Chapter 119 – Underwater City Under the Sea (2)
May was literally a fish out of water.
He swam freely in front of us, showing off his quick movements.
In contrast, we are creatures that originally lived on land.
Of course, I can’t chase after Mei at the same speed…
I thought so, but that was only for me.
I was the only one lagging behind, but everyone else was able to move through the water at a similar speed or faster than May.
Shall I explain in the order in which they were summoned?
First, let’s start with Ellie.
When you take off the armor you were wearing without the mace in your hand, it looks much lighter, but you cannot move quickly in the water with just that.
Eli then used his divine power to materialize wings of light behind his back, and moved his wings to push the water and control its direction, so his movements were not restricted at all even in the water.
Next is Yuria.
Yuria thought that just by looking at her body, she swims using her arms and legs, similar to mine.
But the difference between me and Yuria is the tail. Yuria moved her arms and legs as well as her tail vigorously, allowing her to move forward at high speeds.
When changing directions, she uses her arms and legs to turn, but basically swims with the power of her tail.
Next is Lien.
Basically, Lien does not use divine energy like Ellie or have different body parts like Yuria, but she is a human just like me.
But surprisingly, Lien was able to fly through the water.
Flying through water? You might be wondering what this means.
But… She’s literally flying.
Basically she has to swim by moving her arms and legs like me, but by kicking her legs back with all her might, she has a burst of speed and propels herself forward.
I think she probably uses her leg power to kick water and move forward.
Is there any need to explain Rhenia, who can unite with the Water Spirit King and Naiad?
She is still moving faster than May in front of me.
Noah is swimming underwater using a similar method to Ellie.
While Ellie swims using wings created with her divine power, Noah uses her blood to move freely through the water.
Normally, when blood is dissolved in water, it is natural for it to mix with water, but it doesn’t seem to be a problem at all for Noah, a Berserker called a blood mage who can manipulate blood at will.
Even Rachel, who is thought to be the weakest physically here, uses her magic so it’s no problem at all.
She was able to move quickly through the water by creating a whirlpool behind her back and legs and pushing the water out.
Mei and I are staring blankly at the figure moving in the water without any problem.
“Well, you guys are really amazing. Still, I thought I was the fastest in the water…”
“I never thought I could move this well.”
Wouldn’t it be more accurate to describe my characters as fish out of water?
“Ha, anyway, I’ll guide you to the Kingdom of Prash. Follow me!”
May said that to us and swam forward again.
“Jinuna, please hold my hand.”
Lenia came up to me and held out her hand.
I know that my strength alone is not enough to follow May.
“Thank you, Renia.”
I held Lenia’s hand out to me, and as I held her hand, Lenia gently moved forward.
It can move at a faster speed, but it’s probably out of consideration for me.
As I moved at a fast pace thanks to Lenia, I took out my compass and checked her direction.
As expected, the direction of the compass was the same as the direction May was moving.
The game item discovered by the compass must be in Mei’s fish-man kingdom, the Frash Kingdom.
So, Boyd probably told them to come to the Prash Kingdom and hand over game items.
One thing that is questionable is that with Void’s combat power that can fuse with Demons, there would be no problem invading the Prash Kingdom right away.
However, rather than choosing to invade right away, they chose to give them a grace period and have them bring it directly.
Why is that so?
There is only one thought that comes to mind.
I don’t know what method Void uses, but there must be a way to find game items like the compass I have.
But aren’t the game items in the Prash Kingdom stored in a place where no one can take them out?
So, I think they were told to bring it on their own rather than invading to find it themselves.
In that case, it seems that taking friendly action with May was the right answer.
How far did they swim?
I think it took about 2 hours to travel.
While moving, we encountered horn sharks and other underwater monsters that we caught earlier, but they died in an instant before they could block our path.
And buildings made out of huge rocks in the deep sea come into view.
“We’re here, everyone! That’s the Frash Kingdom.”
I checked the compass and it was still pointing towards the Frash Kingdom.
As we neared the Frash Kingdom, another fishman approached and blocked our path.
“Stop! Who are you…Princess May! Are you safe?”
“Yes, and I brought people to help me.”
May spoke with a happy expression to the fishman who appeared to be a guard.
Looking at the guard fishmen, it seems that the basic form of the fishmen here is that of a human with an upper body and a fish with a lower body.
Then, I wondered how it was breathing, but when I looked closely, I could see gaps in the armpits that looked like gills.
I don’t know how they breathe, but like a fish, do they breathe through gills underwater and use lungs inside the body outside?
This is a truly amazing species.
“We have to take these people to Abama immediately. Could you please get out of the way?”
“Yes, Princess May!”
After hearing May’s words, the guard split in front of us and made way for us, and we passed the guard and entered the Frash Kingdom.
While moving to meet King Prash, several fishmen caught my eye. I thought May’s appearance was that of a fishman just by looking at the guards, but that was not the case at all.
Some fishmen had lower bodies made of tentacles like octopuses rather than fish, while other fishmen had upper and lower bodies that looked like humans but had fish heads.
The world is truly wide…
I entered the largest building in the Frash Kingdom while looking at various fishmen.
I followed May through the hallways of the building and finally arrived at a large space.
There, the largest fishman I had ever seen, was sitting there looking at us.
“Abama! That May is back!”
“May! Did you bring reinforcements?”
The fishman, who appeared to be King Prash, and May hugged each other in a touching father-son reunion, then soon separated from each other and May pointed her finger in our direction.
“They say those people over there are warriors. I can guarantee that.”
“A dragon, a hero!? It’s hard to believe.”
May came over to meet us and explained in detail what had happened to get here.
“Hornshark can take down Devil Snake in one blow… May, if you hadn’t told me, I wouldn’t have believed it.”
“I too had a hard time believing what was happening before my eyes. But it’s no problem now! They said they would defeat the evil hordes.”
Mei’s words echo in this space, and not only King Prash but also other fishmen turn their eyes towards us in surprise.
I stepped forward.
“From what Mr. May said, the evil group I just mentioned is an organization called Void. I don’t know what its purpose is, but it is an organization that is trying to devour this world. One of our goals is to stop Void.”
I told him a moderate amount of lies.
“Instead, we have one request. There is something we need here in the Kingdom of Prash. If we kill Void, can you give us that object? This is what I promised Mr. May.”
May listened to me and nodded her head.
“Can you tell us what kind of item it is? If we know that, we can decide whether we can give it to you or not.”
“I think we’ll have to wait and see what exactly it is.”
I handed the compass to King Frash.
“This compass here was given to us directly by God Gaia and indicates the location of the item we need to find. We came here looking for the direction of this compass.”
“Oh… I feel like God Gaia is definitely a hero.”
Fortunately, there is an atmosphere of trust.
“Let’s deal with the Voids first. When did the Voids say they would come?”
“It’s not long now. He said he’ll come back tomorrow at noon.”
