Chapter 58 – Promise With the Elf (1)
Sylvia asked us to follow her.
“Okay. Let’s go in a bit.”
I pointed at the Void organization guy Lien had finished.
“There’s something I need to check on this guy until the end.”
Anyway, we defeated the Void summoned here.
If so, the reward for clearing the raid boss will definitely drop.
Just like the last time with Byhamos.
It didn’t take long for him to turn to dust and disappear.
After defeating Byhamoth, the level 85 raid boss, 20 silver and a level 85 ring were dropped as clear rewards.
This time, I caught a level 75 Spider and a level 90 Bael, so I’m hoping they’ll give me money, materials, or a finished product.
It was a very lucky case that the finished product dropped last time and it will usually give you material items.
I don’t even expect to see a finished product.
There is no way to use material items right away here.
I just plan on picking up the money that drops as a clear reward.
Before I came here, I made enough money through the money I received from Aria and through the arena, but the more money, the better.
Several minutes passed by as Boyd disappeared.
Hmm…
“Jinu? What are you waiting for?”
“Wait a minute, I’m sure money will appear here…”
During Vihamos, it seems like the reward was given out shortly after defeating it.
It would have come out a long time ago, but even though time has passed, there is no sign of it coming out.
“Hmm? Why isn’t it coming out?”
“Are you talking about the materials or money that comes after killing a demon?”
As I muttered while glaring at the place where Boyd was, Lien came next to me and asked.
“Ah, Lien. That’s right. It’s definitely normal to leave here…”
Since Boyd appeared, things have really been giving me headaches.
If Demon and Void fuse, they will no longer be Demon itself, so there will be no compensation, right?
Hey, that crossed the line.
In a situation where you have to compete to see if each other gets game items first, if you fuse with the demon that came out using the game item, there is no reward if you catch it?
“Nothing comes out… Ugh. Last time, Byhamos gave me money and a ring.”
“I’ve waited until now and nothing has happened, so I guess he’s not coming out, my lord.”
Ha… Maybe I can’t forgive Boyd.
It is said that this is reality now, but how can clear rewards be eliminated?
This is something that cannot happen to gamers who enjoy playing games.
“Jinu?”
“Ha… Let’s go now, Sylvia.”
I told myself that the next time I encountered a Void, I would deal with it before it even fused with the Demon.
As I followed Sylvia, I whispered to Ellie.
‘Ellie? Something unbelievable has happened here and now. An organization called Boyd, which I heard about last time at Brighton Castle, has appeared here.’
I explained to Ellie in detail what had happened here.
Boyd summoned Demon using a game item.
The fusion of demons and humans.
Void’s purpose is to use demons to purify the world.
Lastly, meet Aria at Brighton Castle and ask for her help in researching information.
Before we broke up last time, I didn’t specifically mention Aria.
Now that we know that Void is targeting game items like ours, we will need to borrow Aria’s power to conduct a large-scale investigation.
It would be nice if we could talk to each other, but for now I’ll just have to be satisfied with being able to at least let people know this in advance.
“Jinuni, are you talking to Ellie?”
Yuria was held in my arms and spoke to her.
“Yes, I thought it would be better to let you know in advance. And I have asked Aria to investigate Void and her equipment sooner.”
“I see. We don’t want Void to take away the equipment we need to find, so it would be good for her to get help from Aria.”
Yuria nodded her head at my words.
I am currently walking with other elves besides Sylvia.
Sylvia, who knew us, was in her usual state, but her other elves looked nervous when they saw us.
I can understand that.
The fighting skills Yuria and Lien showed today would have been unbelievable.
From what I heard from Sylvia, even Spider was an opponent that she couldn’t defeat with the power of an elf.
Since I don’t know about the existence of Demons, I don’t know that Bael is stronger than the Spider, but when I look at it from the side, I would have known that it is a stronger monster than the Spider.
Such a being showed signs of complete fusion, but we defeated such a being without suffering even a single wound.
When I see things like that, I think they might feel fear of an unknown being whose strength is greater than what they know.
Since we don’t know what to do, I wonder if just being around us makes us nervous.
“Sylvia, how about Ar’estel Village? From what I remember, I don’t think anyone was hurt.”
“Thank goodness you guys responded right away and no one was hurt. Thank you so much.”
Sylvia looked at us and smiled broadly.
“Actually, because our Arestel was protected by a barrier, enemies from outside never came into the village. It’s been hundreds of years, so I think everyone was complacent about enemy attacks.”
Sylvia smiled for a moment, but then her shoulders slumped and she looked sad, as if she was remembering what happened today.
“So, even if something happened today, I think the surrounding elves couldn’t react right away. If it weren’t for you, the spider would have been unsealed and a monster I had never seen before would have appeared and Ar’estel might have disappeared from the map.”
I think I know what you mean.
Isn’t there something called safety insensitivity in the world I was in?
When an extremely comfortable daily life continues, people tend to become complacent with that fact.
From what I remember, even when a fire alarm goes off in a building, people just look at each other blankly and don’t think about going out to the building right away.
Even if an actual accident occurs, isn’t being able to react immediately what the elves have experienced this time?
The lifespan of elves is much longer than that of us humans, so I think it would have been even more difficult for elves to overcome their insensitivity to safety if they had lived a much more comfortable life.
“It happened in our village, and we didn’t even try to solve it… I’m grateful to you, but I’m sorry.”
To be honest, I didn’t think much about the fact that the elves didn’t fight with us while we fought the Void.
Of course, just because we’re the only ones fighting doesn’t mean I don’t feel sad about the elves.
Elves, who were just watching indifferently about what was happening in their village, were seen fighting against Void.
However, the reason I did not think much of it was because I thought that even if the elves helped, it would not have been of much help in defeating the Void.
The elves have a fighting power that even Spider cannot defeat, and since Bael has appeared, I thought that intervening in Yuria and Lien’s battle would be a hindrance.
Right now, I can’t join in on the fight between the two, and I can’t fight together except at the moment when I see the enemy’s gap.
“It’s okay, our strength was enough for now.”
Rather, I think it is a situation where they can take advantage of the fact that they are indebted to Arestel Village.
I think we could also get help from elves other than Aria.
We entered Arestel again and walked towards the center of the village.
The expression on the elf’s face as he looked at us passing by showed various emotions, including curiosity and fear at the sight of him fighting the Void.
Fortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any major damage to the village, other than the part where Void was melted by her poisonous breath.
We passed through the center of town and stopped in front of a building.
“This is where Elune is.”
Sylvia, who was guiding us, looked at us and said.
The building that seemed to be where elves lived was a house carved out of a large tree.
Sylvia stood at the entrance of the building and knocked lightly.
“Elune, I brought you here.”
“Thank you, Sylvia. Please come in.”
Sylvia opened the door at the words of Elune, the high elf inside.
Other than Sylvia, the elves waited outside the building, and when we and Sylvia went inside, we saw Elune sitting in front of a large table.
“Welcome, warrior.”
As we entered, Elune looked at us and bowed.
“Eh, Elune?!”
As the high elf Elune bowed her head towards us, Sylvia, who was watching her, looked embarrassed.
I guess I never imagined that the highest authority in this village would easily bow down.
“Hello, Elune. Nice to meet you.”
“No. I don’t want to imagine what would have happened without you today.”
We went and sat around the table where Elune was sitting.
As we sat down, Elune served tea prepared in front of us.
“I have a lot to ask you today.”
Elune began his speech with a nervous look on his face.
