## Chapter 34 – 04. Only if It’s Not Me
04. Only If It’s Not Me
Sodom and Gomorrah, the Dark Shadow of K-Entertainment
Recently, Prosecutor Lee Na-eun of the Criminal Division 3 of the Incheon Central District Prosecutors’ Office, regarded as the most upright and just figure within the South Korean judiciary, was caught up in a horrific incident. Fortunately, she only sustained minor injuries, but the incident resulted in a shocking tragedy in which one executive officer, two investigators, and one clerk lost their lives.
In an interview with this paper after the incident, Prosecutor Lee Na-eun expressed her unwavering commitment to fighting for justice despite the great shock.
The place where she was attacked is the heart of K-Entertainment, commonly known as ‘Entertainment Street.’ It is a hub where numerous large agencies are concentrated, a sacred place that those who dream of a career in entertainment aspire to visit at least once. However, while she was investigating there, an unexpected disaster occurred.
The case Prosecutor Lee Na-eun was investigating involved the widespread issue of illegal sexual favors and prostitution in the entertainment industry. Trainees, as well as already debuted celebrities, were being dragged into the ugly demands of high-ranking officials, their success held hostage. Such criminal acts were openly committed in this area, and the scale and organization were beyond imagination. The reality hidden behind the glamorous facade of K-Entertainment is reminiscent of the corruption of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Despite numerous difficulties, Prosecutor Lee Na-eun made it clear that she would fight to the end to realize justice, overcoming the threats and obstacles blocking her path.
– Shin Mirae Daily, Reporter Seo Hyun-joo
Soo-ah read the article in a businesslike voice.
At first glance, it seemed like it was written by Yoon Ha-young, who still hadn’t come to her senses, but that was an article I had Seo Hyun-joo write.
“Hmm. It’s adequate. Post it as is.”
“Yes, Master.”
The reason I’m bothering to post this article is for justification.
Now that I’ve decided to make Prosecutor Lee Na-eun my plaything and use her, I need to give her team’s losses a reason.
As the article states, four members of the prosecutor’s team were killed; no one would just brush that off, thinking, ‘Oh, well.’ Not even in the demonic Incheon.
Of course, if Rainbow Miracle suffers because of this, it’s all for nothing, so I’m planning to throw a bomb at another agency that has nothing to do with me.
Most agencies operate sexual favors and even run specialized teams, so this will be a real nuke.
In the meantime, I’ll launch ‘Goryeo Entertainment,’ a pure 100% entertainment company with no sexual favors, and debut LUMINA.
How will people believe that?
Lee Na-eun, the hero who exposed sexual favors in the entertainment industry, will guarantee it with her honor. Goryeo Entertainment is an agency with no sexual favors.
And there really won’t be any. Why would I give my collection to someone else? Are you crazy?
“How did the implant usage records go?”
“They’ve been handled cleanly. Eun-mi is a specialist in that area, apparently. I was surprised too.”
“Hmm.”
Well, she’s a spy, after all…
And from the National Intelligence Service…
Come to think of it, I need to play with her a bit too.
What was her purpose in the first place? How big of a picture is she painting that someone with the ‘patriotism’ trait is even manipulating the prosecutor’s office database?
Not even hesitating to commit murder.
‘Could she be a black ops agent? There’s no rule that black ops agents only operate overseas.’
“I didn’t know you had such abilities? Good job, Seo Eun-mi.”
“Thank you, Master.”
Seo Eun-mi smiled brightly as always and bowed.
I suddenly wonder what her real face behind that mask looks like.
“What will happen to Prosecutor Lee Na-eun? Is she going on vacation for the time being?”
“That’s what will happen if she wants it. However, if a case with so many prosecutor’s office deaths is reported in the media, the prosecutor’s office can’t just stand by. If only for appearances. Public opinion will be boiling. Then there’s a possibility that they’ll push Prosecutor Lee Na-eun this time.”
“Which means?”
“She may end up commanding a special investigation team.”
“Oh… a special investigation… But that has to go to the National Assembly, right?”
“Excuse me? No. The Incheon High Prosecutors’ Office can designate a special investigation team.”
“Oh, really?”
“When the matter is serious, has a large impact, or conflicts of sensitive interests are expected, an independent investigation agency, a special investigation team, can be established according to the procedures of each High Prosecutors’ Office.”
That’s different from the reality before my possession.
These trivial things don’t come out in games or setting books, so I can’t help but not know.
‘But if the National Assembly designates a special investigation team for fairness and independence, and the prosecutor’s office designates it… is that really a special investigation team?’
It’s a twisted world in many ways.
Well, it wouldn’t be called the demonic Incheon for nothing.
“If Prosecutor Lee Na-eun becomes a special prosecutor, it will be much easier to achieve Master’s goals.”
Either way, it’s not bad for me.
“Then put in a word for that.”
“Yes, I understand.”
“Oh, and that reporter, Yoon Ha-young.”
“Shall I take care of her?”
“No. If Lee Na-eun becomes a special prosecutor, tell her to put her in there.”
“Ah.”
“She’ll take care of my competitors the most diligently. Taking care of her comes next.”
“Yes, I understand.”
If she exposes Rainbow Miracle or anything related to me?
Lee Na-eun will block it.
“Then let’s handle it that way… How are the investments doing? I think there should be some that have gone up by now.”
Today’s date is September 7th.
Two weeks have already passed, so it’s about time for something to bite.
“Uh… that’s…”
Soo-ah trailed off.
She seemed a little flustered.
“Why?”
“Surprisingly, we’re making a profit…”
“Why is that surprising? Do you want to get scolded?”
“N, no… but…”
“Huh.”
She really thinks I invested randomly.
“Just report.”
“Ahem, yes.”
While listening to her report, I make notes of the changes and give instructions.
“Real Production is that company, right? The one releasing a game this time.”
“Yes. It’s a week away from release.”
What? That early?
It’s much faster than I thought.
“Hmm… Roughly put a sell order at 300,000 won.”
“Excuse me? The current stock price is 8,000 won?”
“Yeah. It’ll go up that much.”
“Um… Th, that… The game coming out from Real Production, both the CBT evaluation and the OBT weren’t that great… And stock prices of game companies don’t usually rise that sharply in the first place…”
“Don’t you trust me?”
“…”
She was silent for a long time.
Of course, her point is a fact.
No matter how successful a game is, going from 8,000 won to 300,000 won is generally impossible.
But what if there are all sorts of manipulative forces and the company CEO’s legendary lies?
‘After unexpectedly hitting a jackpot, he lied that he would make a perfect immersive virtual reality sex game, attracting the attention of gamers around the world. But when the stock price actually rose, he sold and ran away. It hit 330,000 won and then started to plummet. I just need to pull out before that.’
There are so many people who were harmed by this incident that there’s even a side quest to kill the founder of Real Production.
“I told you it would go up several times. Everything in the portfolio will go up like that.”
“I… see…”
“Ah, right. For now, take out everything else and put it into Real Production.”
I wasn’t sure which would bite first, so I put everything in there for now,
But if something bites, I need to pour everything into that.
“S, seventy-five billion won like this…”
She reluctantly carried out the order with tears in her eyes.
The #1 plaything still doesn’t have faith in me.
“How’s the prison coming along?”
“Ugh… Y, yes. We’ve already drawn up all the correctional work execution plans, and all that’s left is the land acquisition plan and the prison construction plan. We’re still looking for land to secure.”
“Since it’s a plan, we don’t need land right away, right? Killing a gang to secure land and building a prison for 500 inmates there – I guess I can’t say that, right?”
“…Yes.”
Tsk.
Well, either way, it’s not going to happen anytime soon even if I rush it…
Aside from the funds, the construction time alone will take at least six months.
“Okay. Keep looking for land. We’ll be hiring mercenaries in earnest once we secure the funds this time, so look into that too.”
“Yes, I understand.”
“Don’t assume that the investment will fail and slack off.”
“I, I’m not doing that, Master…”
I stretched as I watched her diligently taking notes.
With so many things going on, even the morning report I hear as soon as I wake up is quite long.
And it’s not even over yet.
“The rest… let’s do it there.”
“Yes, Master.”
I’ve narrowed down the candidates for Goryeo Entertainment’s new office in Ganghwa.
Today, I’m going to look around them and hopefully sign a contract.
+++
Pyongyang. Kumsusan Palace of the Sun.
Ko Young-man, who looks to be in his early 30s but is actually an old man well over 70, looked at the man who entered as the heavy door opened.
The man bowed 90 degrees and then quickly stood in front of him.
“Here are the Young Master’s subsequent movements as you requested.”
He politely handed over the documents and bowed 90 degrees again.
Ko Young-man took the documents without a word of thanks and examined them.
“Investment?”
“Yes. After purchasing a 16 billion won house with Goryeo Entertainment’s cash, he is making investments worth 75 billion won.”
“Hmm.”
He shuffled through the documents with a displeased look.
“What does that guy know about investing?”
“…”
Still, it wasn’t all disappointing.
After inheriting Goryeo Entertainment, his actions, although centered on chasing women, were aimed at running the company and pursuing profits.
And,
“…He stopped taking drugs?”
“Yes. Young Master Ko Mu-yeol has not taken drugs even once since August 24, the day he inherited the company.”
“…”
That was truly commendable.
It’s hard enough for humans to quit smoking, let alone drugs. This is not possible with human willpower.
“Hmm. Has he finally… come to his senses?”
“…He’s also working hard. According to the rumors, he’s taking the initiative in situations, unlike before.”
“Is that so?”
Ko Young-man, who had examined the contents at the back, smiled slightly.
“This old man only gave him a pittance, but he didn’t complain once. Usually, he would have made a fuss about why there was so little. As if it were natural.”
“The Young Master is clearly reflecting.”
Ko Young-man nodded.
“He still has some shame.”
