Chapter 10 – Leah -1-
A hundred or so villagers are all gathered and looking up at me.
With that gaze loaded with many negative emotions.
Why did this happen?
“What made the village uneasy?”
Giles asked me, frowning.
“I didn’t make you nervous, Delton turned into a demon! You have to run away quickly or defeat them!”
A while ago, Giles and the village youths caught me from hiding and put me on top of this podium.
It’s like a picture of a witch hunt you saw in a textbook.
That was just embarrassing.
“Jamon!”
Hearing my words, Giles called one of the two young men in charge of Delton.
He’s not dead
I’m glad.
As if it had been ordered in advance, when my name was called, Jamon and another young man dragged a large sack along.
“According to what you said, this sack contains the Devil, not Delton.”
It was an expression with many meanings.
Could it be that the devil has returned to Delton?
If so, Giles’ attitude is understandable.
“Ask again. What made the village uneasy?”
I couldn’t respond to the repeated words of Giles, who opened his eyes fiercely.
“When I saw it earlier, it was clear…….”
He cut me off
“Stop.”
Giles turned his head and glanced at Jamon, who grabbed the sack upside down and pulled out the contents.
Iron flip.
‘What the fuck.’
Sure enough, the dark creature I saw earlier popped out of the bag.
And it stood tall in its place and turned its gaze towards me.
“Uh, ah! Shivaaaaar!”
I screamed in surprise, and people came running and subdued me.
Thanks to that, even though I didn’t want to see it, I was forced to face what was Delton.
The demon that had swallowed Delton opened its white mouth at me and let out a grotesque metal sound.
“Are you crazy!? Mr. Fuck! Let go! Let go! Can’t you see that!?”
No matter how much he shouted, the expressions on the faces of Giles and others showed only contempt, disgust, and pity rather than fear.
‘Why?’
Feeling something strange about it, I tried to calm myself down, but I instinctively shrank at the sight of that bizarre guy and felt the horror, so I panicked, so I couldn’t calm down at all.
After going crazy for a while, the dark demon was dragged away by the young men at Giles’ direction.
“Does that look human?! That’s not Delton! Am I the only one who sees that as a devil!?”
No one answered my words.
I was dumbfounded and looked at the surroundings, but all of them were cold eyes.
Giles sighed.
“I am not crazy. You are crazy.”
Crazy? I?
“Last time I liked Delton’s demonization of not wanting to work, even though it was rough. But if you listened to him just now, he made it clear that he became a member of the village with his mouth, even though it was milking the goats, not farming.”
“What!? What bullshit is that? Just his words!”
Delton had told me that earlier in the cabin, but he had turned demonic right after our last conversation.
Didn’t have time to listen.
Could it be that you heard that terrible metal sound in language?
‘Fuck, what the hell happened?’
Things got weirder.
“Delton broke one unspoken rule of this town, but now you broke two.”
What are the rules?
Was there anything like that?
Giles looked around at the gathered villagers and spoke again.
“Now the devil in this town is Ed, you, not Delton.”
“What are you saying…….”
Seeing people as demons
“However, since you have been of great help to the village, I will be merciful.”
‘Help?’
Are you talking about potatoes?
Anyway, I’m glad you’re merciful.
To be honest, I only thought I was being kicked out because the atmosphere was threatening.
As I was about to take a breather, a word from Giles pierced my heart.
“Get out of this town right now.”
This fucking dog.
* * *
Dense forest.
Beautiful trees blocked the sun, but the humidity made my whole body sweaty.
“I hate the Communist Party, too, you assholes.”
Fucking communist bastards with no degree.
Neither Gary nor Marsilia, nor anyone else in the village, acted on Giles’s expulsion order.
As a result, I was really kicked out of town.
I felt like my stomach would turn upside down, so I gulped down the water in the wooden barrel.
If it hadn’t been for Marsilia secretly handing over a small amount of food and water, saying that she had brought it in a hurry, I would have really been looking for it by now.
Maybe it’s because her breasts aren’t usually big, so I was grateful that her kind heart was out of the normal category.
“Damn it…….”
Okay, let’s pretend I’m out of my mind.
But that’s why you banish them out of town?
As you say, a person whose mind is not intact?
They say no one leads the village, but in fact, this bastard Giles was the only vested interest in it.
“Ha….”
By the way, I decided on the direction and walked for a whole day, but the scenery did not change.
I didn’t know when I was arrested, but it was true that the forest around the village was like a maze.
“I’m still glad.”
When expelled, all personal belongings such as perfume were taken away.
[The amount of dinars-Nardil]
Having learned from Ben, I hid it in my pants.
When Delton fled right after he changed, it was thanks to Nardil first, not Marsilia.
“Intellect beats instinct.”
If I had gone to Marsilia first, all I had left would be a piece of trash with Delton’s bad handwriting on it.
“Ah.”
[Inquire about the witch’s hut in the village full of donkeys west of Tallard, and he-]
There was this too
It was a piece of paper that Ben had written the address on to bring his old mother to town, but it was tucked away in his pants, with the back part slightly erased, as if it had been swept along with Nardil’s paper.
“A witch?”
It didn’t sound like something she would say to her own mother, but well, everyone has family affairs.
I wanted to throw it away, but I left it alone to use it as a substitute for toilet paper.
“It’s fucking hot. Really.”
I was kicked out, but on a good note, the expenditure on village furnishings was gone, so not 700 dinars, but all a thousand dinars were mine.
The situation is not good, but I have to think positively.
I couldn’t get out of the forest as I walked until dark in silence, but I had good news.
“Pond!”
A small pond full of blue water.
I was afraid because the water had already run out, but it seems that there is no law to die.
Just like that, he threw his head into the pond.
“Upper-.”
As the refreshing water enters your body, it feels like the fog in your head is clearing.
After drinking enough water and filling the canteen, he gathered leaves to make the ground soft.
Then, while rummaging through my backpack, I picked up some fruit.
“I’ll have to start with the ones that rot quickly.”
He said he had brought it in a hurry, but when he looked closely, he found a chunk of goat cheese.
Personally, I didn’t like the strong fishy smell, but not now.
“There is no such thing as high calorie.”
I ate the fruit in an instant, peeled off a bit of the paper that wrapped the cheese, and ate it with my fingers a few times.
When my stomach was full, I put my hands on the ground and looked up at the sky.
As a high school graduate, I didn’t have the wisdom to recognize constellations that I wasn’t interested in, but nonetheless, they were definitely different from the Earth’s night sky.
A moon similar to Earth’s but much larger in size.
I don’t know how long it’s been since I’ve looked at the sky like this.
“You must escape tomorrow.”
Running out of food is only a matter of time.
Fortunately, Giles led the people and periodically caught and killed dangerous animals and goblins in the forest.
Had it not been for him, the chances of survival would have been lower.
“Is this love-hate?”
I’m sorry.
After escaping the forest, let’s go back to Tallard and get the dinar from the merchant and leave the city.
Maybe Nardil and Delton will come and ask for your money back.
Peck.
Oh, you can just throw away the luggage left at the inn.
Because there is no important baggage.
Damn, come to think of it, I blew off the inn for a day.
Zhong.
“It’s such a waste, huh? What?”
I didn’t know, but as I was conscious, my index finger tickled.
Thinking it might be a bug, I raised my arm to brush off his hand, and a blue lump dangled from my finger.
“Oh, oh! Fuck!”
Startled, I quickly shook his hand and grabbed the thick twig I had saved earlier.
I aimed it at that lump and looked at it.
Pout.
A bluish translucent mass that puffs up like a balloon filled with water.
This…….
“Slime?”
I don’t know if it’s called that here, but it was definitely a slime I knew.
A slime that no one saw and didn’t even know existed was suddenly sucking my index finger?
“Isn’t it something like hydrochloric acid? Fuck.”
In anxiety, I hurriedly checked my index finger, and only slightly smeared goat cheese was sucked cleanly, but it didn’t hurt or itch.
Since I’m scratching my head, I don’t think there’s any hostility towards me. The slime makes a cute sound and moves slowly somewhere.
“Is that a monster too?”
Scratching the bridge of his nose, he approached the slime and picked it up.
Poop.
There’s something cute about making a sound that makes a cat’s cry a little rounder.
“You are now my friend.”
I really liked the feel of it because it was soft to the touch.
“I’ll be with you until I escape the forest.”
A movie about treating a bloody volleyball like a human on an uninhabited island passed by.
Was his name Wilson?
“That sounds too manly…….”
If you’re going to go out together, a woman is better.
“Leah. That is your name.”
He smiled and gave the slime a name.
Remembering the ever-kind Marsilia of the bottomless pit, I stole her eyes and lay down with the fluffy Lia as a pillow.
“I loved you, bitch.”
