Chapter 42 – Encounters
Spring has come again
I went back to school
The desk I sat at for the first time in years was very awkward.
Until then, being away from the desk was an awkward life.
When I thought that way, I realized that my life had also changed a lot.
Year 4, they say, is the time when college life is coming to an end.
When most students choose to complete their major and choose further study or go back to society,
I hadn’t chosen anything from those two paths yet.
Of course, that was the story until the last semester, and these days, he was tinkering with the options offered by the Fellowes family.
It was an issue that could be a problem if you were to make it a problem, but my mind was unstable these days to even think about that.
At least it was all thanks to her that I was able to settle down a little.
With the sound of the door opening, I heard the professor come in and say that class will begin.
“I’ll call you to attend.”
“Miherin.”
“Yes.”
“Theodore Schwartz.”
“Yes.”
It has always been a very boring time.
“Edward Weiss.”
“Yes.”
My name was called and I answered in very short words.
The problem happened after that.
“Carolyn Perez.”
Fellowes…?!
I unconsciously looked at the place where the answer came from.
In that spot, a woman who looked exactly like her was looking in front of her.
It seemed that Seria would look like that when she grew up.
However, there were also some differences.
Eye color or hair color.
And…
The chest was slightly different.
What are you thinking?
I decided to put my thoughts away and focus on class.
But the fact that she was her family kept bringing up her thoughts.
Is it supposed to be the cause of the darkness in Seria’s heart?
Strictly speaking, there was nothing wrong with her, but it was inevitable that her thoughts were biased.
It was probably inevitable that she couldn’t pay attention in class because she was thinking about this and that.
###
Class is over.
Even considering that it was a class that had been evaluated as a good class for inducing sleep from before, I was very sleepy.
After relaxing a bit while sitting down, I packed my things and left the classroom.
It was lunchtime and I was on my way to eat.
“Edward Weiss?”
Someone called my name
She turned her head in the direction of the sound and found Carolyn Peroz standing there.
How does this person know my name and why is he calling me?
As I was examining all her possibilities, she approached me, closing her distance.
For now, I decided to pretend I didn’t know.
“Hey… Who are you?”
I don’t know if he meant to play it to her tune or if there was some other reason, but it seemed she agreed to play it to her own tune.
“Nice to meet you. My name is Carolyn von Ferroz.”
She greeted me with her stance, the standard of her manners.
“Oh, hello. My name is Edward Weiss.”
It was an etiquette that I rarely used, but somehow I was able to find an old memory and give an appropriate answer.
“What are you doing?”
In fact, this was the most important thing to me, so I asked a slightly rude but direct question.
Knowing my name meant that I was already aware of my existence, so I was a little reluctant to go around and talk to each other.
“We’re talking about it here, so where should we go to eat?”
With a face whose expression was barely visible, she invited me to eat.
I was a bit reluctant, but I accepted it anyway because it was someone I would have to face someday.
“I see.”
So we started heading to the restaurant.
It seemed like she was leading the way and I was following behind.
The gazes around us sometimes turned to us, but as if it were Fellowes, the gaze soon faded.
The one she brought me to was a very fancy restaurant.
But I’ve been to this place before.
It was the same restaurant where I had dinner with a professor before.
“Doesn’t this seem like your first time here?”
At first glance, it sounded disrespectful, but she kept the same tone as before, as if she didn’t mean it that way.
It just seemed like I was born with a lack of emotional expression.
“I’ve been there once with my advisor.”
However, apart from what I’ve been to, I didn’t know what was delicious here, so I ordered what I had ordered before.
As soon as the order ended, there was silence.
It’s like an evaluation eye.
Eyes were on me.
I was going to say something, but the other person hit me.
“First of all, I called you today because I wanted to say thank you.”
There was no old age between us.
Of course, there was nothing to thank each other for.
“My little brother.”
Ah.
“I heard that his grades really went up dramatically while I was an exchange student for a year.”
Was that the story?
My tense mind was relieved a little.
However, I still have a secret to hide, so I haven’t completely solved it.
“It’s thanks to Seria’s hard work.”
Oops.
Mistakes were caused by familiarity.
If she was a person of her level, it would not have been a problem for her to notice the meaning of what she called Seria.
I was so nervous again
She continued with her attitude, not sure if it meant she didn’t care or if she was just passing for a while.
“She never thought the kid would study like that… She sure seems to have her skills?”
“It’s overrated.”
“Or maybe there were some other motivations? For example…A human liking.”
I wasn’t pretending not to know.
She was looking through the rough situation.
“I’m not sure what it is, but it seems like a great motivator.”
Her mouth was pierced, but she couldn’t speak.
With a few polite words, she knew the rough truth.
If I stayed like this, it would only add to the reasoning, so the moment she was about to say something, she cut me off.
“The meal is served. Enjoy your meal.”
The meal continued, not knowing whether she was eating through her mouth or through her nose.
The story that followed was truly ceremonial.
What is your major and what subject do you think about?
Words that seemed to come out of a social circle passed between us.
After eating, we left the restaurant.
“Are you at the mansion today?”
It must have been about tutoring, but I didn’t hear it that much.
“The meal was enjoyable. Enough then.”
Then she went away
It would happen someday, but I never thought it would happen so soon.
A sigh came out.
I felt strangely comfortable thinking that maybe the future that would come someday came a little early.
The dark hearts inside me started to find me again.
Yes, this situation was nonsensical.
A relationship with her was created by some chance of her, but in fact, it was a star she could not look at.
It’s just that I was really lucky that it happened.
I went back to my room with her heart full.
###
While Seria was taking class next to him,
Is it correct to say that it is a time when calling it a class has become ambiguous?
She noticed that his expression was not very good.
His attitude seemed strangely distant, his tone a little stiff.
She clearly sensed something had happened.
So, during a break after class, she held his hand.
The warmth that passed through her hands was truly warm.
“What happened?”
As if he was not going to hide this incident, he immediately began to tell the story from earlier.
Meeting her sister.
Saying that the older sister seems to have noticed their relationship.
After he said that, he even looked relieved at first glance.
She recently had her older sister come back to her mansion, but she never imagined this would happen in such a short time.
She laughed in her heart.
She pulled his hand, which she was holding, and she brought his face to her chest.
Is it just because of something like that that I’m so depressed?
She was the one he seemed to love.
No matter what, isn’t it a counter-proof that he’s taking his relationship with her seriously?
So she decided to reassure me.
“It’s okay, sir.”
She gave him that reassurance, knowing that she and he would never part.
However, since he did not know the inside story, that was all he could say.
“You won’t get in the way between us.”
After that, she started stroking the back of his head.
Just like when her mother soothes her own child.
He also seemed to feel a little more at ease.
The fact that he didn’t stop petting her made her a little annoyed.
In the end, it was her annoyance at her sister for trying to tear even her teacher away from herself.
‘Not as good as the teacher.’
If that really becomes a reality, she will gladly raise her sword against her sister.
Girl in love,
Perhaps it would be more appropriate to call her a woman.
The promise of a lover who has fallen out of love was really heavy and had a dark color.
