I shouldn’t have gotten mad at Sianna anyway.
Siana was like a child. It was unreasonable to ask her to understand her, even with a three-year-old thrown in the middle of her adolescence who was far too inexperienced to understand her own feelings.
But Mason was also an ordinary person. She couldn’t help but feel tired from the constant, blind accusations. Now, as Isabella said, she had become an emotional dumpster, she was getting tired of Sianna, who considered her only an object of her anger.
“…No Mason. Wake. I got a job though, and Isabella is helping. What are you going to do if you say something weak?”
Mason comforted himself and opened the door to her. The lights were on in her kitchen, and through a crack in the window I saw Isabella sitting at her table.
“…Isabella? Hasn’t she gone yet?”
When I opened the door to her house, the first thing that greeted her was her delicious smell.
Cooking? Did Isabella do it? As she smelled the delicious stew wafting in, she felt a little tired as she entered the kitchen.
“…Are you, are you?”
There, Sianna was setting the pot of her stew down on her table.
“…Siana?”
Isabella hurriedly seated Mason, who was dumbfounded, at her table. She laughed and put the stew in her bowl in front of Mason. Shiana also hurriedly sat down opposite Mason.
“This is dinner prepared by Shiana. Of course, I helped a little.”
Does Siana cook? Suddenly? Mason looked at Cianna with a slightly surprised expression, but she averted her gaze. Isabella hurriedly gestured to Mason, who was still grasping the situation.
“What are you doing sister! You should try it quickly and tell us what you think. How hard Siana-san made it!”
“Yes…”
Mason hurriedly took a spoonful and took a bite of her stew. Warm, tender, succulent broth, meat, and vegetables that feel as if they are melting away. Moderate seasoning suited my palate.
“…How is it?”
Shiana, who was restlessly asking her, let out a sigh of relief the moment she saw the smile on Mason’s lips.
“…It’s delicious, Siana, I’ll eat well. Isabella, thank you too.”
Mason greeted her wholeheartedly and started the meal.
That day, Mason really had a good time for the first time in a long time. Although she didn’t talk much during the meal, she realized that Cianna felt sorry for herself by looking at her, so Mason felt that her core, which had accumulated over the past few days, had been relieved a little. Felt.
When Isabella returned to her house in the dark after dinner, Mason volunteered to take Isabella home. Then another Sianna act surprised her.
“Mason, Joe, be careful.”
Just three words from Cianna, but that was enough to surprise Mason.
“…Yes, I’ll be back, Siana.”
She left the house with Isabella in a wonderful mood. As they walked the path to her house, Isabella looked up at Mason with her broad smile and said,
“How are you, sister? It seems that Shiana-san is very sorry.”
“…Isabella, what happened while I was gone?”
A smile of admiration appeared on Mason’s lips when he asked that question.
“Nothing. I was just helping Shiana to be honest.”
“To be honest?”
“Siana was just afraid. She fears her sister will abandon her.”
Mason listened to Isabella’s story in silence. Isabella understands her feelings for her and that she is helping her, bit by bit, slowly break down the walls around herself.
“Sister, Sianna feels her deep gratitude and sorry for her sister. She just didn’t know how to deal with her insecurities and fears. Sianna wants to make her apology. Even if it is difficult right now, I will slowly help her become her honest, bright self.”
Isabella suddenly looked down at her and got a strange feeling for the first time, that the girl of her childhood had become such a mature adult, Mason unconsciously stroked her hair.
“Isabella. A lot has changed.”
At her words, Isabella’s eyes seemed to move slightly, but Mason quickly forgot about her as she smiled.
“It’s changing, sister, I’m the same Isabella…”
Mason felt a slight strain in her hand as she crossed her arms. She continued stroking Isabella’s hair and spoke slowly.
“Thank you. Isabella. Everything.”
There was a lot in Mason’s brief but sincere thanks, and her quick-witted Isabella laughed silently.
A month had passed since Isabella started caring for Cianna, and Cianna began to change unbeknownst to her.
First of all, Ciana didn’t fight Mason anymore. Every morning when she leaves her house to do her work, Sianna sees her off, rubbing her sleepy eyes. By day she stays with Isabella, and by evening she prepares to welcome Mason together.
But the most different thing about her is that little by little she started to consider Isabella a friend. The friendship and trust she felt for the first time, the security she felt the moment she was with her. She began to open up to Isabella as she did to Mason.
Little by little, Cianna began to give Isabella the pure trust and goodwill of her child. Isabella smiled as she saw Cianna open her heart faster than she thought.
“Perhaps it was because I was suffering from the affection and love of the other person.”
Siana needed a support. She is a crutch to fully support and help herself. And now that Isabella is slowly taking her place,
Little by little, it was time for her to engulf her into her shadow.
Isabella made her way to Sianna’s house, humming her song. She opened the front door and knocked on the door, which swung open and revealed Cianna.
“Welcome, Isa… Bell…?”
Shiana opened the door and spoke in a bright voice, then she hurriedly looked behind her and her complexion changed. Her insecurities, which still linger in her others, made her instinctively wary of her.
Isabella greeted with a bright smile as usual.
“Hello Miss Sianna, this is my ‘old friend’, Veronica.”
The blonde, blue-eyed woman smiled softly, following quietly behind her master.
Ciana, who was wary of the new person, was taken aback when Isabella deliberately emphasized that she was her old friend.
Sianna was sitting at her kitchen table, wary of a new person invading her familiarity. To her Sianna, her Isabella was her first friend since birth, the first person to accept her as her Sianna, not as her saint.
The fact that Isabella, who in a sense is in a different position than Mason, has her ‘old friend’ Becky, only informed Cianna of the cold reality.
Isabella and Mason are everything to me, but Isabella may not be everything to me.
Sianna felt her fear of being abandoned rise again.
Perhaps, Isabella, like the members of the church at that time, me-
She involuntarily began to tear the nails of her hands, which were neatly gathered in her lap. Her anxious eyes turned to Becky, who was sitting across from her.
When her eyes met, Becky grinned, but Cianna couldn’t.
“Nice to meet you, Siana. As you may have heard before, she is the former Veronica.”
“…”
Cianna tried to greet her Isabella as she learned, but her mouth didn’t move. Whether or not she knew her desperate feelings, Isabella spoke with a coy smile.
“Siana, I told you.”
“Oh, hello… My name is Siana…”
Ciana hurriedly responded to Isabella’s words. She had only thoughts in her head that she should not be hated, so that Isabella would not abandon her.
“Becky, come to think of it, didn’t Lucia send you something the other day?”
“Yeah, I think I’ll have to go up and back for a while, Miss Siana?”
“Yes yes?”
“By any chance, if you’ll excuse me, can I go up to Siana’s room for a while? Lucia said she needed something, so I decided to send it.”
“…Yes.”
Ciana gave permission without listening to Becky’s story properly. All that was in her head now was that the two of them were talking rudely, and calling a girl named Veronica by the nickname Becky.
Called becky The two of them are so close.
Every time Cianna remembered Isabella’s respect for her, she became a little depressed, but when she showed her depression, she was haunted by the thought that Isabella might hate her.
“Siana, are you okay?”
“Yes?”
“Are you sick? Are you feeling a bit tired today?”
“Oh, no…”
Isabella looked at her like that and smiled at her. As she had predicted, she was afraid that Ciana would lose her one and only ‘her friend’. Siana’s pure childlike appearance was cute.
“Siana, are you curious about why I brought Becky?”
Ciana looked at Isabella in surprise. Her purple eyes made her feel like she knew everything. She began to feel her nakedness again, as if she had revealed the truth in front of Isabella for the first time.
“Ciana, Becky is an old friend of mine and hers, and I brought her because I thought it would be nice for Cianna to get to know her as well. I hope Miss Sianna can get along with many people besides Mason and me.”
Isabella took Cianna’s hand as she was biting her fingernails under her kitchen table. She was startled and tried to slip out of her grasp, grabbing her soft hand that didn’t hurt, but she couldn’t get it out.
“So you don’t have to worry. I’m not abandoning Siana. As much as I have become close with Sianna, I just want Sianna to become close with Becky.”
Sianna lowered her flushed face, trying to calm her beating heart. It was the first feeling she felt. Shame on her for revealing her own futile worries? Or was it because she was surprised by Isabella’s sudden behavior?
Or not…
Cianna slowly raised her head. Her ebony-soft black hair, her purple eyes looking at herself warmly and mysteriously, her pointed nose and her lips smiling softly.
She realized that Isabella was rare, that she was a beautiful woman.
As Sianna was trying to find answers to her feelings, she heard a sound coming down her stairs from this floor. She hurriedly took her hand, which was wet with her sweat, and wiped it on the hem of her dress.
Floundering in her confused emotions, she didn’t realize that Becky had spent more time than necessary looking for her things.
“Welcome Becky. I found it?”
“No, I have no idea where Lucia unnie put it. I have to send the letter again saying I couldn’t find it.”
Becky came down and spoke to Isabella, who still had her head down.
“Ms. Sianna, are you ready? I hope Sianna likes chicken sandwiches.”
“Yes yes?”
Becky glared at her Isabella as she hurriedly raised her head and saw Cianna put on a look of disbelief about her.
“Didn’t you say you said everything?”
“Sorry, I think I forgot.”
“Isabelle, you really…”
Isabella, who said she was sorry to Becky, who sighed, said to Sianna with her bright face.
“Siana, hurry up and get her outerwear. I’m going on a picnic today. To the forest.”
“…Picnic?”
